Also can't forget that Takami was healed by "Mary Sue" Yoshiko. And they did mention previous injuries that were what was preventing her from flying missions, but yeah, it'd be nice if we saw a flashback to what those injuries are and how exactly they impacted her ability to fly.

BW's Neuroi have thoroughly broken from the mold of the first two seasons of SW and just gone for "weird-looking alien stuff", which is pretty good, I think. I liked the references to real aircraft, but they didn't always seem alien enough because of that.
I can't help but compare this WWII magical-flying-girls scenario a lot more favorably than how Shuumatsu no Izetta ended, even if this finale is still going. They're not trying to do the same things so it's a very rough comparison, but this still feels smarter. |

Dora and Gustav are actual historical artillery pieces. Gustav was used to some effectiveness during WWII, but Dora (which was completed later) was not, from the small bit of research I've done.
This is the first time we've seen any sort of real external structure to a Neuroi hive. In SW1 Yoshika was brought inside something solid, but we never saw what it looked like from the outside. In SW2 all we saw of the super-hive was the core. The Neuroi in this season continue to be smarter than ever. This thing knew full well what the real threat was, and made certain to attack the cannons rather than focus on the witches.

This plan seems utterly doomed. Even if Hikari gets up there and can get a more precise calculation...so what? There's no way they can adjust that kind of artillery quickly enough. You have to find it, pass on the location, let the artillery adjust, and then fire. Too many steps for something buzzing around like a fly. I'm sure they'll figure it out....somehow.
Nice to have Eila and Sanya pop up again . And really why not. They are in the area so it makes some sense. Plus doesn't have to make much sense to get these two involved. Just too bad it seems like they won't be able to join the fight. Though you never know. In some ways I like that Hikari doesn't have an easy trip to the battlefield. She's got to run .

Ah, I wasn't the only one to think this:

I'm really mad at takami, not even a good bye explaining things and hoping that after is over everything is going to be better like nothing happened after what she did to her sister?, too bad hikari is too pure to hate somebody, not even kanno that was trash to her almost all the serie.
Well I already got too far to drop this serie now. |

Personal opinion: I really loved this episode because many thing weren't said, but they were expressed with body language and actions.
I think that Hikari actually was angry with her sister since she didn't said anything about her sister not being there to say goodbye. I also loved how Kanno (who is usually quite emotional) told Takami coldly that "she won the spot as her partner instead of Hikari". Now I only wish they could have added a scene in which the generals would tell Takami that "if she failed this mission, they would use her sister in the next attempt". It will clear up a lot of things from the last two episodes. |

Also, I really don't get the hate on Takami. She's not doing this to upstage her sister or anything like that. She was just trying to protect her. Sure, it might not be the best way to do it, but that's more on the writers than on Takami herself as far as I'm concerned.
