Personally, what I'd really like to see a remake and western release of is Ogre Battle: Prince of Zenobia (that'd be the Wonderswan Color one), though a new one would be more preferrable.
Actually, the entire Ogre series, remade and on a single disc, would be the only thing that would equal a new entry in the series for me. |

(Should have talked earlier but whatever)
While it's very nice to reconsider the existence of Tactic Ogre, I always wonder how frequent and important DLC these days are. Especially Bandai/Namco may consider DLC a mandatory exercise to finish a game. I just hope there is no DLC in this game, there is no need to. |

I've just started playing this and already it's probably my favorite Square Enix game since the last time a game was done in the Matsuno style. Great characters, very interesting scenario the way I like it with lots of politics and shades of gray and a good challenging game. I'd almost say Square Enix needs Matsuno back at this point, not so much from a standpoint of making sure their product will seel, but from a pure quality of storytelling and game play standpoint. I see little way they manage another game of this caliber without that person.

Deneb is the game + recruitable as an optional character in the last chapter (chapter 4), but from what I've read the effort to recruit her is quite annoying.
I'm nearly finished with my first playthrough and am just trying to get better skills and equiment as the last boss wiped the floor with my team the last two times D:. The level system has its ups and downs. Pro: Every unit gets exp. regardless if they perform an action or not, the more units of the same class the better exp for them. Negative: Levels are bound the the class and not to the character. It can be *very* unappealing to level from 1 to the current level of the remaining team. |

Just sad to the nerfs. Princess isn't the most powerful class in the game anymore, Wicce is merely a warlock with 1 more movement, and necromancy isn't a good enough magic class to justify using a Lich. Draconic magic being nerfed bad since it doesn't globally hit enemy anymore makes me sad as well, since with their reagent cost they're generally worse than forbidden spells.
Oh well, at least Shamans kick ass now. <3 Olivya/Sherri combo.

When I replayed the original Tactics Ogre with the intent of getting the Lord in the new playthrough, I found out that I couldn't do it when the time came; I just can't justify to myself that having a Lord in the game is worth me deliberately killing someone in cold blood as it were. I pressed the button, watched her kill herself, then promptly pressed "Reset" and unmade the decision. I have never followed the Lord storyline to this day. Can't do it.

Besides that, despite having Lord marks I cannot be bothered to change class and doing all the leveling again, so I let Denam happily remain as a Ninja which are absurdly strong as well. |

You make it sound like that's a bad thing, considering that 1h Katanas and Daggers are by far and away, the best melee weapon classes in the game due to high DEX scaling (it's easier to get DEX than STR on top of that) and more importantly, noticeably lower RT. Ninjas can't equip higher level daggers, but 1h katanas are only slightly more inferior and still a very good weapon class.
And IMO, Ninja > Lord, because after a certain point it isn't so much about dealing damage as it is getting in range of the enemy. As such, I value the Ninja's +1move/+1jump over the Lord's spell diversity. And really, after a certain point, Ninjutsu is as good as the majority of attack spells, and it doesn't cost you anything.
