Actually Aliens may be semi plausible, I mean they do have Zombie Crusader Spirits too. You may be right about transforming Tanks not being cool in a WW2 setting, I more meant generally (though having a tank mode would be a bit superfluous)

Nazi...occultists...
And they look like those knights of the Crusading Orders. Now where have I seen that before? Dan -f'ing- Brown maybe? Still, the animation studio's reputation is impeccable and it seems they're putting a lot into it. I guess I'll still check it out although with all cliché-sensitive nerves sufficiently drugged out somehow. |

My history of FPS started with Doom.
But yes, Nazi zombies/moon bases/Antarctica empire/Argentina ()/Illuminati is a common theme in many conspiracy fiction. And I. Fucking. Hate. Conspiracy fiction. (hence the Dan Brown reference) >_> I only accepted Le Chevalier d'Eon because French aristocrats, especially pretty sexually ambiguous ones, are cool enough to mask the underlying crazy conspiracy stuff as something more sophisticated than it actually is. |

Japan making an anime on WWII?
The same Japan that doesn't acknowledge what happened in Nanking? The same Japan that had the use of comfort women in the 1940s? The same Japan that bombed Pearl Harbor? The same Japan that is rewriting history to steal Korean islands? I'm in shock. I thought this day would never come... Maybe I'm a bit paranoid because I hated the Japanese government of the 1940s. But... I can't wait to know about the accuracy and bias of the informative historical content in this anime. At least this is more focused on the Eastern front, rather than the Pacific front.

It's only likely to contain passing references to the Pacific front.
But frankly not even the Eastern Front isn't that safe for showing. I don't know of any movies set there(that's where most of the attrocities were committed after all). Compare that to the western front "america saves the day" where there are loads of movies. Though to be fair there could be a lot of russian movies I've never seen set there. |

WW2 forum discussions usually lead to heated arguements. Can we just stick to this anime please?

Yay, huge WWII buff here. My guess is the Katana is so Japanese person's can relate.
I wonder if the will be accurate with weapons and vehicles and keep them 1942 in or if we will see STG 44s and IS-2s.... * Just watched the trailer. It seems they did keep accurate so far. Junker Ju. 88s and T-34/76s were both in full use by late 1942. Also, I am a little surprised about the WWII as well. But I notice this is from a perspective that doesn't directly affect Japanese. I really doubt we will ever see anything that involves Japanese troops unless it is the 'glorious defense of the home islands'. |

Or perhaps she trained on the Russian coastline near Japan before the war?
Whatever.... this has a kind of weird "while Indiana was fighting the Nazis, ..." and "the Allies were rescuing Hellboy, meanwhile..." feel to it.
