In the wake of all that's happening and the rumors being whispered around -- Eins was appointed Akiba Duke, Rayneshia is getting married, Marves getting Rayneshia's "blessing" over governing Akiba -- Shiroe holds a meeting with some Round Table guild adjutants. Present are Oceanic Systems' Kayu (in episode 10 of S1, he was the guy that was fishing when the caravan comes to Akiba), WWB's Nazuna, Black Sword's Rezarick, and Crescent Moon's Henrietta. Also present are Rudy and Isuzu, since Rudy can understand the situation from a Lander perspective, and Akatsuki (probably sitting in as Shiroe's attendant).

To the Landers living in Akiba, the news about the aristocracy was good. It established a center of power, a resolute form of leadership in a city without nobility or social class. Although Adventurers understand that the Round Table is an alliance that is not part of the Eastal League, but is instead equal in power to the League and has a contract/treaty with them, most Landers do not have that knowledge. Even if they did have that knowledge, it is likely that they wouldn't understand. Many Landers feel, deep down, that they are akin to refugees. They are looking for a place to call home. (I'll note that Mamare inserted a reference to the current Middle East/Europe refugee crisis in here.)

Because of conditions such as monster attacks, bad weather, and marriage/succession, it is hard to live in villages. Many Landers flocked to Akiba, where there are lots of opportunities and, above all, relative social/economic stability. However, in spite of all these perks, the Landers are still anxious. Refugees are refugees. Even if they have a house in Akiba and have families, they aren't necessarily accepted there. They may be thrown out at any time.

Isuzu protests this, saying that the Adventurers wouldn't do such a thing, but either Shiroe or Rudy reminds her that even if the Adventurers say that, it won't dispel the Landers' uneasiness. It's the arrival/establishment of an Akiba Duke that will calm those fears.

Kayu points out that Oceanic Systems, and all the production guilds for that matter, rely on the Landers for supplies. Mistreating them or throwing them out would be unthinkable. To him, this is just a ploy by Eins to pin down the Round Table by the scruff of its neck. However, Nazuna points out that they don't necessarily do business with extremely rural towns, and says something about Sara and the Landers living in Akiba. (Didn't really understand what she was talking about.)

Someone mentions that Eins has already gone to the neighboring and outskirt villages and secured deals with them, which complicates matters for them. What Honesty is doing is, in exchange for protecting the Landers and reselling the goods to the production guilds, they get around 20% of the profit. With that alone, they can increase their revenue by hundreds of thousands a month.

Nazuna and Kayu bring up trying to block Eins' move, or something to that effect, but Shiroe shakes his head. There isn't much they can do. Rezarick speaks up, and notes that Akiba may be under Westelande's control now. This revelation shocks the rest of the group.

The Round Table declined to take a noble title from the Eastal League. But if Eins has received his title from Westelande, which only Honesty has ties to in Akiba, there's nothing they can do about it. With that, Nazuna grumbles, "Hey, guys. Did we get checkmated?"

3.2 switches to Isaac and Charasin, over in Maihama. 3.3 is another Round Table meeting. I don't think I have the patience to go as in-depth as I did above, although Part 1 is the longest part. These are the most important parts of Parts 2 and 3. Hopefully someone can fill in more detail.

Eastal is quite understandably frustrated and skeptical with the Round Table for the appointment of this "Akiba Duke" under Westelande's name. Although it would help if, y'know, the Corwen family didn't decide that their daughter would marry into Westelande. I'd assume that Westelande and/or Eins already forced their hand, though.

Isaac suspects that this is all happening because Nureha suddenly decided to go along with Eins and told him to disagree with the Round Table, so Eins is pulling everything into this state. Charasin says that it's because of the Black Sword Knights that Eins is doing what he's doing(?). While the Black Swords are training the knights in Maihama, it seems that Eins is offering to have the jobless Adventurers in Akiba either pick up the merchant-escorting volunteering that the Black Swords were doing, or is having those Adventurers train the Landers in villages in a similar fashion as the Black Swords. Or maybe both. I'm not sure.

