(L) Natsume Yuujinchou (Third Season)

Omori is absolutely one of the best in the business right now, and I'm anxious to see how he does in a film format. His track record as a director (the Natsume series, Gakuen Alice, Kuragehime, Baccano, Durarara) shows he has an amazingly versatile talent.

I've intentionally avoided finishing the manga because I didn't want to spoil myself in the expectation that this day was coming - though the fact that the first two seasons skipped around so much made that somewhat impossible. My hope is that we'll see the return of Kai and the Little Fox sometime in S3, as those were probably my favorite two arcs of the first two seasons.

It wasn't aimed at or inspired by anyone in particular. I don't mind people saying that the third season will have their favorite story. Now if you had said, "my favorite story where such and such happens with so and so characters" ... that's what I'm asking to not be said.

It looks like something is going on at Anime Contents Expo, Last Exile II is also featured there and there is talk that means a summer run on that show thread. Seeing as I don't see much listed for summer yet, I'm hopeful.

Why didn't I see this thread before! Yes!!! and another yes!!! for Hotarubi no Mori e getting a movie. I didn't continue the manga after the anime finished so good for me! Hotarubi no Mori e was sweet but short, I wonder how it will turn out as a movie.

Yes I wondered about that too. It would be a small movie but maybe they could get creative like you said to increase the duration? I loved that story and the way it ended was bittersweet; but Hotarubi no Mori e was the title story so at least it has to be included. They did a great job with the series so I am not too worried. We'll just have to wait and see.

The third season is confirmed for this summer. Suwabe Junichi will be voicing Matoba. Of course, the rest of the cast remains the same.



On a not-so-unrelated note (I'll admit I just can't be bothered to open the thread), the Hotarubi no Mori e movie will open this fall (official website). Uchiyama Kouki and Sakura Ayane will be playing the leads.
