I find it very apt how ZnT is absolutely torrid on its own, but once the xovers began, each and every idea was always exploding with awesomeness. It has come to the point when one might deduce that perhaps ZnT was a spice that on its own was just overwhelming, and thus enhances whatever else you sprinkle it with.
As for Nanoha and Tsundere, please continue, Nagumo-sama. *drags Lowe along to grovel before the Great Mistress*

Japanese fanfic
A surprisingly hard fanfic to translate. Not like a sound stage/drama cd at all. Zero and the Demonic/Magical Cannon Girl http://www35.atwiki.jp/anozero/pages/3343.html • Prologue - The Circumstances of the Summoning Spoiler for Partial translation:
0077. 9. 18 Unadministrated World 64.
Unadministrated World 64 is an abandoned planet... Its vitality has long been exhausted, abandoned wilderness stretches across the planet. Countless ruins and abandoned fields dot it, the people who once lived there long ago left for places unknown. Even flora and fauna is exceedingly rare. The cost to revitalize the depleted planet back to the point a settlement could be established exceeds the expected profit it would generate. And so it now sits empty, letting the nature run its course. A few reasons it was not completely neglected was due to archaeological investigation of its ruins and keeping the planet free of criminals using it. And also because the TSAB armed forces liked using it as a training ground. Amongst the scholars who came to study out of curiosity, the ruins and the civilization that once resided there came to the conclusion that it was not a particularly dangerous location. That may have been too premature a judgment (trans alt: that may have been careless of them) After all, there must have been a reason why an entire people uprooted themselves completely to migrate elsewhere. Fortunately, the incident revealed that the ‘reason’ was not as dangerous as it could have been. At the time, it seemed the very incident itself would shake the entire TSAB but it ended far more peaceful than imagined. Though in reality, the situation would not have gotten quite as serious if it had happened to anyone but the woman involved. If she had not gone there as an instructor, then Mobile Six would not got involved with a Lost Logia case. Instead she ended up absent from the case and became the protagonist of another story (alt trans: ended up playing a leading role in another story). If Takamachi Nanoha (age 20), the Ace of Aces had not mysteriously went missing in a dimensional anomaly.

The End of an OC; this is the last short featuring NanoverseWallachia. Going out with a bang; no regrets, no mercy.
Spoiler for No Tears for Fallen Angels:
Even though Wallachia felt, and heard, the hunger in her stomach, she couldn’t bring herself to eat the slice of meat on her fork. The piece was drenched in red, thick sauce and emitted a strong, delicious scent that teased her nose. It had been cooked straight through, with not the slightest shade of red remaining. It was as good as could be prepared by her, a masterpiece in the assortment of meats.
And yet, she just stared at it. Carving the woman up in the first place had proven to be more boring than usual, which hadn’t surprised her at the time, seeing how she was a little tired, but now it actually started to worry her. The woman had screamed and cried as the knife had sliced her flesh up in perfect squares, draining her blood at the same time to conjure the sauce, yet it hadn’t helped. Something was wrong with Wallachia’s body and mind, and she didn’t know what. Disgusted at herself, she flung the fork at the wall and growled. “Why?” she said, then slammed the table with her fists. The plate clattered and the wineglass, filled to the brim with thin blood, almost fell over. She caught it before it did and drank it all in one swoop. She didn’t even bother to enjoy it. The door rang. Such a rare event made her perk up, covering her flaring emotions, and get up from the chair. Suspicious, and slightly curious, she approached the door and prepared her powers in case the TSAB had found her again. She checked the peep hole. A man with filthy black hair stood outside, his eyes darting back and forth. He wore a hoodie with the hood itself down. He looked nonthreatening, but she took no chances. The TSAB were cunning, even if their choice in agents were sometimes weird. Tensing up, bringing her powers just below the limit for when she could release them, she opened the door a little and peered out. “Yes?” “Wallachia, I know who you are,” the man outside the door said and smiled. The corner of his mouth twitched, accompanied by a speck of sweat on his forehead. “I’m Trent and I can help you.” Intrigued, and more than a little dumbfounded, she didn’t shut the door in his face right away. “Help me with what? If you know who I am, you wouldn’t be asking that question.” “I want something from the TSAB’s databanks,” Trent said, rambling on. “But I can’t do it without your help, and what I can do for you while we’re there is to erase your profile in the mainframe. They will restore it eventually, but until then you will be invisible on their surveillance network.” Wallachia raised an eyebrow, surprised at the direct request and offer. Trent, she found, interested her more than anyone in recent weeks. She decided, on the spot, and shrugged. “I’m bored, so sure. Let me get ready.” Trent smiled wider and Wallachia shut the door in his face. Moving back through the worn down apartment, with dust gathering in the corners, she retrieved her new white trenchcoat and put it on over her usual white clothes. The coat reached to her ankles and covered most of her neck up to her cheekbones once she had buttoned it up. When she had bought it, or stolen it, it had enticed her. It made her hair flow out of it in a way she had really liked for no specific reason and the way it moved with her body made her feel... special. “First time I’m using you,” she murmured. That was all she needed. She opened the door again, Trent staring at her with fear lurking beyond his face, and he followed her out of the building. She walked with a long stride and a smirk growing wider on her lips as her spirit grew, boredom being swiped away. * The TSAB Data Center building lay ahead of them. It was taller than most of the buildings around it, though still not the tallest, and the lack of lights on the upper floors made it melt into the night sky. The only floor that was lit was the bottom one, with guards patrolling inside. Wallachia traversed the steps leading up to the entrance slowly. The trenchcoat flipped around in the wind, accompanying her hair that flowed over its brim at her neck. Streetlights lit up the area where she walked, throwing long shadows behind her as she reached the top of the stairs. She could see the guards on the other side of the glass panes. There were three of them and they hadn’t seen her. This late, they would be pacified by tiredness. Putting her ear buds in, Trent’s voice sounded in her ears; “Light’s out in one,” he said. He lay in a bush somewhere, which was fine with Wallachia. He would just be in the way. She stood there and waited, calculating her move. It was different from her usual approach, but, then, everything about her had felt different during the day. She clenched and unclenched her hands, focusing on one particular glass pane that had a guard close by on the other side. They still hadn’t noticed her. She licked her lips as her blood started to rush in her veins. “You might like the sound of this,” Trent said. She was about to ask what he meant when music flowed through the earbuds; a fast-paced electronic rhythm, accompanied by irresistible beats that made her nod along. As the song built up, the lights on the bottom floor went out, though the street light remained. It was impossible not to see her standing outside, a cone of light shining down on her, as she broke into a run, music pumping. She gathered speed and jumped, forming a shield in front of her. The window pane shattered, sending pieces of glass into the face of the guard that spun around to investigate. He received an eyeful of glass splitter and went down with a pained shriek as the music climaxed. Wallachia landed, rolled and sent out a blood projectile from her hand into the face of another guard. The back of his head exploded and his body collapsed to the floor, forming a small pool of blood and brain matter. She got to her feet and sidestepped the magical projectiles from the remaining guard’s magi-gun, taking cover behind a pillar. The projectiles chipped away at its surface. She threw herself sideways towards another pillar, firing away another projectile. It hit the guard in the chest and everything fell quiet. She came to a stop just as the body hit the floor, its spine hanging loose through the fleshy strings that remained of his back. Her coat came to a rest and the light flickered back on. “Beautiful,” Trent said, music lowering in volume, “I’m coming in.” Wallachia stood up and saw Trent carefully climb over the shattered glass, eyeing the corpses of the guards. A hint of disgust flashed on his face, but it soon disappeared. The guard who had had his face pierced by glass lay in a corner unable to see, whimpering, but didn’t try and make a sound beyond that. Trent didn’t comment about him, though he very much looked like he wanted to. Instead he nodded at the elevator and opened his bag. “Someone is coming down. My guess would be a senior mage.” “They sure got security,” Wallachia said. “Still less than they should have,” Trent said and held out a rifle. “You know how to handle one of these, right?” Wallachia shrugged, unimpressed with the weapon. “Why would I need that? Are you saying I’m weak?” Trent’s face paled and he shook his head. “No, no, not at all. It’s just, it’s black market. Modified and rebuilt based upon another design inherent to Earth. I think you might like it.” Wallachia hesitated, then took the rifle anyway. She turned it over and checked all its components. On a closer look she had to admit it was intrinsically designed. She could almost call it beautiful. It was small and light, easy to handle. Not that its weight would have mattered to her, but still. “On Earth they call it a P90, I think,” Trent said. “Fast firing and all that.” “I don’t give a fuck what it’s called,” Wallachia said and checked the magazine. Satisfied, she slapped it in again as the elevator dinged. It had reached their floor. She cocked the rifle. “As long as it can help me, it can be whatever. Even I can accept some help at times.” The elevator doors opened and a female mage stepped outside. She wore a black helmet with a single slit where her eyes should have been. It glowed orange, meshing with her Battle Jacket which was coated black. It covered her entire body, with red markings on the shoulders and knees. It gave her a bulky appearance, quite the opposite to Jackets Wallachia had seen in the past. Though even more unusual were the two magi-pistols the mage had in each hand, aimed at Wallachia. Pointy and sharp, yet smoothly rounded at their ends, they seemed to fuse with her Jacket. “Stand down, Blood Angel,” the woman said. “You won’t get any further.” Wallachia rolled her eyes and placed her free hand on her hip. “That’s the fifth time I hear that this year. When are you actually going to get serious about it?” The mage said nothing and stood there, unmoving. The music in Wallachia’s ear increased in volume, coming around for another climax. She opened her mouth to hurl another insult. The mage opened fire. Wallachia sidestepped towards a pillar, avoiding the first bullets, firing back as she moved. The modded P90 spewed magi-bullets at the mage at an insane rate, but she also dove out of the way and the projectiles hit the wall behind her. Wallachia didn’t pause and lunged herself out from the other side of the pillar, placing one hand in front of her on the floor and used it as momentum to perform a handspring. She vaulted across the space between the pillars while firing upside-down as the mage came into her sights. The P90’s ‘bzzzt’ sound occupied the space for the next few seconds. A shield appeared in front of the woman and the bullets were absorbed by it, leaving ripples like water moving across the shield’s surface. The mage quickly found new cover in a corner and stayed there. Completing her handspring, Wallachia hid behind the pillar and checked her weapon. Half of the mag had been spent, which was fine to her. She took a deep breath and exhaled slowly, focusing her mind. Time seemed to slow down as her senses peaked. Hearing the slow heartbeats of those around her, including herself, made her feel exhilarated. Blood and adrenaline slowed to a crawl. The music, though, kept going at its own pace, beyond her own sense of time. An inferno of whiteness, she threw herself out, white hair hovering and coat flapping, and unleashed the remaining mag into the spot where the mage hid. She flew sideways and, as the mage retreated from her hideout among the splinters thrown by the impacting bullets, Wallachia’s P90 clicked. The mag had run out, and she landed into a roll, proceeding into propelling herself forward, and closed the distance between them. The mage fired as she ran, managing to dodge the incoming projectiles. Her own bullets, zinging through the air, whined past Wallachia’s ears. She turned her body sideways, as she could almost see the bullets coming towards her, leaving faint ripples in their path. She slithered through them and landed right in front of the mage who turned towards her and raised her guns. Normal people would have dropped the rifle Wallachia was holding. Since the mag had run out, and she had no extras, it was useless. But instead of dropping it, she threw it right at the mage, who reacted exactly like she expected. Reflexes caused the mage to deflect the rifle away, creating an opening. Wallachia took it while the rifle flew through the air. Pushing off her feet, she back flipped and felt her left foot connect with the mage’s jaw through the helmet. She somersaulted backwards, landing on both her feet, the coat coming to a rest once again, while the mage was thrown upwards, then straight down as gravity took over. Her helmet was torn off, the woman screaming in pain as it did, and she landed on her back, though she recovered almost immediately. With hair dark as night sticking to her face with her own blood that ran from her nose, she fired again with gritted teeth. Her attacks became fueled by frustration rather than training. Wallachia, prepared for the comeback, threw herself backward with a smile on her face. She could see the bullets whizzing by above her, just as before, missing her body by a few millimeters. When they had passed she extended her arms and did another handspring backwards. Somersaulting through the air, she landed on her feet and fired two blood projectiles back at the mage. The first one missed and hit the wall, splashing red over its surface. The second, however, hit the mage in the chest and caused her to stagger. She tried to fire again, but her shots went wide, chipping away at the pillars instead. With no time to waste, Wallachia ran up to the mage, made a sweep kick with her legs, causing the mage to lose her balance and fall to the floor, and planted a firm boot right in the woman’s ribcage once she was down. The mage coughed blood as her eyes tried to focus, her hands grabbing for Wallachia’s boot. The music died down. “As I said, when are you gonna get serious?” Wallachia applied some more pressure and grinned. The woman coughed again and groaned. With a few ribs broken and her nose a mess, pain was her first concern. “You’re nothing more than a novice. As usual. The TSAB are overzealous amateurs.” Trent emerged from behind her, carrying his backpack. “Come on. Last obstacle is dealt with. We’re running out of time.” He looked anxious, pressed for time. Wallachia nodded at him and then knelt to kiss the woman’s forehead. She licked her lips as some of her blood touched it. “I usually don’t leave lovely beings like you alive, so consider yourself lucky. If you want to wait, be my guest. I’ll be back for you eventually. Your blood is quite