Wait, hollywood had the rights to this franchise for an adaptation?! When the hell did this happen?! And how? I can understand a well known Anime such as DBZ and Sailor Moon would get some interest from hollywood (we had gotten a DBZ movie, and we almost got a Sailor Moon movie from hollywood), but an underdog like Parasyte?! And they just sat on the IP for years? Well, not that I'm angry I'm actually glad hollywood didn't give us a Parasyte movie. Look at what they did to DBZ. Hell, look what they did with Movie to videogame adaptations, movies based off of older TV shows, even remakes. IMHO, the vast majority of Hollywood's offerings lately are ho-hum at best.

It's not like only super popular manga/anime get a US remake , Noir has had a TV show in development hell for years and Kite is getting a Hollywood movie soon.

Yeah, here is a link http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news...oduce-parasyte though they acquired rights for it in the mid aughts ,so I dont know what was preventing Japanese companies from creating anime before that time period.

This doesn't really belong in the horror genre for me though I do know this is one of the best manga I've read (although I had hoped the manga would have delved deeper onto the socio-ecological effects of the parasytes). If this gets popular enough, hope we'll get to see Historie animated soon as well.

I can only join the chorus of those who say: "Finally!"
This is one of the best manga I've ever read and I'm so damn glad it gets animated. I only hope they won't screw it up too much and keep all the good parts. Quote:
Yeah there's a lot in this manga, and like I said horror scenes are not its major selling point (at least to me), but... it is arguably a horror manga nonetheless.

Never happen. Her former agency demanded her to do so but she changed it. She never retired from seiyuu work just has quite few major roles nowadays(if you don't count Lucy in Fairy Tail).

No, she's been laying low due to a combination of sex scandal[1] and health problems, but didn't actually retire. She's had a few supporting roles in the last few years, but this is the first time she's been a lead in a long time. Hopefully it bodes well for the future of Haruhi (at the very least that she'll be in The Disappearance of Yuki Nagato).
[1] The scandal being that she's had sex. |

With every single member of her band except the bassist (so at least three). It's not as innocent as you make it sound. In most countries, she'd be considered an unprofessional sex-crazed ****. If it were just sex with random strangers, this may not have hurt her as much.