During the Round Table meeting, aside from the usual representative guild masters, Akatsuki and Nyanta aren't present with Shiroe this time. Instead, Rudy and Isuzu are there, for the same reason they were at the meeting in Part 1.

Naturally, the other guild masters aren't very pleased with Eins. Soujiro makes an innocent comment along the lines of "What's the purpose of the Akiba Duke title? A salary raise?", which angers one of Eins' attendants (a Guardian, so I think it's TOSHII or whatever his name was from S2), but he is stopped by Eins' other female attendant. Michitaka takes a much more aggressive tone, but surprisingly, Eins doesn't falter this time.

This meeting, he's well-prepared to defend himself, and attack the Round Table. Eins reveals that the head of the Saiku house (Marves, ew) has been betrothed to Rayneshia and the marriage has already been approved by the Lord of Maihama (Duke Serjiad). Among the marriage negotiations, things like the title of Akiba Duke and a Westelande-controlled administrative power were already established. This shocks the rest of the Round Table, including Shiroe. He knew that the two things were tied, but not to the extent that they were, and realized that if things were already this intertwined, then Eins' and Westelande's plot were already far beyond what he had believed.

Eins claims that he is grateful for the Round Table stabilizing the city, but believes that its time is up. It lacks authority. Everything relies on goodwill, and there is no surefire method of enforcing the law. To Eins, too much of the organization's decisions depend on a single person (Shiroe). This time, he will go on the offensive. With that, Eins declares that Honesty is leaving the Round Table Alliance. In the silence that follows, he adds another proposal: the establishment of a new ruling organization called the Akiba Governing Office. Even though he has the title of Akiba Duke, he says, he doesn't want to run a dictatorship. Rather, he wants everyone to participate in the Akiba Governing Office. The difference between the AGO and the RTC is that the AGO will have the legal force that the RTC lacks.

A new curtain dropped onto the stage of Akiba. One that was unprecedented by anyone living in Akiba.

Im so glad mamare is focusing back on the political aspects in the series that was the one flaw in the second part of the series that was lack luster compared to the first part.

Chapter 110's quick summary since I forgot about it.

News of what Eins said has spread like wildfire. Some time after the meeting, Charasin and Isaac hold a meeting with Serjiad. As it turns out, the reason why Serjiad agreed to Rayneshia’s marriage to Marves was because she nodded affirmative when asked if she would do it. And if Serjiad said that Rayneshia said she would do it, to the Lander population, that’s absolute. It’s basically a “go-ahead” signal for the Landers.

Not only that, but Rayneshia and Krusty’s actions during the Goblin King arc have come back to bite Rayneshia. To the Adventurers, the story of her speech to the nobles and being whisked away to Akiba is cool, daring, and practical. To the Landers, the beautiful Princess Rayneshia was kidnapped by the strong, handsome Adventurer knight Krusty in the middle of the night.

Adventurers wouldn’t make the same assumptions that the Landers make, but to Sarariya and the Corwen family, the situation of a princess falling in love with a knight and running away to be with him is too familiar. For both of their daughters to have love affair scandals would be devastating. Even if there wasn't a love affair, the Landers can't stand up to an Adventurer. What if he killed her? There's no way to guarantee her safety once she's in an Adventurer's arms. Charasin has no rebuttal for that.

Chapter 3.05 jumps over to Krusty and the rest of Kanami's party. Juhowan, the guild master of the Lelang Cavalry, has to prepare for the worst. The guild cannot keep on running away. As for Krusty, he has no intentions on returning to Yamato at the moment. For now, his top priority is finding and killing Bucaphi.

[Edit] I forgot that Krusty's curse prevents him from crossing into other servers. So he literally can't return until he kills Bucaphi. My bad.

They actually are in the first section of Chapter 111. I haven't gotten around to translating it yet, but from a quick glance, it seems they were talking to Shiroe while Shiroe was trying to figure his way out of the situation.

I am sure Shiroe and the others will find a resolution to this.... i think this story arc might last with 2 volumes like the goblin raid arc. It is not just the council that is getting into divided but also plant Hywaden is forming there own factions as well. It seemed inevitable as to be frank nearly everyone here are players with difference of opinions so it was bound to happen at some point.