delicious.” With that said, she removed her boot from the mage’s chest, enabling her to breath properly, and followed Trent into the elevator. She was still grinning as the doors closed. * The room with the mainframe was an ease to break into for Trent. Wallachia stood guard, idly wondering what the hell she was doing. The elevator trip to the floor they were on had taken an eternity and it wouldn’t take long until the TSAB came in full force. By now the whole building had to be on alert, yet she still couldn’t hear any sirens. Either they were still far away or moving in silently. “It’s open,” he said and slipped through. She followed and close the door behind her. Trent went to work right away as he started to plug in his hardware, clacking away on the keyboad. “Keep an eye out, would you? I’ll tell you when I’m done. This might take a while.” “Whatever,” Wallachia said and turned to open the door again. She had it half-open before a shot rang out. At first she wasn’t sure what had happened, as her head had suddenly snapped forward when she heard the gunfire echo in the room. She looked back at Trent, who had a devilish grin on his face, while she trailed the back of her head with a finger. Her soft skin, once smooth, was now wet and sticky to the touch. When her index finger hovered over the oozing wound which pumped out blood along with her heartbeats, she grit her teeth and stared at Trent. Raged boiled inside her. Trent, meanwhile, seemed to have frozen in place with horror in his eyes, his grin waning. She took pleasure in that fact. “Y-you should be dead now. Drop dead. Now. Please.” “You shouldn’t have done that,” Wallachia said and took a step towards him. The step, more surprising to her than to Trent, resulted in her falling to the floor. Her knees didn’t buckle as much as they stopped functioning. She looked back at them, anger flaring in her skull. “Seems you are not invincible,” Trent said and laughed. It was a nervous laugh, overconfident. “Just in case, I’ll make sure you don’t get up.” Wallachia grit her teeth and erected an emergency shield, though something within her failed to work. The shield, red as her own blood that now flowed onto the floor, covered parts of her head, but not the rest of her body, which was where Trent unloaded the entire clip. Her knee caps exploded as the bullets tore through them. She felt her ribs shattering as bullets hit her in the back, pierced her lungs and pinged as they reached the floor on the other side. Echoes of sharp noises were thrown around the room until only a clicking noise replaced it. Trent holstered the gun and went to work on the mainframe in quiet concentration while Wallachia lay on the floor, swimming in her own blood. Whatever had been broken in her head after the bullet had entered didn’t soften the arrival of the unimaginable pain that surged through her being. Yet, she didn’t have the strength to even howl. She coughed, blood dripping from her mouth. It clogged her throat, making it hard to breath. While the seconds passed by, her vision grew blurrier and all the noises around her kept getting more muffled. Her head felt heavy and she couldn’t lift it anymore. The steady stream of clicking coming from the console was the only thing she heard. Memories of a past fight where she had also been on the brink of death flashed in her mind. The difference now was that she couldn’t use that power again. She still tried to tap the resource of power within her, but there was nothing apart from an empty void. She felt cold all of a sudden and her body started to twitch. Her heartbeat slowed down and for the first time she felt what real incoming death was like. Every other time she thought she had been close to death there had always been some kind of mechanism that allowed her to rejuvenate, but she had never felt this cold before. Its unrelenting frost covered her insides, choking them. She pried inside her again. Nothing was there... No, that wasn’t right. There was something in the void she had just checked. An unrecognizable force lying in wait. She tapped it and felt a surge of energy. Her limbs twitched again. I see..., she thought and clenched her hands, knuckles going white. It’s time to use that. ‘That’ being a power she had just discovered. What it would do lay beyond her capability of understanding, but she knew the result; she wouldn’t get back up again. Despite knowing this, she unleashed it without a single thought of regret. The pool of blood rippled from the sudden energy discharge. Trent was too focused to notice what was happening. Her blood itself seemed to come to life, as it rose from the pool like extending arms, picking her up. The things seemed to have a mind of their own, flailing back and forth, curiously observing their surroundings, and poking, almost bickering, at each other. They held Wallachia by her arms, then carried her on her back. They lay her horizontal, arms outstretched. More bloody tentacles emerged from her bullet holes, though they weren’t regenerating her flesh. They merely multiplied, morphing from the blood and with her body. It all transpired without Wallachia’s knowledge. Her mind registered no pain. She wasn’t even in her own body. She was somewhere else. Another dimension. By now, Trent felt something was wrong and turned to face the monstrosity. All of the tentacles looked at him as his mouth fell agape, eyes widening in terror. His scream was short-lived as the tentacles pierced his stomach, split his ribcage in half and proceeded to chop off his limbs while trashing wildly. Blood showered the walls. It dripped off the computers. The tentacles kept cutting and slashing in a feeding frenzy until only a gory mess of flesh remained of Trent. The whole action had taken less than five seconds. With the threat gone, and the time limit up, the tentacles shrieked and convulsed. They trashed about, knocking down hardware and crushing panels. Electricity and sparks flew in the room, connecting with the tentacles. Energy surges pulsated through the blood and into Wallachia’s body. Arcs of lightning lit up anything flammable, setting fire to the room. Hardware went crazy. The tentacles and Wallachia’s body shook a thousand times a second with millions of volts flowing through their veins. The room exploded, throwing debris out into the night sky with flames licking the exterior wall. It could be heard and seen from several blocks away. * Everything she saw was white and it disoriented her. The space she occupied didn’t seem to have a floor. An infinite void stretched in all directions and she looked down to orient herself. She wore her usual white dress, almost white enough to blend in with her surroundings. Confusion muddled her mind. “Wallachia”, a dark voice said and she looked up. A few meters away, a heart had materialized, hovering in the air. Tentacles grew from it, stretching outward. It beat from time to time. “Welcome.” She tilted her head, feeling no fear or worry. Only curiosity poked at her. “What is this place?” An eye opened on the red surface of the heart, veins pulsing around it. It focused on her. “It depends. My body. Your mind. Our soul. It is what you believe it to be.” “Sounds like bullshit to me,” Wallchia said and sneered. The heart laughed. “You still are who you are. That will change from now on.” “What do you mean? What happened to me?” “I think you know. The knowledge rests within you, but I cannot force you to see the truth. All I can do is to urge you on.” “There’s a truth?” Wallachia said, already growing bored of the heart. To her it was speaking nonsense, a philosophical rant with no end. “A truth you have not seen since you met me.” “Met you? I’ve never seen you before. Whatever you are.” “You have, though I had another form back then.” Wallachia paused and thought. She admitted to herself there was something familiar about the abomination. That something nagged at her mind. A memory from years before surfaced from her mind’s ocean, but it was too unclear to her to make out what is was. What she could see was a little girl and a man kneeling in front of her. The man seemed wounded and they were surrounded by dark shapes in a dark room. “You see it now, don’t you?” the heart said. Wallachia shook her head. “Too blurry. I can’t... remember. It doesn’t make any sense.” “Do not worry. I can help.” The heart closed its eyelids for a moment. When they opened again, its eye was brimming with red light. A tentacle, drenched in a gray, thick fluid, emerged from the iris and floated towards Wallachia’s forehead where it stopped. Its shape changed, resembling a syringe. “Relax. This will not hurt.” She kept her eyes on the tentacle as it seemed to waver for a second. Then, it pierced her brain straight through her skull. An experience so alien assaulted her body that it was sent it into shock. While it convulsed, drool dripping from the corners of her mouth, memories flew past her eyes and were destroyed one at a time. She saw previous murders fly past and she forgot about them the next second. The taste of blood, flesh and organs disappeared. She felt her powers and mana surge out of her body through her brain. They were ripped straight out of her soul. The sheer abstraction of the pain almost made her go mad. She had to focus to remember her own self. My name is Wallachia von Abram. Another memory flew past and shattered. She couldn’t stop it. I am the Blood Angel. The sensation of bathing in blood disappeared. It had lingered, teasing her, before it went away. My name is Wallachia. She could no longer remember the smell of blood. She wanted to cry. Everything that she consisted of was destroyed. von Abram. Memories of people faded. Victims of the past faded into nothing. Finally, her Master appeared with a smile on his face. It projected a warmth she had seldom experienced and for a single moment, she felt a hint of peace. Then he faded, too. My name is... “You have no name,” the heart said and the tentacle pulled out of her brain. Whiteness. *** Teana flashed her ID to the guard. He inspected it and stepped back with a nod, allowing her to enter the Isolation Ward. Surrounded by white walls and bright lights that almost blinded her, she walked through the corridor towards the cell in the back. On the way she passed several other inmates, each one insaner than the one she had just passed. She could barely look at them.Epilogue *** A person stood at the last cell, waiting for her. “Enforcer,” he said and offered his hand. She shook it. “Glad you could make it.” “Me too, Doctor” Teana said. “I read the report about the incident some week back, but I never got the chance to investigate it. Was she really captured that easily?” The Doctor scratched his chin and pressed a button. The force field separating the cell and the corridor went transparent, revealing its contents. “Depends how you define easily. Effortless might be closer to the truth.” “What do you mean?” Teana said and looked through the force field. Inside sat a young woman, white hair cut short, curling at the end, talking to one of the staff members while playing something akin to chess. For some odd reason, she was wearing a black tracksuit. “That’s the Blood Angel? Isn’t that really dangerous?” “I assure you it’s safe. As if it’s the Blood Angel... It is and it isn’t.” “You’re not making sense, Doctor.” “That’s pretty much the gist of it.” Teana sighed and the Doctor chuckled. “I understand your confusion. What, or who, you are looking at there is Charlie.” “Charlie?” she said and raised an eyebrow. The Doctor licked his lips. “As you’ve certainly read about in the report, the surveillance footage from the scene of the incident shows us retrieving the body and that she was unconscious at the time, yes?” “Yes. Go on.” “What the report doesn’t mention is that there wasn’t a single scratch on her body. After an event like that, it’s an impossibility.” “Unless you’re the Blood Angel,” Teana said and crossed her arms, unconvinced. “That would be the normal assertion,” the Doctor continued, “if the woman had been the Blood Angel.” He shook his head, scratching his chin again. “MRT scans, x-ray scans, psychological evaluations, we’ve conductedevery possible method with the intention of confirming it. It has us dumbfounded.” “What has? Please get to the point.” “If our theories are correct, the Blood Angel is no more. Charlie, as she refers to herself now, is another person. She remembers nothing of her previous life.” “Nothing?” “Nothing. She started over on a blank slate.” The Doctor shook his head. “I’ve never seen anything like it.” “And she’s not faking it? The Blood Angel was a master actor, after all.” “She isn’t,” The Doctor said and shook his head. “Impossible. She was a good actor, yes, but our profile on her is long and deep. We are familiar with her tactics. This is unlike anything we’ve seen before, and she hasn’t tried anything in more than a month.” He paused. “It can’t be amnesia either. It doesn’t work that way.” Teana observed Charlie and the staff member for a few moments. “Do you mind if I speak to her?” “Not at all, be my guest. She’s not so much different from yourself, Enforcer.” She grimaced at that and said nothing. The Doctor seemed to find that amusing. The force field disappeared. The staff member rose, said goodbye to Charlie and left, nodding at the Doctor. He motioned Teana to enter. As she stepped into the bareboned cell, Charlie watched her with the red eyes Teana had come to know from the footage in past investigations. It unnerved her, being so close to the Blood Angel. She couldn’t let go of the tension in her muscles. She was ready to defend herself if she had to. “Hello,” Charlie said and bowed slightly. “Nice to meet you.” Teana was almost too shocked to speak. She fumbled as she sat down and nodded at her. “Nice to meet you too... Charlie.” She tried to keep her face straight. “I’m Enforcer Lanster. I’ve got some questions for you.” “Okay.” Charlie sat with her hands in her lap, a soft smile on her lips. A ludicrous image. “Do you remember the name Blood Angel?” Teana said. “No.” “Do you remember Wallachia von Abram?” Charlie hesitated, but not for long. “No.” “Do you remember ever killing anyone?” Charlie’s eyes widened and she shook her head. “Never! That’s a horrible question, Enforcer Lanster.” Teana blinked. Alright. Sorry. I have to ask it.” “I understand, it’s just...” Charlie stroke her neck and looked away. “It’s just such a horrible act.” “Yes. Yes it is.” Teana’s mind drew a blank and she stood up. “Thanks for your time, Charlie.” “That’s all, Enforcer Lanster?” Charlie said, raising an eyebrow. “You just came.” She grinned. Her teeth showed, but the predatory grin so prolific for the Blood Angel wasn’t there. It was a young woman’s smile, with warmth and friendliness. “Would you like to play some chess? No one has beaten me so far.” “I’m sorry, but I need to go. Perhaps some other time.” Charlie shrugged. “I hope so. I don’t meet many new people around here.” She bowed again. “Goodbye.” “Goodbye.” Teana left the cell and inclined her head for the Doctor to follow. She was replaced by the staff member who entered again. to continue their game of chess. The Force Field reappeared, blocking the view. “You were right,” she said. The Doctor nodded. “That’s isn’t the Blood Angel. Which makes this complicated.” “How so?” “Who am I to charge for all the murders and assaults?” The Doctor looked back towards the cell. He scratched his chin once again. “We will keep her here for some time, but, I must say this, Enforcer; that woman is Charlie. She isn’t the Blood Angel. She can’t be held responsible for what the Blood Angel did.” “I understand that. Still...” The Doctor shrugged. “Time will tell. I’m afraid I have nothing else I could share with you. It was nice meeting you, Enforcer Lanster. They shook hands again and Teana left, leaving the Doctor to attend to his work. She moved towards the exit, her mind a blaze of thought of what had just transpired. The guard nodded at her as she approached and stepped aside. She opened the door and halted halfway through it. Throwing a long glance down the hallway over her shoulder, she stood there for a moment. Then she stepped outside, leaving the Isolation Ward behind.

