well honestly this make a lot of sense, given krilin sparring partiner being number 18 and how he proof his value against goku, while on that episode tien was pathetic and easy beat by master rioshi even with a power up i still doubt master rioshi being strong than krilin, really tien presentation here was pathetic compared with the others team members showcase, he clear showed being the weakest of the team.

Master Roshi's actions in this episode were problematic...I'll be shocked if this isn't edited once it gets to toonami...

Could have sworn Tien like Krillen & Yamacha had vowed to quit fighting...hmm, well he should have because I don't see what he can do...The power chart on this show was always out of wack, but when you got Roshi giving Goku trouble I don't know what the hell to say...

well it's already was heavy censured, cuz no "boobs gigles" no pants shot and no noise blood, basically they make all the "ecchi stuff" very, very childs friend for a japanese standart rules where normally shounens could go very wild on that.

Man, there's lusting over females in a cartoonish way and there's what Roshi did in this ep...Like most, I've seen every ep of everthing DB and I've never had the cringe-y feeling I had during this episode...

In 2017 I wouldn't be surprised if they don't combine this with the next episode and phase out the Roshi part completely in the dub...I know this is culturally different no doubt, but still thought it took Roshi from amusing ecchi old man to ... yikes.

nab you must go watch again "old dragon ball" cuz master roshi aways was like that or maybe you watched only the "censured version" of dragon ball where some episodes where heavy censured or cut" because or "weapons" reference or because too much ecchi like when bumma showed her p... to master roshi or when he used a shrink pill to spy on a girl in bath, master roshi aways was like that, it is maybe or you never watched old db or not watched "that moment", dragon ball before z was used to be much more "wild" than the current super which is being very "tame" compared with the past where things where almost like series like fairy tail or fire brigade and others shounens.

or maybe you watched only the Z part of dragon ball where the "ecchi fanservice" was almost forget and things where almost full battle and action.

^Sorry, I disagree with you..This felt different to me...Alot of the times its so cartoonish it doesn't have an effect, but this was overboard...

I would have been ashamed to watch this ep with one of my nieces or even my GF...LOL, no way i could watch this ep with my girl...Been watching anime over 17 years, I get it...I understand the different cultural dynamics..and I've seen Roshi act an ass in the past especially in old school DB...but even something like Bulma showing Goku "her goods" in the old eps...there's an innocence factor there I guess...

What Roshi did this ep was full-on criminal...and I'll laff it off for the culture, but it was overt as hell...To the point I had to post about it...

Got to say that i really liked the magic girl's hair and outfit. She is like a hot version of Chi-Chi. Master Kame has a good eye

Too bad the sayanjins from the universe 6 have no tails. Another missed opportunity to bring back the Oozaru badass power. At least we will have a female sayan for a change. I was always curious to see one in SSJ form since it never happened to Pan in GT...lol.

when she "showed" not was to goku was to master roshi, due to exactly goku removed her pants then when master roshi asked her to show her pants, she ended showing "another thing" you really must watch back the "old dragon ball" and not the "censured one" and you gonna see which things here are much more "tamed" than it was in the past, again remember which many things which happened in db in the past where heavy censored when leave japan exactly because of that, because for many peoples that scenes could be "too much to burden.

while i agree which in some cases i had the feel/urge to go to japan and beat the crap out of some "writers" for being or too much sexist or too much pervert, i know which overal is just they culture and "rules which are different from ours" and honestly while i can respect it in some cases, in others i feel totally disgusted and sick(specially in hentai ones specially the ones about "rape and lolicon) but this is not on this case.

and some cases the problem is not "culture" but much more laws, which are too much "gray zone" and dubious interpretation which allow the authors go wild as they want since the laws are very bad on that matter, for exemple almost anything is "allowed" as long they are fictional draw character and not real life person, while a porn with little girls/boys could easy put peoples on jail in japan, anime characters no.

I agree that Roshi's actions this episode went overboard, or rather, the entire thing was framed in a way that made it creepy rather than funny. And yes, I've watched the old DB uncensored, and read the manga, but the issue isn't how ecchi the scene was, but how it looked like from the girl's point of view. When in DB Bulma showed Roshi her pussy she did it willingly, the joke was that she didn't know she had no panties and only realised later, but it was still pretty funny because in the end while it was a misunderstanding it wasn't anyone's fault, and Roshi's request was pervy but still a fair deal. And after that he certainly had a lot of pervy moments but they usually either were similar deals (that occasionally still ended with him being cheated or made a fool of) or just comically doomed attempts at peeping/groping.

He was never especially gallant, and the joke got old fast, but it never felt like he was more than a senile fool. This episode really carried the joke a bit too far into uncomfortable territory, not because it was especially ecchi but because it felt like the girl was genuinely scared, not simply annoyed/angry.

to be clear i'm not saying which what he is doing is "fine" or something like that, but which he aways was a big old fart perv and whenever he had a chance to do something like that he could try ofcourse he was more unlucky in past, but that is his nature that is the point he is really a "creep" borderline dangerous old geese when comes to "woman", it's not something new, it's just he was more rewarded this time for all his fails in the past.

That's the thing, in the logic of a comedy you're usually more willing to accept someone doing despicable things if they repeatedly fail. Pinky and the Brain are funny not because taking over the world is a very moral thing to do, it's pretty horrible, but because they're just so bad at it they don't even look threatening. The same applies to Roshi - while we usually find this kind of comedy inappropriate in general, it can be sort of funny or at least not outright disgusting if it's tempered by the fact that he actually always fails hard at his most misguided attempts. That part is a key element of not crossing the line, even though if Roshi was a real person he wouldn't be any better for trying and failing. But what me and many others felt this episode was that the whole joke was carried out too far and let him get his way too much, thus making it less funny and more actually creepy. I wished the girl would just punch him into the wall, Bulma style, multiple times during the dojo scene, but she never did, she kept simply cowering and screaming, and that was frankly a bit too real to be funny.

Yeah it came off as a bit much.

I could see some vague signals that maybe we really were supposed to believe Roshi had already figured it out and maybe we were supposed to think that she was subjecting herself to Roshi's harassment by being stubborn (since she was there to carry out an evil plan and wouldn't let herself be deterred by his shenanigans), but it was all just too sloppily executed for the sake of a terrible joke.

wow that was for sure the most "dumbest" decision ever toei and akira have on all over dragon ball, akira must really "suck on freeza balls, he can't let this guy go for good, jesus...

ok trade a very good and stabilished character like "buu" to bring back his "baby villian" freeza which is a evil scum which coudl easy destroy all the world in the "first chance he could have".
