I think this is exciting news, and it doesn't bother me much it's on PSP instead of PS3. The primary market for VC is Japan; and PSP sold twice the units than PS3 there.
The only thing I'm worried about is if this game will still have it's Japanese language track if it's localized*, and whether it still comes out UMD**. As long as it'll be released on UMD I could always import the Japanese version I guess. In fact I might do so anyway *) The PS3 has plenty of space for dual language tracks on Blu-Ray discs, the PSP (as downloadble game or UMD) does not. **) With the PSP Go not having a UMD drive, I figure PSP games are eventually not going to be released on UMD any more. |

Come to think of it, if Sega REALLY want to reach out to the masses, they could have easily release something on the NDS. But Sega seemed to have thrown in their lot with Sony here with the likes of RGG3, Project Diva and now VC2 this year. |

The PSP version of VC will still be able to capture the look and feel of the PS3 version, something a NDS version could never do, IMHO. Also VC was a PS3 exclusive, so it sorta makes sense that VC stays on a Sony platform. |

Heh. Looks like it may soon be time to buy a PSP. I've been tossing around the idea for a while... but if VC2 comes to the PSP, that'll be when I sway.
Ironic, VC was the game that persuaded me to buy a PS3, and now it's going to be the game that's going to persuade me to buy a PSP. |

I must have been really tired last night, as I really thought that was the Federation and not Gallia... Oh well. Doesn't change much other than a mild disappointment. I wanted more info on the other countries, particularly the one that figured in precisely one mission.

Regarding the storyline from a larger digital camera cap that I got, main gist is that an anti-Drascen movement gained ground 2 years after the events of VC1. Calling themselves the "Gallian Revolutionaries", they start a Civil War in the South Eastern part of Gallia. The Duchy Of Gillia, still weaken from the war with the Empire, fail to quell the uprising with their Millitias. Having no choice, Gallia inserted their Officers Cadets into the field....
Gameplay wise, the main change is that the player has a choice is deciding which missions to progress with instead of accpeting whatever the game throws at you. It's not known whether the player's choice will affect the main storyline. Last edited by MakubeX2; 2009-07-15 at 09:41. |

Finally more Valkyria Chronicles. As for it being on the PSP, I'm not upset considering I need more games to play on my PSP.
Thats an interesting touch to the game and I actually hope it does effect the path of the storyline somewhat. I've always been a sucker for games with branching story paths as they always make the games have better replay value and overall intrigue.

I... have mixed feelings about this one.
Valkyria Chronicles being one of my favorite games ever, of course I would be excited for any announcement of a sequel. The thing that bugs me is not that it's not on the PS3... but it's that it looks like some B-tier spin-off game, and they have the gall to call it the spiritual sequel... Far too early of course, and I'll probably end up loving just as I did the first one. On a first impression basis though, I'm only semi-interested.

That word...
A Spiritual Sequel is when it's not actually a direct sequel, but should have been (or it is claimed that it should have been). This is actually the direct sequel. You seem to be thinking that it's neither: a spin-off. And yeah; it's far too early. I need to see gameplay before I make any sort of real judgements.