Spoiler for Left alone, abandoned by love Chapter 5:
Fifteen hours ago…
"Protection." A barrier was erected in front of Kiran, shielding him from Wendi's attack. Wendi froze in shock as her attack completely dissipated. "Limiter release, excellion mode!" A huge magical symbol appeared below Nanoha as she charged a Starlight breaker. "Sein! Now would be a really good time!" "Alright alright!" "Starlight…" Sein's hand then popped out of the ground, pulling Wendi and Ni into it. "Breaker!" The blast eradicated the terrain in front of Nanoha. She scanned the area after the smoke cleared but the cyborgs were gone. "They got away again…" She then turned around the Kiran and Ginga to inspect their wounds. "Teana, have you finished escorting Subaru?" "Yes ma'am! The ambulance has just left." "Kiran has managed to rescue Ginga but the two of them are severely injured. I'll bring them to straight to the hospital since the transport is gone. Meanwhile, go back into the building to see if anybody requires assistance." Nanoha received her understanding and used turned around to the dark red snow. She then called forth her magic to lift Kiran and Ginga up and took off. --- Present time… He had to get out of here. He considered going overdrive and killing Jail while he was at the hideout. 'Heck, I might as well use stage three since I would lose my arms and legs in their current condition if I pushed them further.' He was about to when he heard footsteps coming his way. "Oh, you're awake. I guess that means that your internal elemental core is replenished," the nurse said as she walked over to the tube and started to drain the liquid. He was dumbfounded at her action. Was she going to dress him? If he was going on a rampage he figured he could use some protection, even if it was just cloth. "I didn't know Scaglietti allowed outsiders in his base." "What? No dear, you're at the hospital. This is a camber from your home planet designed to restore internal cores. You really did a number on yours. If you're wondering, we had to expose as much surface area as possible to speed up the process." "Oh... Sorry for my accusation." "It doesn't matter. I just hope you get better soon. Your skin is patching up nicely; the main issue is the internal damage. Scans show that the nerves in your arms and legs are heavily damaged. Main cause of it was from your bones unable to withstand the amount of liquid in them and rupturing. It seems that your body is rejecting the liquid from your elemental core, perceiving it as a threat from what it did previously. You'll have to wait for your nerves and bones to heal naturally." "Alright. Thank you." "We will be putting you to sleep now. During that period we will wrap you in special bandages designed to exert pressure on your bones to hold them together while they heal naturally. After that you will be sent to a normal ward for further observation and healing." "Before you do that, may I know where my devices are?" "Oh, they are undergoing checks at HQ, to see if any major damage was done to them. If they're ok they will be sent to you at your bed. Now, if I may…" "Of course, ma'am." The nurse injected Kiran in the neck as he lost consciousness again. --- "Tea, I'm sorry." "For what? For running ahead instead of listening to Nanoha and me? Or that you got yourself badly hurt and made everyone worry? " "A bunch of stuff." "You better apologize to Mach Caliber later too. She's in pretty bad shape." "Right." "Hey, Ginga's still alive right?" "I think she can come back from that level of damage." "Then you've got a chance to see her. I don't know the exact details but Kiran managed to rescue her, although the both of them are in the intensive care unit now." Subaru's eyes widened as she turned to Teana, blurting out the next few sentences. "Tea, you're not lying right? Gin-nee's at the hospital as well? I've got to see her!" "Hold on! She's still in a coma, the doctors don't know if she'll wake up yet and your leg hasn't fully recovered!" said Teana as she tried to hold Subaru down. "Tea! Let go of me! I just need to confirm that she's safe here!" Just then, a nurse stepped into the room and got the shock of her life when she saw the females hugging. "You! The orange haired girl! The patient needs some rest! Don't harass her!" "I wasn't trying to!" Teana said frantically as she waved her hands in front of her and blushed as she immediately got off Subaru. Subaru then jumped out and ran out of the room. The nurse started to holler and chase after her, leaving Teana in the room alone. 'What am I going to do with the idiot…' Subaru darted pass the other people in the hospital easily, leaving the poor nurse chasing her far behind. She then burst through the doors of the intensive care unit, rushing to Ginga's room. As she barged into the room, the doctor almost dropped his clipboard. "Doctor! Is she going to be fine?.!" "Wha… you're a patient here aren't you? You're going to open those wounds again if you run around like that." "Please… just tell me how she's doing and I promise I will go back to my bed right away." "I hope you will remember what you just said." After a quick nod from Subaru he continued, "There's a large gash on her head and a few broken bones. Most likely she passed out from massive loss of blood. I suspect she can be discharged in a week but no strenuous activities for another three days. When she wakes up her left hand will be unresponsive for a few days due to being completely crushed. Now, please leave as I go to the other patients." Subaru walked out from the unit and back to her bed but not before the nurse saw her and scolded her. --- Kiran woke up three hours after the drug was administered. He slowly looked around and saw that he was in a regulation bed. His arms and legs were still not responding and they were totally covered in bandages. 'Great, now I look like a mummy,' he thought as he turned his head to the desk, seeing Watch and the communicator there. "Watch, how are you?" "Total restoration of my magical core will take another twenty four hours. All other functions are at one-hundred percent." "Alright. Go into sleep mode to speed it up." Watch blacked out as Nanoha walked into the room, Raising Heart floating beside her. "Captain Takamachi, I have yet to thank you and Raising Heart for saving me and Ginga." "Kiran, don't call me that when we're not in the field or at HQ. Anyway, we were just doing our part and I didn't save Ginga. You did and you were willing to sacrifice your life for it." "No, I didn't. I passed out after retrieving the case. The combat cyborgs could easily take her back. I was worthless." "Don't think like that… I know that you gave your all and that's all that matters." Kiran opened his mouth but Nanoha quickly stopped him by saying, "Don't talk, I'll make it an order if I must. Then again, Ginga and Subaru are here so talk to them." She then left the room as they stepped forward. "Kiran… is it true that this happened to you while trying to save me?" "Even so, it does not matter. Nanoha was the one who saved you. I was deadweight." "Don't say that… I looked at the medical report explaining the cause of damage. Previously you didn't want to do anything with me unrelated to work… I thought that you could not stand me but here you just disregarded your life to save mine… I don't know what to say…" "There's nothing to say. You were pretty banged up as well. At least sit down so you won't damage your legs any further." "My injuries are nothing compared to yours… You can't move anything except your neck now… I feel so guilty knowing that this happened because of me." "It wasn't your fault, you were outnumbered three to one. I also fell for their diversion and got separated from you." "If it was anybody's fault its mine!" cried Subaru, tears flowing down her cheeks. "I rushed in without Nanoha and Teana, if not we could have rescued Gin-nee right there and then! I'm sorry Kiran, because of my brashness you had to destroy your body…" "I see that this can go on for a long time…" he began. The sisters looked at each other for a moment before smiling sheepishly. "Um, you now know that we're combat cyborgs as well right?" Subaru started. "I know that a combat cyborg killed your father and…" "It doesn't matter. I know exactly which cyborg it was, I won't mark either of you as one of them." "Alright then, we'll leave you alone to rest," said Ginga as they left. Kiran then closed his eyes, trying to sleep naturally this time. His eyes opened when he heard footsteps in the room. He lifted his head up a little and saw Erio looking at him. "Is there something wrong?" "Ahh... no no, I was just wondering how you were doing. I heard that you could only be discharged in two weeks?" "Yeah, sorry about that. You'll need to wait another two weeks for a roommate." "Uh, don't feel sorry about that. I can wait for you to recover," Erio frantically said as he waved his good arm. "I guess I shouldn't bother you anymore. Goodnight." Kiran returned the greeting as he finally fell asleep, but not before cursing at his limitations. --- "I'm sorry doctor. Our mission was a complete failure," said Nove as she clutched her arm. "Don't worry about it. Your objectives were just optional, I wanted to reclaim the Vessel of Saints and that I did. In fact, what you did caused their recovery force to drop by half so I consider it a success. Worry about your sister now as I finish the upgrades on Ni and Ichi," Jail replied as he tapped the keyboard in front of Ni's regeneration camber. Nove nodded as she slowly walked back to Cinque's camber. Uno appeared on the screen as it flickered in front of the doctor. "There seems to be a problem. The relic is not reacting with the Vessel of Saints as we thought it would. It seems we have to wait for thirteen more days before the scared moon arises to supply the energy needed." "A minor setback, are we able to keep her here till then?" "I'm afraid not. The one-shot memory wipe we have only lasts ten days. There won't be enough time for us to use her to get to the two moons for unlimited power. If we wait any further, there's a chance she might go berserk and unleash the power of the Saint Kaiser. If that happens we cannot subdue her without taking her down for good." "What will go wrong can go wrong huh? Are you suggesting that we send her back to the TSAB until it's time?" "The doctor has always been good at reading us." "Alright, get Tre to send her back without being spotted. Place a tracker hidden in her cells and I'll think of a plan to take her back when the date draws near." The screen then closed as a smirk appeared on the doctor's face. "Ni, how would you like to have Burst Ignition's power in your normal state?" Ni slowly opened her eyes as she answered, "I failed the previous times. I will do whatever it takes to not let you down next time." Jail's laugh then resounded throughout the hideout. --- Ginga was packing her things when Kiran knocked on her door. It had been a week since the incident and Vivio's strange return. Ginga was allowed to be discharged while the doctors wanted Kiran to stay for another week. She granted Kiran entry as he walked in slowly, the special bandages still wrapped around his limbs. "What are you doing here? I'll visit you before I leave, there's no need to worry on that note." "I felt bad that you had to come to me in the previous week. Now that they allow me to move around I should make the most of it." "I never expected you would want to see me voluntary," she teased. Kiran either didn't get it or didn't care. "I also have something to ask you… I noticed that Subaru also wears a headband in battle. Is there a reason why she does that as well? Especially her since she has short hair…" "Oh that, our mother did the same before she passed away. We do it as a memento of her and hope that she watches over us." The two of them had already discussed their parents' death so Kiran didn't apologise. "Alright then, I'll leave you alone to pack up." He then entered his room and sighed. 'Two more sappy people in the world, huh?' he thought as he looked at Watch and remembered his barrier jacket. Hope you enjoyed it!