Edit: By the way, last month there was a large Log Horizon infodump on the TRPG twitter. Most of it is just about real-world/pre-Catastrophe information, nothing that is glaringly plot-important at the moment.

• Londark, in real life, is named Satou Ace (佐藤瑛磨). He’s a 19-year-old part-time worker.
• Dinkuron’s real life name might be Kijima Haruto (城嶋春人). I say “might” because there are multiple readings for both parts of his name, and no pronunciation was given. During the guild’s offline meetings, he’d sit next to William to protect William from alcohol… or Ukiyo’s sudden attacks? (So I guess Ukiyo’s giant club is for more than just role-playing…)
• Michitaka takes his username from his real name, which is Oikawa Michitaka (及川道隆)
• Roderick’s real name is Ayano Yoshifumi (天野義史).
• Charasin’s real name is Mikami Yousuke (三上洋介).
• Misa’s name in real life is exactly the same as her name in-game. When asked about Misa’s age, and whether she would still be of marriageable age for another 10 years, Elissa’s answer was basically along the lines of “she’ll be that way for another 200 years.”
• Elissa was asked to give the real names of Kayu, Taro, and Nazuna, as well as their ages along with the ages of Michitaka, Roderick, and Charasin, but Elissa gave no info about that.
• Before Plant Hwyaden, the Kansai region’s two most famous guilds were Howling (lead by Nakarunado, now in PH’s Ten Seats) and Benihime (this is the first time I’ve read about them).
• There used to be more men in West Wind Brigade, but as more and more girls joined (for Souji), they left. Apparently the Watermaple Consulate is having a similar issue; the men don’t want to be in a workplace full of women, it seems.
• Around 80% of Yamato’s Adventurer population lives in the Player Cities of Akiba, Minami, and Susukino. The other 20% either live in the other two player cities, or in towns/villages away from the cities.
• Adventurers can grow facial hair, it seems. I’m not sure if it naturally occurs, or if it has to be done purposely (like with appearance customization settings/items).
• When asked if Theldesia had a tanabata-like event, Elissa’s answer was that while she couldn’t answer for all of Theldesia, the Yamato server will soon have a similar festival. (She also said that putting wishes on a piece of paper was in the culture of all Adventurers, but… I don’t think so…?)
• The Black Swords Knights weren’t always known by that name; Isaac renamed it after getting the Black Sword of Pain. Its name prior to that hasn’t been decided yet, but it seems to have been along the lines of “Strongest Contractors” (referring to Isaac’s real-life occupation) or “Team Strongest.”
• Elissa was asked whether we would ever meet the guild master of Cat Food (Nyanta’s previous guild). She couldn’t find anything about whether we would ever see him again, but she said that Nyanta would be happy to see his old friend.
• Theldesia does not follow the Gregorian calendar, and the celestial bodies seen from Theldesia are not the same as on Earth (aside from the moon). However, Elissa couldn’t find any detailed information aside from that. (In one of Mamare's Q&As on the Japanese wiki, he said it was similar enough to our calendar, though, that most people can approximate it into a 365-day-calendar.)
• When asked if Magus (from the WWB manga) will make an appearance in the novels, Elissa’s response was that, since she made a cameo in the anime, there is a possibility that we will see her again. Although that ‘again’ could very well just be in the WWB manga and not the novels.
• Regarding the origins of some guild names: Light Indigo (Tetora’s original guild) is named after the color of the Shinsengumi’s haoris (it’s light blue). Crescent Moon Alliance wanted a “cafe-ish name.” The Wolves of Mibu were inspired by the Shinsengumi, and Mamare said something about Kazuhiko and Yamanami Keisuke.
• As for fan works, Elissa said that Mamare and the development team do look at a couple of them from time-to-time. Obviously, they can’t read every single one nor can they incorporate all of them, but there are some things that they adopt. For example, the titles of “Garnet Dragon” (Ga-tan) and “Corolla Knight” (Dinkuron) are apparently from fan works.
