Yeah, the reason behind the MC's strategical mind is one of the biggest flaws about this from what I've seen. You can take a bit of a stretch and say the human psychology thing is an extension of his martial arts due to the nature of the style he learned and his grandfather who taught him, but all the strategical and political finesse of his is simply copped out to being "because Earth has a longer history of it and is further progressed" which is utter BS since it's not like in-depth reading into that kind of stuff is included in a standard high school education.
edit: As a side note, even the first other native Japanese the MC meets in this isekai finds the MC extremely abnormal.

Ah, so the author is still trying to explain bullshit throughout the whole story:/ That kinda sucks :/
Kinda mixed feelings about the romance part tho.. I mean it doesn't necessary need romances for a story to be good. Dont get why people get their jimmies rustled over it. But if theres a few instances where they are flirting and such instead. Then that could be fun, as long as they make those close bonds. Sometimes going head first into romance and making lovers can distract the story. So I dont think its a bad thing without romance. But it depends on the author I guess, and so far hes showing hes pretty incompetent. I wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt he just had a bad start. But from the comments, doesn't seem like it ><

@ChuckE: This novel focuses mainly on war and conflict between nations, between human and sub human, between summoned people and the ones summoned them so don't expect much about dealing with monster. As long as I have read, there are very few fights against monster.

Naaaah, each arc for this is a bunch of text; and it also seems that the author is adding more LN original events so I doubt that the 'conversion' is 1 arc 1 volume.
Rather, the preview text from the novel hints that LN VI is still winthin the 3rd arc (which started being adapted in vol V, and btw vol IV ended arc 2, all of this judging by the text previews). .... Thinking about it, I don't think I have ever seen any narou work ever being adapted to 1 arc 1 volume.