Due to some of Iron's advice, I'm reposting the fixed 2nd part of chapter 6.
Spoiler for 6/2.1:
]*****Sunday*****
“HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!” Hayate smiled from where she stood. In the center of the room, Nanoha was smiling sheepishly, thanking Subaru and Teana for their gift. Next to her are Fate and Vivio, the Enforcer explaining something to the young child, who looked a bit confused. Signum was talking with Vice, while Shamal seems to be discussing something with Shari and Mariel. Vita was eating something, along with Rein and Agito. Oddly, Zafira seems to have disappeared. Though with Arf’s absence, it wasn’t that hard to guess where the Guardian Beast could have been. Chrono was talking with Verossa, Carim and Schach. Well, more like glaring at Verossa, who had indeed try to flirt with Fate earlier. Although for some reasons Hayate got the impressions that Chrono had been glancing at Carim, while the blond Knight have a faint blush on her face. Must be her imaginations. Then her eyes came across Yuuno. The man was drinking alone at a table, a soft smile on his face. His eyes was roaming around the room, occasionally stopping at the Ace of Aces before moving on. Hayate was glad that he came. If there ever was someone who can qualify for being even MORE of a workaholic then Nanoha, then Yuuno is that person. Honestly, she had lost count of how many times he had collapsed, only to return to work the next day. Sure, he still takes the occasional vacation, but more than once he had stayed overnight to finish his work. Thankfully, Arf had told her that it doesn’t seem to be the case lately. One thing that intrigued her, however, was Yuuno’s reaction. It was… lackluster. He had forgotten about Nanoha’s birthday before, but he would usually panic and start to reschedule most of his work. But he wasn’t like that when she told him about it last Friday. If she didn’t know any better, she would have thought that Yuuno wasn’t even bothered by the fact that he forgot his crush’s birthday. She could tell that something had changed within her friend. His gaze didn’t linger as long as before, his eyes don’t held the same wistful look it once does. It was as if his interest in Nanoha has waned. Then the Queen saw Chrono sitting down opposite to Yuuno. For a while, they sat nothing. Chrono then sat something, which judging by Yuuno’s face, was either a scathing remark or a teasing one. Sighing, Hayate make her way over, hoping to stop the Admiral from going overboard. As she approaches, however, she overheard their conversation. “I just hope she won’t get mad about this.” Yuuno muttered to Chrono “Since you’d told her, I’m sure she’ll understand.” the admiral shrugged. Silence follows his statement, before Yuuno widens his eyes. “Wait, you didn’t tell her?” Yuuno asked “No, I didn’t. I thought you did” Chrono replied. “You were the one who organized this trip!” the blond glared at his friend. “And you’re her most frequent visitor.” Chrono retorted “Who’s she?” Hayate asked nonchalantly. She just couldn’t help herself and she grinned at how Yuuno jumped a bit. “It’s patient #202, Hayate.” Chrono glared. “And keep it down. It’s still being kept a secret.” “Sorry.” The brunette smiled sheepishly, before her face turned serious. “What is it?” “We can’t tell you much, but the short version is that we found one of Jail’s bunkers. Unfortunately, only she knows the password, so we were supposed to bring her there.” The blunet answered with a whisper. “I see… “Hayate muttered, before frowning “And how is Yuuno involved in all of this?” “He drafter me because of my expertise on Lost Logia” This time, it was the librarian who answered her. “Apparently, before Jail started on acquiring the Cradle, he used to collect ancient artifacts.” Hayate nodded. Then a teasing grin make it way onto her face. “Don’t worry Yuuno! I’m sure she’ll forgive you.” “Are you sure?” Yuuno asked, a bit suspicious at Hayate’s grin. “Yup! You’re her husband, after all!” Hayate declared, though thankfully it’s drowned by the sounds. Yuuno choked on his drink. Chrono merely smirked. “True. With the way you kept visiting her, even when she yelled at you not too, the description fits.” “YUUNO!” Before Yuuno can form a response, Nanoha called him over, her hand holding a book. “I can cook you know!” Thankful for the chance, Yuuno hastily make a retreat to his oldest friend, ignoring Hayate and Chrono in the process. Spoiler for 6/2.2:
*****Next Day*****
Breathes In. Breathes Out. In. Out. In. Out. Yuuno chanted in his head as he rides the elevator. Glancing down, he checked the large bag that he had brought with him. Hopefully, this would help him stave of her wraths. When he arrived at the front door, the Librarian was rather puzzled by the guards. “Here to see her, prof?” The one on the right grinned. “Yeah.” Yuuno nodded. “It’s something wrong?” “It’s nothing sir.” The one on the left replied. He remained stoic, but Yuuno could have sworn the man was trembling lightly. Nodding to them, he enter the room. “Good morning Due” Yuuno greeted. Discreetly, he placed the bag near the door. “Yo.” He frowned a bit when he saw her form tensing up. “Due, what’s wrong?” Yuuno asked with a concerned tone. “Are you alright?” “I’m fine.” She replied stiffly. Yuuno frowned. Walking around, he sat down in front of Due. “Are you sure?” “I-I said I’m fine!” Strange. She’s stammering now. Deciding to check her temperature, Yuuno leans in and touches her forehead with his. “Your temperature feels normal” Yuuno muttered to himself “So why is your face all red? Are you sure you’re not…Ow!” Yuuno’s question was cut off when Due headbutted him. Then she grabbed the pillow and start hitting him with it. “Ow! Hey, cut it out! Ow! That hurt, you know!” Yuuno feebly tried to defend himself from her attacks, but it’s rather hard with her enhanced strength. “Shut up shut up shut up!” “Ow ow ow! Okay, that’s it! “The Librarian tackled the Cyborg. Catching her by surprises, Yuuno pin her arms to the side with his own. It was a struggle to keep her down, but somehow Yuuno managed it. “H-h-hey, w-what the? L-l-let me g-go!” Due squeaked. “Calm down.” Yuuno tried to placate the former assassin, but it doesn’t seem to be working. If anything, she looked even more frazzled than before. “T-this isn’t f-funny, you know!” Due shouted. “L-L-Let me go!” “Shhh, keep quiet!” the librarian whispered. ‘Honestly, if this keeps up people might get the wrong idea’. Yuuno thought to himself. ‘If they already haven’t’. “H-h-how can I?” The other blond whispered through gritted teeth back. “You’re too close, idiot!” She squirmed, trying to get free. Yuuno blinked. He didn’t though of that. ‘Well, she is usually so forward that I didn’t think it was the reason. But why though?’ “Hello?! Due to Yuuno!” The Cyborg called out, still struggling underneath him “G-G-Get off me damn it!” “Alright, I’ll get off, but I want you to calm down. Sounds good?” “Just do it already!” Slowly, Yuuno back away from the Cyborg. As he get off the bed, the Cyborg sat up. She seemed to have calm down somewhat, although her breathings were erratic, and her face was still red. “Jeez… Did you have to do that?” The blond grumbled, fixing her clothes “Hey, you’re the one that started it. Why did you suddenly attack me like that though? Did you have a nightmare?” Yuuno averted his gaze from her. It wasn’t intentional, but when he was on top of her… The Librarian immediately clamps down that line of thought. “Well… it wasn’t a nightmare. It was rather… pleasant actually.” Due absentmindedly replied. “Pleasant?” Yuuno raised an eyebrow. ‘Come to think of it, I never ask her what her dreams are about. I wonder…” The Cyborg, for her part, widens her eye, before her face become even redder than before. “Pleasant? I didn’t say pleasant! Whoever said it was pleasant?” “Due?” “It wasn’t pleasant at all! Nope, it was great! No, I mean it was aro-abnormal!” “Eh, Due? You okay there?” “I’m fine! Never better! I’m not thinking about reenacting it! Nope! Not at all” By now, the blond woman looks to be on the verge of hyperventilating. Yuuno wants to calm her down, but his proximity to her was what set it off in the first place, so pinning her down is out. That leave… “Sorry, Due, but this is for your own good. Struggle Bind!” A green circle appear underneath the woman, and from it, several green chains shot out and wrapped themselves around Due. “Due, just slow down and…” Yuuno trailed off. The other blond had let out strangled noise before closing her eyes. “Due?” When he cast a diagnosis spell on her, he find out that aside from fainting, everything else was fine with her. Releasing the binding, Yuuno shifter her body to a more comfortable position, then sat down on the chair next to the bed. Before he can decides his next course of action, a holoscreen popped up, signifying an incoming call. “Arf? Why would she call me?” Yuuno muttered to himself. Seeing as he doesn’t want people to find out about his little trip yet, Yuuno switched the call to voice only mode. “Yuuno? You there?” Arf’s voice came. The Head Librarian noted that his assistant sounds a bit annoyed, with a dash of anxiety. “I’m here. What is it?” “Trouble. Some newbies just messed up the database. We need you here, now.” “How bad it is?” Yuuno frowned. If the database is damaged, then this could be a serious problem. “On a scale from 1 to 10, I’ll say around 4. Thank the Kaiser that the backup is still running, otherwise this could turn into a 7.” “Alright, I’ll get there as soon as I can.” Yuuno said with a sigh of relief. “Right. In the mean time, I’m gonna teach those brats a lesson. And tell me why you’re using voice only later.” Arf hang up. As Yuuno head for the door, his eyes caught the bag he had brought with him earlier. Pausing, he glances back at the bed, only to sigh as the blond had kicked off the blanket. He turn around and gently tuck her in, then placed the bag’s content next to her. “No… don’t…” Due mumbled in her sleep, her face twisted into a grimace. Yuuno frowned. He hated leaving her like this, but the situation at the Library could worsen. A thought ran by, one that he usually would have dismissed. But he had heard somewhere that sometimes, it would droves away nightmares. ‘… Just a peck wouldn’t hurt… Right?’ He tried to convince himself. Gathering his courage, Yuuno leans down and kiss the blond lightly on the forehead. When he pulls up, his face was comparable to the cyborg’s face from earlier. He noticed that she seemed to have calm down somewhat, and her face’s expression is a lot more peaceful now. Leaving the room, he remembered about her panic attack. It might be nothing, but better safe than sorry. “Excuse me.” “Yes sir?” The guard on the left responded. “Could I ask you two a favor? Could you call someone to check up on her later? She panicked earlier. There are some problems at the Library, so I need to return there.” “You can count on us professor.” This time, the more serious guard replied. “Thank you” Yuuno nodded at them, heading for the elevator. |

Teana sighed and shook her head. "Still need to deal with those..." She trailed off and looked at Runessa's body. "I'm sorry, I wish I had known you from before." Teana's words were soft and tinged with sadness as she looked at the downed body. Sighing, she put a hand on Runessa's shoulder and stared as the downed body seemed to stir. "Ru...ne?"
