Higurashi (live-action) movie discussion

At first I was annoyed by them not sticking completely to the onikakushi and adding bits of the watanagashi, but after a while now I think that it's better if they do semi original arcs (which might be the case with chikai).

Agreed. Since they won't be able to do 8 movies I think that makes sense as that the movies are more self-contained compared to them doing two to three answer arcs and then stopping. Making a question arc followed by its answer arc is reasonable.

Well, I haven't watched the movie, but from the trailers around, I can say the acting is quite... odd.

The acting was a bit weird in the movie...O.o but it wasn't that bad, I don't think. *^-^*

.. Maybe it's almost..Um,yea,I don't get most of that trailer or why it's defiantly bright outside during the battle scene. Are they going to stand there for like 4 hours,waiting for it to be night,then fight? Or is it going to suddenly turn dark?

Spoiler for Impressions:

Pros:
* They were able to develop Hinamizawa's culture even further.

Cons:
* Enough with the CGI crap already, it's not even remotely scary.
* Satoko's a bit too tall. I thought she was going to be Rena at first.
* Tomitake's too scrawny.

Other notes:
* Was hoping Rena was going to go around with a Colonel Sanders head. Think of the sponsorship!
* I just find it odd that Chie's wearing a suit in the middle of summer.
* Needle punching through K1's skin was unnecessary. I also don't see the point in using the surreal clouds thing.

Verdict: I know it's aimed towards normalfriends but I feel like a lot of important stuff is going to be inevitably cut.
