Well, there's the crane who returned a favour and in that story we have a spider that returns a favour. Even if it's a genocidal spider...

For this story, as far as I read it, the MC doesn't actually care about anything except herself and I didn't find her to be interesting.

Using the bird logic the spider should be ongaeshi to the teacher only. Yet it tried it's hardest to save all earthys, not to mention it have taciturn tendency yet so busy body.