"Ngh... My head..." She looked up at Teana and stared. "...I'm not... Dead?" Teana scratched her chin and sweat-dropped. "Well, honestly, I have no idea why you're alive. I never thought that the spell I used would work. Really, I was fully expecting it to not work or kill you." "Whaaaa?!" Runessa gaped at Teana, her eyes wide and white while tears leaked out of them. "Why would you do that then?!" Teana looked away and shrugged. "I had to do something. Anyway," she narrowed her eyes as she looked out at the Mariage on the street that were marching past them, "we need a plan." "Tea!" Subaru's voice broke through, causing Teana to nearly fall over in shock. "I found someone at those coordinates." Teana narrowed her eyes as she heard that. "Subaru, who did you find?" "Her name's Ixy." "No it's not!" A new female voice spoke up, somewhat flustered, not that Teana blamed her, Subaru could be frustrating at times, "my name is Ixpellia!" "Okay, Ixy." Subaru sent over the link, quite happily, causing both Teana and Ixpellia to groan through the link. "Anyway, Tea, Ixy here has something to tell you." "The Mariage, how many are there?" "Thousands, why?" "Way too many. I'd be more helpful if I had my control core for them." Teana blinked and turned to look at Runessa as she started to cough and heave before... "Eww..." Teana winced as she saw Runessa vomit onto the rooftop. She narrowed her eyes as a black crystal bounced off of the rooftop before floating upwards slowly. "For some reason, Ixpellia, there's this black crystal, it looks like a compass needle and there's a purple glow coming from it, do you..." "That's my control core... How the heck do you have it?" Teana nodded, she was only taking a guess, but she was lucky that it paid off. "Not important, if you had it, could you get these things to stop?" "No. I'm too weak, I was woken up early and I don't have the energy to stop all of them." "I can transfer my magic to you." Subaru offered to help. "My magic's different than yours, it wouldn't work." Ixpellia sighed heavily. "...The sky, it's... It's blue..." Teana blinked and looked to the East as the sun started to rise. "Yeah, it is." She didn't have any idea why that was important. "If you had the control core, what could you do?" "I couldn't stop all of them, but if I had my control core, I could direct the leader units to any area, and the leader units can control the ones they turned into Mariage." Teana's eyes widened as plans started to form. "Subaru, get to my location, right now." "On my way!" Teana touched her belt and closed her eyes as the four talismans started to glow. She was going to need the extra magic to send a telepathic signal across the city and contact everyone who was fighting. "Listen up, everyone. I've got a plan forming, but I need some help still. I have a way to direct these things to a wide open space, but I need some suggestions." "Why a wide open space?" "Because," a third voice answered the second one, Teana wasn't too sure, but the voice sounded kind of familiar to her, "when you fight a group this large, you need a wide open area to destroy them as fast as possible. Unless you want someone to destroy the city..." "Lina, that's enough. Teana, I hope you know what you're doing." "I do, Zelgadis, but I need a suggestion..." "Why not the training park?" Dieci's voice came over the com. Teana blinked as she heard the suggestion. "Dieci?" "The training park is only a few blocks from where I am right now. I've been blowing up the Mariage in the park for some time now. Even if we destroy it, it could be rebuilt easier than destroying the major buildings." Teana nodded, that sounded like a plan. "Alright then, let's make it happen." (---) "Sir?" One of the Ground Forces looked at Auris, who had just been told of the plan. "Should we?" He shut up at the look she gave him. "Yes, sir." "Alright everyone!" Voltz yelled to the troops. "You heard the plan, let's mow these things down and try to make our way towards the park." Auris threw her hand to the side. "Crush them all, don't let a single one through!" "Yes, sir!" Voltz chuckled as he saw the Ground and Rescue Forces snipe the Mariages, forcing them back slowly. "Say, is it just me, or have they slowed down?" Auris adjusted her glasses and looked at the group. "They may be made from the bodies of the dead, but it seems that they're similar to a familiar." "So, they need a constant stream of magic to keep going then," Voltz said as Auris nodded, "sheesh! Considering how many there are, the amount of magic being supplied must have been enormous." Auris nodded and wondered just who could do such a thing anyway. (---) Meanwhile... "That stupid idiot..." A woman said as she looked upon the battlefield, sighing heavily. "Really, revealing yourself to this group was just crazy..." "Uri, is that you?" A male voice spoke up, causing Uri to turn around and nod to the person behind her. "Hello, Abby." Her blue hair danced in the early morning breeze as she leaned against the wall. "Lyla was around." She nodded at his twitch. "I don't think she was personally involved, but, you never know with her." Abby crossed his arms over his chest and grumbled. "Something's coming isn't it?" Uri nodded to him. "So, what is it?" "Not sure, I think when Garoth revealed himself that things changed." She turned around and narrowed her eyes. "Is it just me, or does everything feel wrong?" "It's not just you." Abby snorted as he walked up to her. "A Shinzoku from another universe is running around." Uri looked at him, her eyes narrowed in anger. "Don't worry, he's not here searching for anyone in particular, nor is he here trying to screw stuff up." "Good." Uri sighed and looked out at the city as explosions and flashes of light filled the air. "Do you think we should have done more for this universe?" Abby shrugged at her. "Does it matter? Humans will do what they want no matter what. In the end, so long as the seals aren't broken, why should we care?" Uri disappeared after that, she didn't want to tell him that she was tired of letting things play out in front of them. Abby sighed as he felt her anger. "Foolish..." He wasn't sure who he was talking to anymore. (---) Meanwhile... Ixpellia looked out to the East as the sun continued to rise through the air slowly. "...So beautiful." She had never seen a sky that wasn't covered in black smog, warships and fire. "Is this how it is these days?" Subaru chanced a look out to the East and blinked a few times. "It's so common that I never paid attention to it. Why?" "The last time I was awake, the skies were always dark and red, smog and battleships filled the air." Ixpellia took a deep breath as the two raced into the city. "Tell me, Subaru, what is life like in this day and age?" "Generally not this crazy." Subaru muttered as she looked at the Mariage below. "...They're moving slower than usual." "My power is weak," Ix began to explain, "the more energy I have available, the stronger they are. The one who was using them had much more magical power than I ever had." She sighed heavily and buried her head into Subaru's chest. "I only needed a force about a tenth of this to destroy entire worlds before." "Why?" Subaru blinked as she looked down at the smaller girl. "You don't seem like a bad kid. Why would you do that?" "I never wanted to, but my people were being threatened by outside interests." She looked up and Subaru could only stare at the dead look in her eyes. "I needed to protect them... I was the only one who had enough magical power to do something, anything... I didn't want my people to suffer and die. And I was young enough that the process was mostly painless for me." Subaru didn't say anything as they continued to race into the city. "So, how come they didn't seem too dangerous?" "They're confused." Ix said as she looked out at the skyscrapers. "They sense that I'm alive, but they sense that I'm not in control, so they have no real idea what to do. If I had the control core and was controlling them, then even a few hundred of them would have wiped this planet clean by now." Subaru blinked at her. "Are you sure?" Ix nodded to her. "Unless you have people who can level entire cities with magic, then yes." "Well, actually..." Subaru trailed off at Ixpellia's stupefied look. "Hey, don't look at me, but one of my instructors is a SS class mage..." "That means nothing to me." Ixpellia interrupted Subaru and turned her head to look ahead of them. "I think we're there." Subaru blinked and looked up, nodding as she saw Dieci and Teana on a rooftop looking out at the park, "yeah," the cyborg nodded as she zipped down to them. "Tea, Dieci, what's the situation?" "We've been crowding them this way, but it's hard, some of them aren't..." Teana trailed off as the control core that she had been guarding suddenly zipped towards the girl in Subaru's arms before it entered her chest. There was a brief flash of light that forced Teana to close her eyes shut for a moment. "So, now what?" "Now?" Ixpellia looked at Teana seriously, "we destroy my Mariage." |

Previously: Chrono knowing how to say in a entrance, the same but stronger feeling of actually not having Nanoha rescuing Ixpelia (at least I expected her recalling the last -- and I think only, due to her reputation -- time she was called "Ixy", and using a Mazoku for a new twist in an old case. Long time no read about Abby. I know there's the exaplanation part on Runessa being alive, but why didn't Teana know if the Ra Tilt was going to harm Runessa's body or not? (I don't remember if the spell should hit her in the physical plane or not but I don't buy Teana not knowing the abilities of the spell) |

Spoiler for Author's notes:
Author's notes: Ugh... The part of the epilogue which I've done so far has a serious plot hole... I only realised this after re-reading SSX (Spoiler for general content?). Not to mention the final chapter also got affected. Therefore, they may be released later than expected but I'll see how much homework I have for the holidays.
Now then, back to the story! Disclaimer: I do not own anything related to MGLN StrikerS, whether it is the anime, manga or sound stage. --- Chapter on animesuki --- Author's notes: I've been thinking for a while, should I do an omake if I have the time? Maybe you guys/girls can send me questions that were not answered and I'll do so, provided they won't be in the prequel/sequels (which don't even have a single chapter typed out, but I do have the general plan for them). If there aren't many maybe I'll put in some outtakes? Anyway, thanks for your attention and see you all next time. Direct link to fanfiction.net's Holiday in two weeks time...

Continuing to put things to paper, in order to keep my writing going. And since a couple of people had indicated interest in seeing this continue, I thought it was time to update it! Remember that this is one of the sequels to Crisis and Red Jewel Diaries.
Magical Lyrical G-Squad Chapter 2: Homecoming Chapter 1 can be found here, if you need the refresher. Spoiler for Magical Lyrical G-Squad, Chapter 2: Homecoming:
Magical Lyrical G-Squad Chapter 2: Homecoming Xx~~*~~xX "Entering the outer atmosphere now," Alto's voice relayed through the communication channel, from her position in the pilot seat of the shuttle. In the cockpit of her golem, Terra, Arisa double-checked her readings, holding on to the control sticks as the turbulence grew rougher. She glanced out a side window, the reddish glow of atmospheric friction catching her attention against the white of the transport. She couldn't help but think of America's shuttle whenever she saw the new shuttle the golem squad was using as their main transport; except the wings extended from the top of the craft, instead of the bottom. Even the size was roughly similar, although more advanced Mid-Childa technology meant it could easily exit and enter the atmosphere and go anywhere on a planet without refueling. Currently, her golem was attached to the underside of the left wing, against the body, as the shuttle also doubled as a transport for the magical mecha themselves. Arf's golem was under the right wing, while Vice's was in fighter mode attached to the top, and Otto's was folded up in it's protective cocoon underneath. The arrangement enabled the golems to save their magical battery power entirely for combat, although with any luck, it wouldn't be needed on this particular trip. "Roger, all systems still green," Arisa reported through her head piece, glad that she was strapped in for this. "Though I still don't see why we couldn't just teleport down." "We've been over this several times, Arisa-chan," Suzuka chided from her position as passenger inside the shuttle. As the head technician for the team, she had insisted on coming along in case any repairs or adjustments were needed for the golems. "We have to avoid as much magic display as possible, and the magic circles involved in teleportation would definitely cause some on Earth to question things." "This also allows Earth to track us, which was part of the deal," Admiral Lindy Harlaown added, also in the shuttle. "The Bureau makes it a point to try and respect local planetary customs and rules with the official first contact, and we have to make a good impression." "Just relax and enjoy the ride," Vice agreed, his voice the picture of calm in a turbulent ride. "This is all part of the fun!" "And we should be coming out of the turbulence in a moment," Alto announced, and true to her word, the shaking finally subsided. "Extending wingtips for atmospheric flight. ETA for the UN in New York is approximately 15 minutes." The line went silent again, and Arisa casually muted it from her side and sighed, watching the wing above her stretch out to twice its previous length. "Is there a problem, Arisa Bannings?" Terra inquired. The AI had been getting more and more cognizant of Arisa's moods, the more they spent time together. "I sense you are troubled. Is the mission not to your satisfaction?" "No, I just wished we could have visited the base in Japan first," she replied, talking about the diplomatic headquarters the Bureau had set up on Earth. "I wanted to see my parents first, but I suppose that will have to wait." It was her parents that had purchased the land and built the embassy compound there for the Bureau personnel to stay, although the pair were often off on various trips for their company. "I haven't been back to Earth since I left with Suzuka to Mid-Childa a couple of years ago." "I am sure they miss you, too, and are similarly displeased at a delayed reunion," Terra tried to comfort, which Arisa found oddly disconcerting and simultaneously uplifting. "I am sure they will be paying attention to Admiral Harlaown's speech at the United Nations Assembly and might possibly see you there." "Thanks, but it's still not-" Chrono's urgent voice over the communications channel cut her off. "We're detecting multiple incoming objects to your location!" "Acknowledged," Alto replied, and Arisa could imagine the other woman frantically hitting switches as she banked the shuttle roughly. "Too small to be piloted, looks like missiles, about twenty of them. They'll reach us in four minutes. Did you get a read on the launching point?" "Not exactly," Chrono confessed. "Somewhere in the Atlantic Ocean, looks like. Do you want us to intervene?" "Not yet, Admiral, I want to keep the Ventek's capabilities a secret for now," Lindy countered, naming the Bureau ship in orbit. Arisa heard a smile in that voice. "But thanks. I think we can take this moment to demonstrate our position, however. Captain Bannings, if you