At first I was quite surprised and thought to myself "Wow! What a change from before! That's a ... " And then I thought: "Well then ... so much for that." Felt sorry for her too. "The priestess" is a formidable opponent indeed!

And then there's the problem of asking someone like Rikka to do so... unless Yuuta goes full chuuni in his words: MANA TRANSFER- *shot*

Maybe I'm the only one here but this episode doesn't seem as interesting as the 1st one of the last season was. I'm still getting Kyoukai no kanata's vibe from this episode as things feel kinda disconnected here and there, especially Kumin's jokes didn't cut it for me.
Another downside is the OP & ED theme. I expected more from ZAQ this time but the OP sounds so weird even Galileo donna's OP is better. The ED is... meh... not too bad but nothing stands out either. 8/10, mainly for the nice battle at the end. |

Yuuta actually said it himself this episode -- he's not entirely sure where to go with his and Rikka's relationship yet. While they're dating, it's not romantic-romantic yet, so getting even physically intimate is still a bit of a stretch.

I approve the Fate/Mana Transfer idea though. Too bad the new character hadn't shown up yet. At least Touka and Kuzuha appearences made up for that. Overall, the gags this time hit more than miss compared to the first season which is a good sign. It should have hit harder if I hadn't watched the long PV. OP and ED, great visuals, but the sequences can't keep up with the song which is very up beat. 9/10 P.S. I'm sticking with BANISHMENT THIS WORLD despite it's actually vanishment. Got attached to the term after the first season. P.S.S In the OP, I noticed the new character doesn't use any chuuni weapon. Too badass for one I guess. Last edited by teja208; 2014-01-08 at 22:12. |

Man this anime is still so cringe worthy every time they start the epic battle scenes and you're reminded that it's all pretend and they are probably jumping around and swinging umbrellas in the middle of the street...I sometimes envy them for the lack of fucks given when it comes to looking bad.
Anyway, glad to see this anime back for another season. Really loved last season and I already liked the first episode of this one. |

During the Touka vs Chuunibyou club fight, why is Nibutani in her cheerleader outfit? If the transformation was to revert back to their chuunibyou-self, shouldn't Nibutani be in her middle-school outfit? Afterall, Yuuta was back to his dark flame master outfit. This seems inconsistent.
In addition, why is Kumin part of the chuunibyou fight? I thought she's the normal one. Oh well, she got smacked right into the ground in one fight. Fight on, Kumin! |

Nibutani's "gokigenyou persona" is a more "realistic" chuunibyou. The type where a person dresses up contrary to her true identity with the intention of becoming someone else.
There are a lot more instances of chuunibyou than it seems.

Yeah, what is wrong with japanese youth this days, I would understand if Rikka was like Mori Summer (which knows how to hold people at bay), but his girlfriend is such a submissive and he already grabs her all the time to give her those light punches all of the time. I do not mean he should have already hit a home run, but he should be at first base.

I kinda feel that the color palettes KyoAni's using this time around didn't match the one's they are using from S1 which kinda weirded me out when I was watching this first episode.
Anyway... pretty ok episode looking forward to the next episode!