• In response to a question about Shiroe’s love experiences, Elissa revealed that Shiroe once had a crush on a girl in his class back in middle school. He bought her a souvenir and all before they went on a school trip, but he was rejected after the trip and he kept muttering “I’m too boring.” (This took place a few years before he began playing Elder Tale, then.)
• The difference between a Maid and an Elder Maid is that Elder Maids are able to do more things, and are better at serving meals and housekeeping. (And not that it differentiates between Adventurer/Lander subclasses like I had originally thought.)
• Rudy’s family structure is known only to Mamare at the moment.
• Elissa wants an oriental small-clawed otter.
• Volume 11 is supposedly going to hold quite a bit of information about Krusty. It seems that there will perhaps be more illustrations than normal. Hara must be busy. Also, Krusty is around Shiroe’s age (previous info detailed that he went to Yale University, probably for undergrad since he’s in Japan now).
• In regards to shops in Akiba, Elissa said to check the Celdessia Gazettes for more information.
• We got some more background information about Elias (and girls). I am quite certain I’m going to butcher the translation. All I can tell is that a fairy childhood friend (probably a girl) went into a deep sleep, the master of the fairy sword arts took on the form of a little girl(?), he went journeying with a female troubadour, and one time got washed ashore in a strange land and was taken care of by… a local priestess. Quote Elissa, “The development team is indignant.”
• About the age of certain guilds (Elissa said that it may not be entirely accurate): DDD, Black Sword Knights, Roderick Firm, and Howling were all formed before the Tea Party disbanded. Silver Sword, Crescent Moon Alliance, Grandeur, 8th Shopping District, and West Wind Brigade were all formed after the Tea Party disbanded.
• Rezarick’s real name is Yamazaki Kenta (山崎健太) and his birthday is November 10. He’s probably around Isaac’s age (they’re both in their thirties). His real life occupation is a mortician (a person who takes care of dead people). Elissa gives her sympathies. No wonder he’s a Cleric.
• Ancients can be created two ways: one, from birth, second, through a sort of rite of passage. The Ancients are not tied by blood, it’s not like there’s a certain clan or family of Ancients.
• Elissa: “No three sizes!” (Bust, waist, hip measurements, IIRC) She went on to say that male authors value those sorts of things too much, and that she needs to chastise them (those kinds of authors). It seems that Mamare and Elissa are good at dodging those kinds of questions (in a past interview, someone asked Mamare the same question and his response was ‘that’s Hara’s affair’).
• Aomori (Mikakage’s male companion) seems to be an easy target (for jokes)?
• For the future of the Nyanta/Serara pairing, Elissa said that it’s sou_chu’s affair (Nyanta’s Fortune Recipes manga author). As for Soujiro’s real life info, Elissa said that’s Koyuki’s affair. Apparently, in a series where people who show up for five seconds on-screen have names and professions, there’s simply nothing for Souji. Maybe it’s because he’s popular with girls, both in-series and out, that it’s supposed to be a gag? Maybe?
• For details about the Hunter, Sword Saint, and Avenger subclasses, Elissa said to check the Celdessia Gazettes.
• Maryelle and Naotsugu are getting to know each other more, something about “slow flames building up steadily.” She knows his real name now, it seems? Which we learned a while ago.
• Shironiji’s real name is Amamiya Rakusu (雨宮らくす) (she’s the white-haired Summoner girl from the Akiba Raid), and her older brother’s name is Amamiya Yoriyoshi (雨宮自由). Quote Elissa, “Why is the background characters’ info so detailed?” (Case in point, I didn’t even know Shironiji had an older brother… where did he come from…)
• Lastly (technically, it’s the first one we got, but I translated starting from the most recent ones), Akatsuki goes to the University of Shibuya. Her younger sister told her to become a pet groomer because she’s better at working with her hands than talking to other people.