will." "Right," she called back immediately, switching into a command mode. "Vice, detach and intercept. Otto you stayed hooked up, but prepare for point defense. Terra, release docking clamps and engage the magnetic seals. Alto, can you slow us down some?" She concentrated on climbing over on top of the shuttle in order to get a better field of fire. "They'll catch up to us faster, but reducing speed now," the shuttle pilot responded. "I'm away," Vice announced, and Arisa spared a glance to watch his golem, currently in fighter mode, veer away from the shuttle. His was the fastest and most maneuverable in the air, and she was counting on his crack shooting skills to take out as many as he could. "At these speeds, I'll only have one pass, though. Coming into range now... Storm Raider, all weapons active." "What about me?" Arf asked, eager for action. Arisa had known the dog woman when she was still Fate's familiar, and although Arf had once retired, her new incarnation as a guardian beast had reinvigorated a powerful desire to get back into the action. "Negative, stay where you are," Arisa ordered back as concentrated on having Terra climb over the wing and take up position on top of the shuttle. "Your Fenrir golem is the least maneuverable in the atmosphere." Although it could fly (each of their golems was capable of flight), Fenrir specialized in ground combat. Vice's sleek fighter opened up with several green beams as he approached the swarm of missiles, and Arisa registered several explosions on her monitor. Vice radioed that he had take out 12, and then he was passed them and banking back around, but Arisa knew there was no way he'd catch back up again before the missiles reached their target, despite his speed. She focused on her HUD, activating her magical artillery salvo launchers. Outside, long rectangular boxes folded open from her golem's legs, while another pair unfolded from her shoulders. Ordinarily, this weaponry was designed to saturate an area with many small attacks and such would be useless against heavier defenses. But she knew Earth missiles were fragile enough that it didn't take much to incapacitate one. Terra did her best to acquire locks, however the relative speeds were making it difficult; she was just going to have to saturate the air and hope her and Otto could take them all. The range counted down, and then Arisa depressed the trigger. Dozens of very thin blue beams erupted from their ports on the boxes, arcing towards swarm and saturating the air. The sky lit up with several bright blossoms as the arcing laser-like blasts found their mark. Several explosions registered on her panel, temporarily obscuring her sensors, making her wonder exactly how many she got. "IS: Ray Storm!" Otto announced, firing her own emerald beams through her golem, the magical battery amplifying the control and power of her shots. Otto's golem lacked weaponry, being specifically designed to work with her internal system. "All targets neutralized." Arisa allowed herself a relieved exhale. "Good job all. Vice, we'll be there soon, so just follow us in." "I'm reading more bogies approaching our position," he relayed. "They appear to be American F-22 Raptors." Arisa raised an eyebrow; had America itself been the attackers, and were now trying to finish them off? Why? She had her answer as a new voice sounded on the open channel. "This is Captain Frenz of the United States Air Force," a male voice announced. "You are commanded to cease hostilities and return to your scheduled flight path." "Hostilities?" Arisa blurted out, incredulous. "We were attacked!" "Captain Bannings, I will handle this," Lindy admonished from the shuttle. "Captain Frenz, as you no doubt registered, we recently fended off an attack, but we will comply with a return to the flight path. Please relay our apologies to your commanding officers." There was silence for a moment, before the voice came back. "We will escort you Stewart Air National Guard Base as planned. Please do not detour. We will ensure your safe arrival." "Thank you, Captain," Lindy replied, then Arisa heard a click which signaled that the Admiral had switched to internal frequencies. "Well, what do you think?" "A test of our capabilities?" Vice conjectured. “If I were in their position, I might want to subtly see what an unknown force was capable of.” "We have demonstrations planned for later this week," Suzuka noted. "They would have seen us in action then, so I don't think so." "Seeing how we cope with the unexpected?" Arf suggested. “And the demonstrations wouldn't show everything we can do.” Neither answer really felt right to her, but Arisa kept her mouth closed for the moment. Lindy spoke up again. "Well, we'll keep our eyes and ears open, and see if the Americans have any intel for us. In the meantime, I think the danger is passed for now. Let's look ahead. And Arisa, Suzuka... happy homecoming!" That forced a chuckle out of the short-haired blonde. Happy homecoming, indeed. x~~*~~x "It didn't work," Yukoshi commented, watching the news channel covering the "alien arrival." He glanced warily sideways at his relaxed guest, treating his office as if she owned it. He had to admit, though, that she might as well have. Amaretsu shrugged, the loose straps of her white dress somehow managing to remain on her shoulders as she swirled the sake in it's small dish. "I admit, I didn't quite expect it to, but we didn't lose much in trying. And we gained valuable intel on those golems." "Not much," Yukoshi cautiously offered, still studying her out of the corner of his eye, looking to glean any idea as to her powers and intent. "I still don't see why we don't make a contract with this outer space bureau. They are offering many technologies and protection in response to joining, and there aren't many downsides." "That is not an option," she stated flatly, her eyes holding the hint of a glare. "I told you that it is our mission to see to it that these bureau people leave Earth totally alone. That means no one making contracts." Yukoshi didn't comment on that. Even though he led the largest yakuza crime family in Japan, or perhaps because of it, he knew when to keep his mouth shut. He wasn't quite sure who exactly this Amaretsu was and what power she commanded, but his predecessor had risen his hand against her and had paid the price. Yukoshi was only sixty percent sure the body was somewhere at the bottom of the Sea of Japan. He had been second in command of the Golden Dragons, but he had occasionally seen her hanging around his predecessor, the old man who had run the Golden Dragons for nearly 50 years. However, at those times, she had merely stood in the background, as if tiredly observing as the old man had given orders to Yukoshi. Several days ago, he had come in to find the old man gone, and her standing there. “Congratulations, Yukoshi, you are the new leader of the Golden Dragons,” she had told him with a sly smile on her face. She casually sauntered over to the window, letting the moonlight bathe her in luminescence as she turned and gazed at him with eyes that seemed to pierce his soul. “I do hope you don't disappoint me. I'd have to make another appointment so soon.” And then she had disappeared, faded away like wisps of smoke. She had connections, of that he was sure; not only with the crime families like the Triad across the sea, but also with various governments. When she said something would happen, it did. Her power was immense, but she seemed to only ever exercise it from the shadows. Was she really the Goddess of the Sun? Or was it merely an assumed name, meant to convey her assumed status? Whatever it was, her very presence charged the air and left him with no doubt that she did have power. "I'll just have to be more subtle about evicting them," she reasoned aloud, but more to herself than to the man sharing the office with her. "They'll eventually return to their embassy in Japan, so I'll focus on them here where I have more power. The Asian territories are my domain." He raised his eye at that, noting that her power and reach did have limits. But what were the exact nature of those limits? It implied there was a reason she didn't have power elsewhere, which meant someone, or a group, held power over her. Yukoshi filed it away for later contemplation. It would require much thought, as a single misstep would awaken the tiger in this woman. There would definitely be no second chances. She finally turned towards him, gracing him with a smile that sent chills down his spine. "Now, my dear Yukoshi, there are some things I want you to do for me...." x~~*~~x "I still don't like this," Arisa spouted gruffly, crossing her arms over her chest as the long, black limousine they were riding in traveled along the streets of New York city, various crowds cheering or booing them. The revelation of extraterrestrials was having the result she expected on the population. They had left Vice, Suzuka, and the others back at the air base with the shuttle and golems, taking this complimentary diplomatic limousine to the UN where the admiral and leader of the Bureau diplomatic mission would give her speech to the world, and the gathered governments. Hopefully, it would alleviate some of the worry about their arrival and presence. In the meantime, a simple spell pre-loaded into Terra, her AI now in dog-tag form around Arisa's neck, had made sure any spying devices were neutralized. "The mission or the travel arrangements?" Lindy asked diplomatically with an amused smile. "The latter," she replied, scanning the crowds for signs of trouble. But she might as well have been trying to find a needle in a haystack. "I know you wanted to travel light in order for Earth to trust you more, but as your head of security, it's my job to worry about these things. I just feel we're a bit too vulnerable like this. We should have at least brought one golem." While she was head of security and immediate commander of the four golems, General Adams in the Ventek was still overall commander of combat forces. However, mostly that meant a couple squads of enforcers with gun devices, vehicles, and military support personnel. It was a small command post that Arisa might have thought was a demotion for the General, but he seemed amicable about the assignment. "You sound so much like my son," Lindy mused, earning a roll of the eyes from the blonde-haired woman. "Always a stickler for rules and procedure. Although Amy has managed to soften him up some, for which I'm grateful." The smile faded slightly. "But this is how things have to be handled. Earth isn't my first mission where I revealed the reality of the universe to the natives. We can only build a good, solid relationship with trust, and having a golem flying over us would give the impression we're conquerors." "I just don't like walking into things blind and unprotected," Arisa replied bluntly. "You don't know Earth as well as I do. I sometimes wonder if they are ready for this. All it takes is one nutball... and sometimes it's a global conspiracy group that has a load of missiles." "I'm not exactly vulnerable, Arisa," Lindy reminded her, holding up a finger. Arisa put her hands together and made flapping motions with her fingers. "Yeah, but the moment you put up a shield or barrier, you sprout wings. That's going to be a wee bit hard to shrug off. You're supposed to be human; a non-magical human. Aliens will be hard enough for my planet. Magical aliens will blow their minds." "I'm glad I have you, then!" the jovial admiral replied, then glanced out the window. "And well, we shouldn't be totally blind, as I have a couple of operatives looking into things. Look, we're here!" Arisa blinked. "Operatives? What operatives?" She let out a near-grumbling frustrated sigh as the car stopped and the door opened to cheering crowds, and Lindy stepped out, waving. Arisa sighed and did her bodyguard thing, walking just behind and to the right of the seemingly-naive admiral as she walked to the red carpet into the building. x~~*~~x "...over a hundred years, the Time-Space Administration Bureau has helped foster peace and cooperation among a hundred different worlds," Lindy was saying from the podium where she was addressing the UN, while Arisa watched from a special VIP booth nearby. "We're not an army, but a space police organization. We don't interfere in worlds that don't want us to; indeed, we only go where we are wanted, and then only to help." "Not an army?" the Russian delegate questioned in disbelief. '"Then what do you call that ship up there? What do you call those walking tanks you brought with you?" Though he spoke thick Russian, Arisa was wearing a standard Earth headset where a human translator translated the words after a short delay. It was provided by the U.N. Staff, but Arisa didn't tell them that Russian was one of the languages she spoke and understood. And she also didn't tell them that a magical program woven into devices, allowed instant understanding of all of Earth's languages. It didn't matter if it was Russian or Farsi that was spoken; each member of the Bureau team would hear it in whatever language was easiest for them. Lindy let a small smile show. "The Ventek is merely our transportation, and any weapons we bring with us are for self-defense only, although we are open to assisting with humanitarian efforts if requested. Also, we are willing to share some of our advanced technology and medical techniques with countries that would welcome our presence." "At what cost?" the American representative inquired. "We're entitled to your benevolence, only if we give up the right to self-governance?" "Not quite, but full details can be worked out in negotiation," Lindy replied. "Really?" Arisa almost blurt out, but then quieted her voice back down. “Are you really going to look a gift horse in the mouth?” “That's Senator Armstrong,” came Suzuka's voice in her earpiece. She was still back at the base, helping to safeguard their shuttle and golems. “Remember, I told you that America would feel threatened by all of this.” “I know, I know,” Arisa replying, shrugging it off. She continued to scan the crowd via the other monitors, looking for the operatives that Lindy had mentioned previously. But without knowing who they were, she realized there would be little chance she'd notice them. It bothered her, but she trusted Lindy. "We have a few different arrangements with different planets, the most common being un-administered world status, which is what we currently consider Earth," the diplomatic admiral continued from the podium "It simply means we take a hands-off approach, unless directly requested. Anything more than that is up to you. We are just approaching you now, because we feel Earth has advanced enough to know what lies out there. We've seen your work on various spaceflight technologies, and know that you will soon take your place among the stars, like so many other worlds. We'd rather that be a peaceful event, with you knowing what awaits you, so your people can make the best choice for themselves." "And if we decide it is in our best interests for you to leave and never come back?" the British delegate questioned. Lindy was unfazed. "Freedom is your right, as we recognize with all sentient life. If all of Earth wishes us to go, then we shall. But for now, the Japanese government has been kind enough to lend us space for an embassy, and it is our hope that, regardless of the direction of our relationship, we can keep it open to maintain the lines of communication, just as the rest of your countries do for each other.” She paused as various murmurs filled the