So Hinata (Haikyuu) meets Touma (Raildex) who is Kakashi's student at japanese Hogwart and they now have to find the 20 fingers of Asura (Asura's Wrath) so that they can then kill Hinata to make sure Asura dies. Also, going by the next episodes title, the obligatory Sakura of the group might basically just be Ten ten... but interesting.

You tryhards here are going to have so much fun shitting on this show
It's quite easy to do with this one anyway, especially at the start. This show probably is the type which gets better on a second watch. a big mashup of your favorite shounens from childhood: exorcism organization like many other anime/mangas before: ao no exorcist, owari no seraph, kimetsu no yaiba, tokyo ghoul (more toned down, but yet with few internal politics) classic demons/youkai: natsume yuujinchou, maybe also mushishi (few can see them)(but they are on the gore horror side)(there are also contracts involved) cool youkai designs: bleach (before soul society, here for the whole run) collection adventure: get all the dragon balls demon fingers to summon the dragon demon king typical shounen power creep: a bit retconned, by having the most op characters present since the start character designs from various recognizable inspirations: bleach, naruto, etc *mod snip* But in the end, it's just mindless battle shounen fun. (of the rated R kind) If many did apparently like the torture porn of re:zero, this show is going to fare quite well too. Last edited by LKK; 2020-10-10 at 10:18. Reason: removed spoilers |

^ Meh, as long as the show is well-animated, well-told (unlike God of Highschool) & entertaining without faulty internal logic of the organization (I'm looking at you, Demon Slayer & Bleach), I'll be perfectly okay with it.

This one is unique enough. In matter of fact Shonen battle manga styled shows are hundred times more diverse then isekai trash we are getting.
Also I don't think KnY has any particularly faulty logic organization wise (it could have better story, but that's different issue)

The first episode reminded me a lot of Bleach but the second reminded me of more of Blue Exorcist. I mean that in a good way: both of those had really good starts and so does this one. It's got that quintessential "gutsy boyish heart" to it that I've always been partial to.

The panda in the opening isn't introduced yet, but it seems to be already a bit popular (around other boards)
https://i.imgur.com/YX1fe8D.mp4 Ok, parkour is cool, and animal people can be cool too (depending on execution), so panda parkour is obvious, but, really? |

That girl is quite the character, all right. Her backstory was super lame though. I'm not sure how exactly she passed the test since she had to be saved by Yuuji. Both her and the kid would have died without him.
I'm was happy one of the background character actually commented on Satoru's blindfold.

Good question. Did Itadori not tell Gojo about that part? Did Gojo simply doesn't know or is he the type who cares more about the result than the process?

Probably the test was meant for stressing Nobara, to push her to be more serious, or to work harder, rather than a test with pass/fail as outcome.
Afterall, Nobara was already an accepted student, she is the second student of the first year "class", not the third, that's Itadori, she didn't need any more tests to join the school. Gojo probably didn't really care what happened, as long as they somehow managed. Also, getting saved still counts are teamwork, right? On a different note, has anyone else noticed the little change in the opening? https://i.imgur.com/1NA3ZLN.jpeg wonder if they're going to keep adding characters as they get introduced along the way. Also, the text cliffhanger at the end didn't really match that well with the cheery ending right after Spoiler for 'one of them will die' but now we dance:

I wouldn't go as far as to say Nobara's backstory is super lame but I did think it pales in comparison to Yuuji's which I thought was a lot more heartfelt and was tied better with the job. But I still found Nobara funny and quirky: Definitely not your quintessential smurfette.
Yeah I loled at that myself. I thought "Oh so I guess the author is aware of that..."

Seems like Mappa is no longer trapped into that curs-----contract with Crunchyroll when making God of High School considering the current pace. Then again, can they pull those big fight scenes? Haven't read the manga. Still, I can't wait to see that panda from the opening appearing in the story
