I think that Mr. Marlheit is a natural comedian.
He invites other people's laughter though he is serious. It is regrettable that he appears only in the first arc. I think that the reason for Mr. Marlheit's popularity in Japan is an influence of funny CM for DVD. Incidentally, Mr. Marlheit's voice actor is the same voice actor as Data in a Star Trek The Next Generation Japanese dubbed version. They have the similar character. Heh, yeah its "cast of characters on journey, meet new people and adventures, then move on".
Trivia: Star Trek was originally pitched as a "Wagon Train in the stars". Wagon Train was a popular Western series in the early 60s.

Hmmm, I seem to accidently voted for Chloe when I meant to vote for Nora. o.O
O well, so it goes.... Chloe made an interesting villain. She had the hots for Lawrence but also a bad "my way or no way" streak under her professional veneer.