U.N. auditorium from various representatives conferring with each other. It was also to give time for the translators to catch up. “When will negotiations begin?” the Chinese delegate asked, which provoked a bigger furor that forced the Attorney General of the UN to try and restore order. Once more, Suzuka piped into Arisa's earpiece. “Figures. It looks like the Republic of China is eager to sign up. They want to set up factories in China and copy the technology, just like they do with any other company. Being the first would bring prestige and power, enabling them to catch up and surpass the US.” “Which is a big reason why the US is against this, I know, you said that already,” Arisa droned, giving up her search of the crowds and returning to the speech as Suzuka mumbled an apology over the channel. “We would prefer to negotiate with all the countries of Earth as a whole, through this assembly,” Lindy answered tactfully, refusing to rise to the bait, making Arisa add some more grudging respect for her. “But if that isn't possible, we are prepared to begin limited individual negotiations, once we hear back from all of Earth's governments.” She paused to smile warmly, not incidentally looking directly at the camera. “But it is our hope, that this will be the beginning of a grand friendship that benefits all.” [No doubt about it,] Arisa throught to herself, shaking her head. [She knows how to play the game.] She paused to note that the auditorium had quieted down considerably, although she also noted that Armstrong was conferring with an aide, and frowning unhappily. [Let's just hope she knows how to play it well enough to succeed.] x~~*~~x An hour later, that notion of “success” was put into doubt, on their trip back to the Air Force base from the UN building. “Unknown on motorcycle heading straight for D1!” Arisa and Lindy stared at each other with the announcement from one of the agents in the motorcade; D1 was the call-sign for the diplomatic limo they were traveling in! Immediately, Arisa was in motion, drawing her handgun and relaying orders to increase speed, even though she knew the limo would never outrun a motorcycle. And the high-pitched whine of the motorcycle's engine, let her know that the machine approaching them was well-tuned for speed. The guard agents on the motorcycles and other vehicles guarding their limo were swerving and beginning to open fire, but the unknown assailant was deftly dodging and taking them out, one by one. Arisa absently wondered who this guy was, while double-checking the charge on her magic stun gun, verifying it was at 100%. The weapon was relatively new, developed as a “dumb” weapon that held a small magical charge, yet fired energy bullets that could knock an individual unconscious. She switched it to fire off a wide burst; she wasn't about to take any chances as she prepared to pop the sunroof. “Second bogey approaching, just as rapidly!” came another announcement. “Appears to be two individuals on this one.” Before Arisa could even begin to process this new information, Lindy interrupted on the channel. “Ignore the second, they are friendlies. Concentrate on the first.” The woman who was supposed to be head of the Admiral's security detail, shot a look at her commander, but Lindy was merely glancing at a data pad in her hand. “Admiral, what are you-” But there was no time to finish her sentence; she could see the enemy cyclist approaching, through the darkened, privacy-glass-tinted rear window. Relying on her sense of timing, Arisa slid open the sunroof and pointed, releasing the stored up charge in a single wide shot. Her sense of elation rose as the expanding wave of yellow energy approached it's target, covering the entire width of the road from guard rail to guard rail. But the feeling promptly faded as the motorcycle suddenly shot into the air on tongues of flame. [A turbo boost!?] she thought incredulously while she rushed to prepare another shot. The downside of the mode she had selected, was that it took awhile for the magical capacitors to store up enough energy. That was when the airborne cyclist fired several shots, forcing Arisa to duck down under cover the limo's bulletproof plating. She seethed and prepared to pop back up for another shot, but the limo driver yanked hard to the side to dodge the assailant coming down on them, and the gun went flying from her hand as she was jerked around in the cabin. Thunk! Arisa felt something hit the car door, but it took her a moment to realize it wasn't the motorcycle; it had landed nearby, and was now speeding away. No, in that split second, her mind had determined the sound was much too light, and had to have been something smaller. [A magnetic bomb!] her mind suddenly realized. And she had no idea how powerful it was, although she guessed that it had a very short fuse; could she even get to it in time? Before she could begin climbing onto the roof, a shadow cast itself upon her, and she glanced up to see the second motorcycle also in the air, and then one of the occupants leap off, a sword raised with both hands and a long pony tail trailing above from under the helmet. Arisa instinctively brought Terra in knife mode, but she realized a moment later that the helmeted blade-wielder wasn't aiming for her... but for the side of the limo that the previous cyclist had just departed from. In one smooth motion, she (and Arisa presumed it was a she) landed on the side of the limo, swiped quickly with her blade, then rebounded off the automobile. Grabbing ahold of the side of the sunroof, Arisa averted her eyes as the bomb exploded shortly after being dislodged. The limo careened sideways due to the concussive force of the blast, slamming into the opposite guard rail, sending half-exposed blonde flying out of the sunroof. She retained enough presence of mind to break her fall by tumbling through the grass and dirt, but ended up with several scrapes and cuts as her movement was promptly aborted by several bushes on the other side of the guard rail. And suddenly everything was quiet again, save for the muted sound of burning in the distance, and the approaching sirens. Painfully, Arisa pulled herself upright and held her sprained arm as she braced her body against a tree, and then began to trek back up the short incline to check on Lindy. She shook her head, internally cursing that her hearing was damped due to the earlier blast, but knowing it would eventually return. In the meantime, she had to check on her commander. Lindy was now outside the car, directing people to put out fires and help the injured. But Arisa was dumbstruck that there wasn't a mark on the woman; her uniform wasn't even scuffed! The Admiral seemed to realize she was there, and turned and smiled. “Oh, there you are; are you alright? You should really learn to wear your seat belt. Anyway would you assist me in treating the wounded?” Arisa just stared. x~~*~~x "We've identified the missile as a BrahMos type," Chrono announced from the holoscreen. A second holoscreen held various images and schematics of the weapon they were attacked with. Now safely back in Japan, in the embassy building set aside for them by the Japanese government, a closed door meeting had been called to discuss the latest intelligence on the, not one, but two “incidents” that day. Arisa had to bark a short laugh at the term used to describe the twin attempts on their lives. "I know what is is," she stated in response to Chrono, staring at it. In both her position as head of security for the diplomatic mission, and as a personal hobby, she knew much about Earth's weapons systems. "Co-developed by India and Russia. 290 kilometer range, travels at mach 2.8 to 3.0, and we were below 15 kilometers, and thus in it's range. The characteristics fit." Something else was nagging at her, however she quite place her finger on it. "Furthermore, the Ventek was able to record a visual confirmation, although the missiles lacked any markings," Chrono concurred. "We've furnished this evidence to the American, Russian, and Indian governments, however the latter two have denied any knowledge of launching the attack. The Americans are a bit more interested, but don't seem to be in a hurry to ruffle international feathers at this time." "They are still in a bit of shock from the realization they aren't the number power on the planet anymore," Suzuka added, politics being her side hobby. "At least, there is the possibility that they might not be, if other countries sign on with the Bureau. They want our technology, but not our oversight. If we were shot down, they could analyze our scrap." "But the only technology we'd offer directly would be mundane," Vice stated in a questioning tone. "Enhanced manufacturing, energy, food, and clean water generation. Things to bring their standard of living up. Defensive technology would simply be in the treaty to defend them in the event of attack." "And spaceflight, eventually," Lindy added. "They are going to get out there, and then they will have access to other worlds, and other places to get technology. The hope is that, seeing that they aren't alone in the universe, the countries of Earth would band together more. But it may take time before that happens." "Which will only happen if we stay, and that leaves us with the parties behind this attack," Chrono said, bringing the discussion back to the main topic. Suddenly, it hit her, and Arisa's eyes widened. "Wait! The attack was launched from the sea! The BrahMos missile was slated to undergo modifications to allow it be launched from a submarine, but it's not supposed to have that capability yet!" She paused thoughtfully. "At least, that's what the official reports state." "And according to our contacts in Hong Kong, no one knows how so many missiles got out undetected," Kyoya supplied. "There was some noise about an internal investigation, but it doesn't seem to be happening. The gut feeling is that any investigation won't find anything." Arisa eyed them again, still in a bit of a shock to see Kyoya and Miyuki a part of this; she hadn't yet had a time to talk with them more privately, but it was on her to-do list. Why hadn't Lindy told her that these were the secret operatives she had hired? She was supposed to be the head of security for this little operation! Suzuka glanced uncertainly around the table. "So we're back to square one?" "Let me take a small team, perhaps Arf and Kyoya, and we'll infiltrate the BrahMos corporation," Arisa stated confidently. "We'll find out where the missiles came from and who fired them." All eyes turned to Lindy, who seemed to consider it, and then shook her head. "No. We're here to build trust, and any break-in will point back to us, since we were the target of the attack." "But the countries of Earth do that to each other all the time!" Arisa protested. "And we wouldn't get caught; they wouldn't even know we were there!" "No, captain," Lindy repeated, putting emphasis on the title. Arisa knew that meant Lindy's decision was final, and that Arisa was close to crossing the line. "If someone is working against us, they will try again, and in doing so, expose more of themselves. If it was an isolated incident, then we don't have much to worry about. From what I read, both Russia and India will be very nervous about the use of so many of their highly-developed missile. I'll work through back diplomatic channels to see if I can glean anything." Chrono coughed politely. “In the meantime, we are left with the second incident.” “We received Lindy's request several months ago, and we've been paying attention to the underworld ever since,” Kyoya started to explain. “Miyuki and I had had just managed to inflitrate a building, when the assassin left on motorcycle. We persued, and the rest you know. And I'm sorry he got away.” the man appeared genuinely apologetic, but he sobered up. “Oddly, there was considerably chatter only days after the Bureau had made the decision to send a delegation to Earth, long before you guys showed up in orbit and announced yourselves.” The implication was clear, but Vice stated it anyway. “Somehow, they knew we were coming?” Kyoya nodded, and Arisa couldn't help but notice that Miyuki stayed quiet, seemingly deferring to her brother to handle the explanations. “We still can't say how, but we did hear that one of the groups we've been tracking for a long time, the Clover Leaf organization, had hired an assassin. The trail of bread crumbs indicated an attack during your trip back, and that led to our infiltration of a warehouse building in downtown New York. The FBI and CIA are combing it over now, but I don't they'll find anything.” “And our route was supposed to be a secret until that day,” Arisa noted. She frowned. “I don't like this; it smells too much like someone knows what we're going to do, shortly after we make plans.” “Arisa-chan, you're not suggesting we have a spy in our midst, are you?” Suzuka questioned with a hesitant voice. Silence descended on the table, and the air became a bit charged as everyone glanced warily at everyone else. Arisa's gaze snapped over to Lindy; was this why she hadn't said anything about Kyoya and Miyuki? Did she already suspect they might have been compromised? Judging by how quickly a force had launched that first attack, it felt like someone on Earth knew they were coming, but no one should have... which would have pointed to either someone on the expedition, or someone in the Bureau on Mid-Childa. Lindy shook her head and placed her hands on the table. “I trust everyone here,” she stated with a firm finality. “There are other ways information could be obtained. True, it does imply that someone on Earth has contact with someone in the Bureau, but that's part of why I hired Kyoya and Miyuki to help us. Not only are they fine bodyguards, but they know Earth's criminal underground well. If there is a conspiracy here, they'll find it.” Her lips turned upward into a wry smile. “And besides, we knew going in that not everyone would be glad to see us. On every world the Bureau has visited for the first time, there have always been some natives who felt differently. The smile disappeared as she folded her hands together, resting her arms on the table, all signs of the admiral's normally jovial manner absent. “However, the implications still remain and are quite clear: Someone on Earth doesn't want us here, and seems to be going to great lengths to make us go away. But they won't deter us; we have a job to do, and I mean to do it.” x~~*~~x Author's notes: Beginning with this chapter, I'm gonna detail a bit of information about each golem, their capabilities and what they are based on; mainly for those gundam and mecha fans out there. Starting with: Golem: Terra Pilot: Arisa Bannings Based on(appearance): the stereotypical Gundam design, such as the Strike Gundam from Gundam Seed Capabilities: Being the original prototype, Terra is an all-around model with versatility at its heart. It's standard weapon is the Magical Positron Gun, which fires single shots at medium range, as well as a "Full-charge" that dumps considerably more magic into a single beam, but that requires a shorter range to target. Lastly, the gun has an energy beam bayonet for close range. For multiple targets, the artillery arrays which unfold on it's shoulders and legs unleash dozens of thin blue beams which home onto locked targets or saturate a given area. Capable of receiving equipment modifications based on mission assignments, Terra is also the only golem that's currently equipped with a Relic, which charges the magical battery slowly over time. |

A few minutes ago...