Finally got around to Chapter 111's spoilers. Pretty sure 99% of the mood was lost.

Shiroe was aware that he would fail. He hadn't foreseen any other possibility. Nevertheless, he felt as if he should've tried harder. What if he had tried something differently in the past? Looked into the Travelers more, focused on domestic affairs, more... it was useless to contemplate it now, but such was the nature of human regret.

After the Round Table meeting ended, Shiroe had immediately returned to his guild hall. Perhaps he should've talked with Michitaka, Charasin, or Isaac some more, but he wouldn't have known what to say anyways. Shiroe was the kind of person who needed to prepare for situations. He couldn't make immediate decisions. That's why, during this chaotic situation, he shut himself inside his work room for two days and nights.

Naotsugu, being the bro that he is, interrupts Shiroe and comments on his bedhead. Shiroe is slightly bothered by his messy hair, but they get on to talking Eins. Shiroe rags on himself for not doing anything, but Naotsugu reminds him that it's a waste of time.

Even though the Round Table Alliance had worked on the principle of mutual good will, Eins had also done what he did out of good intentions. But after a certain point, it's counterproductive to base one's actions on good will.

Shiroe believes that Eins isn't at the center of the problem. It's Akiba's lethargy and indifference that's at the root, which allowed these events to happen.

There are 12,000 people in Akiba, but not all of them live in Akiba. Around 8,000 of them make Akiba their home, so it's easy to see people just sitting around in depression. Honesty, whose numbers have swelled to around 2,000 now (compared to the 750 at the beginning of the Catastrophe), feels the brunt of leechers the most.

There's some poetic/emotional stuff here, which I'm not good at translating. Shiroe basically says that people need the sun, a light, to shine their path. People to connect with. Maryelle and Kanami were those kinds of sunny people who cheered up those around them. Isuzu and Rudy joined Minori and Tohya. Akatsuki was always there for him.

The problem is that in this community, it's easy to be affected by others. 100 people being gloomy and depressed will spread their gloominess to other people. But it also worked conversely. By brightening the days of 100 people, they could spread that cheer even further.

The Round Table was established to uplift Akiba after the Catastrophe. With that in mind, it was created with as little power as possible. Adventurers have strong bodies and powerful magic. Theoretically, there was no need for a governing body.

I don't really understand this part well, so my apologies. But basically Shiroe believes that too many people expected for a single representative to speak for all of Akiba. But in this world, everyone was an amateur. Shiroe especially, who is the guild master of a tiny guild. He's not like Krusty, who has the charisma of a king.

The Round Table's lack of power meant that it couldn't do anything. The Akiba Governing Office theoretically wouldn't have that problem, but how would they enforce the rules? Establish a knighthood? Shiroe felt like he was grasping in the dark, without any way to create a strategy.

Just then, Minori pokes her head in. They have received a letter from Eins himself, who wishes to talk with Shiroe in-person.

Rayneshia visits DDD for the first time in a while. DDD has been busy with paperwork as the guild steadily heads towards dissolution, and Rayneshia herself has been flooded with papers. Originally, she wanted to talk to Rieze about her upcoming engagement, but Westelande's sudden arrival and the widespread notice about her engagement ruined it. Rayneshia worries that Rieze might view her as a traitor for this. She enters the guild's new guild house, the D3Hub. It has blue and gold sign plates that remind her of Krusty.

Rieze invites her in, and Rayneshia enters a room where Misa and Akatsuki were already sitting. Rieze and Misa awkwardly apologize, bowing their heads because of Krusty's disappearance. They inform Rayneshia that his last whereabouts were in Yureddo and his curse is forcing him to remain there. They believe that if he were here, the situation wouldn't have become so out-of-hand, unaware that he's directly the reason for some of it. Rayneshia feels guilty, thinking that she should've have managed everything better. Because the Saikuu house was made the bearer of the news, they immediately announced it, before she had the chance to tell her friends. Both sides struggle for words when Akatsuki interrupts them, breaking the tension by offering the tea that had been prepared for them.

Rieze asks if Rayneshia is indeed getting married. Not wanting to lie to her friend, Rayneshia confirms the news. But in all honesty, she knew nothing about her future. She knew nothing of life after marriage. She didn't know what her husband-to-be looked like or sounded like. (So it's not Marves, he's only the family's messenger.) Westelande life was a mystery to her. She wants to say something to Rieze, but is disappointed in herself that she can't figure out what to say -- like she's empty, just a shell made of papier mache.

