Whereas Edgeworth has a sportscar and travels first class. Your tax... dollars? Yens? at work. (Or bribe money. Maybe it's bribe money.)

Well that was predictable but glad to see Naruhodou emerge victory after fighting hard to win the case. Nice. NOT GUILTY.

So this Circus arc end. Honestly, this has been one of my favorites so far mainly because of how purely fun it is. Final case next week!

And it's official. (Not that it's a big surprise anyway.) Edgeworth is a major drama queen. Who leaves a note like that and not mean it as a suicide note?

Now that the cat is out of the bag for good I can rage about it;
The anime really did nothing to hide that Edgeworth is still alive.

First they cut the best acse of all (Bonus case, Emma Starr) which further added to the suspicion Edgeworth comitted suicide.
Then they showed him in the intro like the entire time making sure everyone knows that all phoenix says about him being dead is BS.
While the game on the other hand did a good deal of work to make people think he was actually dead up to a certain point of time.

It's not like anyone with a brain would really think he was dead.

A-1 better have saved up some budget for the next case. This is the one I'm most excited to see animated, and they'd better not skimp on the payoff.

Well they did a decent job on the circus adaptation. Didn't waste too much time on the pointless testimonies and toned down the "spoiled innocent" aspects of Mirika's character.

Looking forward to the next case. I hope it has a good voice cast.

This one felt incredibly trimmed down, actually. I haven't played the game in a while, but my memory of it is that it felt more... substantial. This episode had me questioning whether the show even works as an abridged version of the games for fans that haven't had a chance to play yet, but it seems like a number of you folks are still enjoying.

Out of curiosity, if you haven't played the games, are you interested in trying them out after watching this series? I do believe they're all on Steam, too.

It was. You had to interrogate the clown and the ventriloquist to eventually reconstruct the trick. And they weren't cooperative.

Nope but they are on the 3DS eShop and the Apple App Store for the iPhone/iPad.

WTH?!
They actually replaced Lotta with Larry! Da heck?!
Also Edgeworth's return was kinda unimpactful - probably because the OP made it obvious he was alive from the very beginning of the second season.

I am of the opinion that replacing an obnoxious pointless side character with a different obnoxious pointless side character has no real effect on the quality of the show. If you're gonna talk flaws, there's dozens of them that actually matter, lol.

The fact that Edgeworth was alive and coming back was always obvious though. Only an idiot would actually think he was dead.

I actually feel like they made Lotta rather more likeable during the second Maya trial than the games ever made her. If you want to talk obnoxious pointless side characters then Oldbag takes the cake. Hopefully they'll tone down her role here like they did during the steel samurai trial.

My point was that the change is inconsequential. I actually like Lotta, and Oldbag for that matter. But are they incredibly crucial links without whom the story would fall apart? Not really, they fill bit parts which can be filled by any buffoon.

If you want everything to be like the game... Why not just play the game?

This isn't quite true. There's a difference between Lotta (a virtual stranger) expressing a little bit of sympathy for Phoenix's situation before moving along to mourn her camera.

Larry is someone who is supposed to be decently close to Phoenix--especially with how the anime softened his actual involvement in taking the money re: the class trial--so having him whine and moan about his camera to the point of accusing Phoenix of stealing it without even offering to assist in some way when Maya's been kidnapped just makes him pointlessly look like a dick.

Basically, what it comes down to is Lotta and Larry are not actually interchangeable characters, no matter how obnoxious and obstructive both of them are. They have different levels of familiarity with the lead characters, which a good show would use to its advantage. Too bad this isn't a good show.

That is if you didn't play the bonus case in your very first AA playthrough where he was so depressed the entire time it was actually belieable.

As to your point with larry - Larry just shouldn't fill other characters roles, especially when those characters are far more likable then him.
Maya is really jsut as incosequential - if they had replaced her being abducted with pearl being abducted it would have still be the same (the advantage is she wasn't a PiTA for an entire case lol ).

This is one of the cases where the Magatama really has an inpact of some sort too.