"So, you understand the plan then?" Zelgadis asked as he held up his hand, firing a powerful blast of concentrated wind to the Mariage in front of them. He sighed as the others nodded and, instead of trying to get around the Mariage and force them one way, were driving into them as if the Mariage were a giant pool or something. At least it made sense with Kuma, since he could get in and out before most anyone could blink, Zelgadis shrugged and unsheathed his sword and ran into the crowd of Mariage himself. Ducking a swing for his head, he slashed upward, cutting the Marriage in half as he spun and lobbed off three heads before elbowing one in the stomach and sending her flying backwards. "Lybrim." Zelgadis swung his arm in an arc, freezing all the Mariage around him in an instant. Sure, the spell didn't have that great of range, but the fact that it could freeze anything that had a physical body instantly was more useful than most ice spells. Up in the air, Kyrie frowned as she watched the Mariage move. "They're moving slower." That wouldn't be nearly as much fun. After all, slicing up things that were barely able to move just wasn't as much fun as trying to outmanuver enemies that could move pretty fast or could take a hit like those weird robots from awhile ago did. "There's still a lot, you know." Amitie yelled up at her and pointed her Zapper behind her, shooting off ten shots and taking out several of the Mariage that were starting to shamble up behind her. "If you're not careful..." "I know, I know..." Kyrie waved her hand as she watched Caro direct Fried to blasting a group. "Where has that Dragon been?" "Busy, obviously." Amitie said as she flew up to her sister. "Didn't you pay any attention to what was going on?" Amitie sighed as Kyrie just grinned at her. "Of course not." Amitie would have rubbed her forehead if she wasn't busy shooting at the various Mariage down on the ground. "...Should I use that?" Kyrie shrugged at her. "I don't see why you should. I mean, it's not like we're in danger, right?" She gulped at Amitie's glare. "Plus you might kill an ally?" "Huh... Good point." Amitie nodded slowly, slightly shocked that Kyrie would point that out. "Ladies, if you'd please lay some covering fire down," Kuma said as he looked up at them. Sure, getting a look up their skirts was nice, but there was a bit of a crisis going on around them. He smirked as the two let out small yelps and started firing down at the group of Mariage. "Well then..." He grinned as his magic swirled around his feet. "Let's dance!" (---) Sette looked at the crowd as she and Cinque worked their way into the crowd. "How are Ginga and Nove doing?" She looked at the shorter girl. Cinque closed her visible eye as she tried to contact Wendi. "...It seems like they're okay, but they won't be at full health for a few more hours." Opening her eye, she snapped her fingers and several knives lashed out of mid-air and struck several of the Mariage in the forehead before the knives exploded. "Where's Mr. Snuggles?" Her eye widened as an explosion occurred behind her. Turning, she sweat-dropped as a fire sprang up and a small figure walked out of it. "...I'd ask what the heck you did, but I'm more afraid of the answer." Mr. Snuggles just smirked at her. "Trust me, you don't want the answer." Cinque looked at Sette and could have sworn that the tall cyborg was smirking at her. But the smirk was so small and didn't last long enough for her to tell. "I... See." "Now then, it seems these things are getting weaker, how about we wrap this up and get them to follow us to the meeting point?" Sette and Cinque both nodded and moved towards the crowd. "Even if they are not fast, they are numerous." Sette commented as she grabbed a Mariage that tried to get close to her. Snapping the arm off, she kicked the Mariage into the group as Cinque threw several knives in and caused them to explode. "...This is taking too long." "Reform one of your boomerangs." Cinque said and nodded as Sette did just that. "Give it here." Taking the weapon in her hands, Cinque smiled and handed it back. "So, who's up for a massive fragmentation grenade?" This time Sette did smirk as she threw her boomerang into the air and shattered it. "Cinque, if you would," Sette said as the small, spinning blades cut into the crowd of Mariage. "Of course." Cinque nodded and snapped her fingers. The resulting explosion was far larger than Cinque, Sette or Mr. Snuggles expected it to be. The shockwave was so intense that it sent the three of them flying backwards to crash into one of the buildings behind them. Groaning, Mr. Snuggles looked up and gaped at the destruction. what little wasn't obscured by the smoke was pretty impressive, considering that trees were uprooted, cars were tossed around like nothing, and a bird bath was in thirty pieces. Mr. Snuggles liked hunting those birds, they were fun to try and get before they flew away. "Woah..." Cinque stared. "Sette, we are never doing that again." There was no response and she turned to look, gasping as she saw Sette on the ground, clutching her head. "Sette, are you okay?" "I am fine." Sette looked up at her. "I hit my head a little too hard though." Shaking her head, Sette stood up and blinked as she looked around. "I should be okay." Cinque nodded to her. "Just take it easy, okay?" "I agree, also, where are those things?" "What are you..?" Cinque trailed off as she looked at the destruction more clearly as the smoke dissipated. "...Woah." The crater that covered the street was massive in size and depth, covering at least a two block radius and going deep enough that several sewer pipes were exposed and destroyed. Of the Mariage that had been surrounding them, nothing could be seen. "I think you over-did it." Mr. Snuggles sweat-dropped as Cinque nodded. Cinque looked at her hand and frowned, 'did I put Chaos into that by accident?' It wasn't like that power was controllable after all. Still, it was something to talk to her mother about. (---) Shiro looked at Lina as she sneezed. "Are you okay?" Lina rubbed her nose, smirking at him. "I should ask you the same thing, dear..." She practically purred as she watched him cut down more and more Mariage with each passing moment. Just watching him turn the women into dead pieces of flesh was just intense. And Shiro was, in her opinion, totally hot when he was committing brutal kills on his enemies. "Hey, mom!" Arf yelled from up in the air. Looking up, Lina smiled as she heard Arf's next words, "the street only has those weird women on them for at least eight blocks." "Well then..." Lina pulled out Galveria and smirked as she looked at the Mariage. "Light Come Forth." The bright flash of light and roar of magical power had both Arf and Shiro looking away to protect their eyes and ears. "Fly, Galveria, fly through them all!" Pulling back on the magical weapon, she let loose a single bolt of energy that rushed forward at such speed and power that by the time Arf turned to look the entire city street had been cleared of the Mariage. "...I almost forgot just how powerful this weapon was." The memory of her using it to send a Ragna Blade through Dynast Grausherra suddenly struck her mind, as well as the resulting death of the former Mazoku Lord. Looking at the bow in her hands, she narrowed her eyes and willed it to shut off. "Dear?" Shiro blinked as Lina looked at him, a rather dark look in her eyes. "What's wrong?" "Galveria was a mistake." Lina muttered as she turned and started to walk down the street. "Luna just contacted me, Miyuki, Arashi and Vivio are safe." Shiro nodded as the two of them walked down the street while Arf flew overhead. "What did you mean by a mistake?" "It's too powerful for humans to have. The other four weapons of light combined don't even come close to this thing." Even if she wanted to get rid of the thing, she would only give it to Sirius. It wasn't that she didn't trust anyone else in her family, but she knew just how tempting it was to use something so powerful when it was at your finger-tips and it could be used. Even if Chaos was terrifying, the power it had could not be denied and some times it took effort to not tap into it with her power. Lina blinked as she felt Shiro's hand on her shoulder. Turning, she blinked at he smiled at her. "Lina, just because it's powerful and dangerous doesn't mean that I'm worried about it. I married you, after all, didn't I?" Lina smirked at him and slugged him in the stomach playfully. "Better turn the charm down, mister, I need to concentrate on something other than how incredibly sexy you are." "Oh gods!" The two blinked and turned to look as Miyuki was giving them a disgusted look. "Aunt Luna flies us over here as fast as she could and you two are about to make out, in the middle of a war zone!" Lina gave her a flat stare but shrugged. "Actually, I was trying to talk him out of it this time." She ignored Miyuki's disbelief and looked at Vivio and Arashi. "Are you two okay?" "We're fine, grandma!" Vivio smiled brightly at Lina. "Aunt Miyuki gave your sister the sword of light and then there was a big fire that went WHOOSH! and flames went everywhere before exploding and BOOM!" Vivio threw her arms out wide with a shocked look on her face. "And everything exploded!" "Sounds like you've been having fun then." Shiro chuckled softly. "Come on, we're making our way into the city. That Teana girl apparently has a plan of some sort." (---) A few minutes later, Filia and Chrono had made it to the area where Teana had asked them to meet. "Chrono, will Amy be okay?" "We left when those things were almost gone, and I know that Lotte and Aria can handle bodyguard duties." Left unsaid was the fact that the Mariage were moving much slower than they had been when he joined the fight, so he felt a lot more confident that they would be okay. "Agent Lanster," Chrono spoke up as he got closer to Teana, Subaru, Dieci and a girl he had never seen before, "Nakajima, Takamachi, and you are..?" He looked at the last person. "Ixpellia, Dark Ruler of the Underworld, creator of the Mariage that lay siege to this city and someone who wishes that they would stop." Chrono raised an eyebrow, but nodded. "I see. I take it that you're not the one behind this current crisis then?" "Indirectly, I am, however, no matter my role, this is still my responsibility." Ixpellia closed her eyes and took a deep breath. "I have no idea if I can get these Mariage to come towards us though." A few moments later, there was a tap on the rooftops where they were meeting, looking over his shoulder, Chrono nodded to Luna, Lina, Shiro, Miyuki, Arf, Vivio and Arashi. "I see that you decided to join us." Lina smirked and looked around. "Is this it?" "This is the Ground Forces working with the Rescue forces on the scene. We will be working to purge the city of these things as quickly as possible." "Understood, Ground Forces. To anyone else, this is Admiral Chrono Harlaown, the force we have here can deal with most of these things easily enough, deal with the beings in your area and mop up any stragglers." "Yes sir." Filia raised an eyebrow at him. "Was there a point to that? We could have used the others." "I was about to say," a new male voice spoke up from behind Chrono, "that we'd like to help too." "Zel! Caro! Erio!" Lina smiled at the trio. "You guys took care of your problem?" "We left Kuma, Amitie and Kyrie behind. Fried's currently roasting any of these things that he can while flying through the city." Zelgadis looked at Ixpellia. "As you're the only person I don't know, I'm going to assume that you're the only person that can stop this?" "Kind of," Ixpellia nodded to him, "how did you guess?" "Because just after Teana contacted us and these things started to slow down, they started to make their way towards this area, and since the only thing that I can see would draw them would be someone I don't know, I'd have to say that you're the reason." "Don't look so smug, Zel," Lina rolled her eyes, "the next thing you know, this cute little girl will start throwing a Dragon Slave around, destroy some magical items and somehow someone else will get blamed and you'll be forced to go on an adventure to help them clear their name." Ixpellia just scratched her head in confusion. "If they're heading here, then the compulsion I put into them worked, so," she looked at Teana, "what is your plan?" "Get them together, then destroy all of them at once," Teana smirked at the looks she was getting, "don't act like that, human-sized bodies that are flooding the city? If they remain spread out like they are now, a few will escape and we'll have to deal with this in the future. Getting them all together and then wiping them out at once is a valid plan." "I like the stuff blowing up plan." Subaru grinned as she looked down at the Mariage as they shambled in. "So, how do we blow them up? Wait until we can't see the ground or..?" "Rune Flare." Lina and Zelgadis said at the same time and Subaru stumbled back as the two spells converged on the Mariage below. "I suggest that you start laying suppressing fire down." Shiro chuckled to Subaru, who nodded and took off to another roof to try and get a better angle of fire. "This seems to be going well." Zelgadis said as the small force was able to wipe out the Mariage fairly easily. Looking up, he snorted as he saw Filia and Chrono both blast the ground below with some beam magic attacks. "Show offs." "Oh, like you're not?" Lina smirked at him as she pointed an open palm at the crowd below. "Blast Bomb." "That's just cheating." Zelgadis muttered irritably. "Being able to do that without boosting your magic." Lina and Zelgadis smirked at each other as the final enemies were destroyed by the combined magical assault of the team. "Well, that's..." Zelgadis trailed off as there was a soft thump behind him. Turning around, Dieci, Zelgadis, Teana and Lina, the only ones who had stayed on the roof, stared as they looked at Ixpellia's downed form. |