Rayneshia asks Rieze if they were really disbanding DDD, and she and Misa nod. It's not because of Krusty, it's that it has become too difficult to run the guild. It was possible to manage it in the real world, where there was internet communication. But now, it was a different story, especially with Krusty's disappearance. DDD itself would dissolve, but it would be broken into smaller guilds that were financially independent, but were still connected in partnership. So the scale wouldn't change, but leadership would. DDD might crumble, but it won't die. This idea brings a strange elation to Rayneshia's heart.

Rieze's eyes blaze with fiery determination and pride as she tells Rayneshia of DDD's next step. DDD would be a guild union, better catered to the needs of Akiba's residents, whether Adventurer or Lander. Rayneshia attempts to give her blessings, but finds that she strangely cannot speak. Holding her chest and opening her mouth, all she can do is look at her knees. Misa holds her hand to give her reassurance, and she attempts to laugh to shake off their worries. But her half-hearted laugh is nothing ladylike, and Akatsuki holds her other hand that is shaking inexplicably.

Misa relays to Rayneshia Krusty's words. Even he has met an enemy that he hasn't been able to overcome, but he's still pushing forwards anyways. All of Rayneshia's emotions come surging forward and she breaks down crying. It's a shame, a humiliation, a longing.

Rayneshia loved Akiba. Its people, its places, the smiles and joy that surrounded her. In a way, it had become her own pride and joy. She apologizes, dizzy from her tears and unsure of what exactly she was apologizing for. She confesses to her friends in a trembling voice that "This town of Akiba is my job... it's important to me." They don't laugh at her self-imposed punishment. Instead, they readily hug her.

Unfortunately, this isn't a web novel/light novel update, but the LHTRPG has created a "Log Horizon Database" that contains some interesting info. I've focused on characters, but it covers a wide variety of subjects like monsters, races, locations, guilds/factions, etc.

Spoiler for Some info I've gleaned:

• Nureha's not a high school student. She's 25 years old (Naotsugu's age) and unemployed, and her real name is Touko Hagio (first name-last name order). Indicus knows her past and her RL reputation because they were classmates in middle school.
• Akatsuki's sister's name is Hibiki and her dog's name is Myojo.
• Roe2's red eyes are the result of a skill or something.
• Giraffe-chan's name is Kirin-chan (Kirin meaning Giraffe in Japanese) and she's a Dwarf. She headbutts anyone who points out her size with her giraffe head.
• Four of the Ten Seat Conference members are called the "four dogs of Minami": Roreil Dawn is the Faithful Dog, Kazuhiko the Watchdog, Nakarunado the Vicious Dog, and Mizufa the Mad Dog. Then there's also Quan, who's the Outlier Indoor Dog.
• Krusty was raised only by his mother. While his father acknowledged him as a son, he didn't care about Krusty at all. Spoiler for Some info I've gleaned:

• Krusty was raised only by his mother. While his father acknowledged him as a son, he didn't care about Krusty at all. • Nureha's entry pretty much exposes Indicus' age as well. And I won't be surprised if Indicus was one of the people who bullied Nureha or had used her in a similar manner in the past.

  I don't suppose they have two more younger siblings named Ikazuchi and Inazuma, no?
  Not sure if DQueenie has already mentioned this in the forums, I looked up Akatsuki in the database and found that her name is Hanekura Shizu.
  
• Krusty's background pretty much explains how easily he handled upper class interactions. It's also possible that he sees a bit of himself in Rayneshia, both expected to act according to their station but really can't care a shit about it.

Oh yeah, Akatsuki's real name has been out since the S2 Settings Book, but anyone who hasn't checked the Wiki probably wouldn't know this. (It's also Shizuka, according to the hiragana.) Her RL entry in the database also clarifies which college she's attending, I know that I made a guess back in the previous RL infodump (and was wrong).

On that subject, there's also more info about the Tea Party members on the Wiki (on their individual pages). I remembered that their translated descriptions were lost when lh.oksub.me went under, so while I was re-translating them, I double-checked the volume 9 appendix to see if they were the same. Of course, they weren't, so I translated those too.
