Who are the animation studios that worked on GL? Id est, for something like Eva we had a joint Gainax + I.G. collaboration and for something like Mahoromatic it was Gainax + Shaft with Gainax taking most of the slack in both.
The studios I know of who worked on GL: 1. Gainax 2. Studio Cat 3. GONZO 4. Production I.G. 5. Manglobe Inc. |

"I.G. does most of the visual effects in GL."
Are they? I remember spotting Production IG on the credit in every single episode of GL but they are credited as an "Offline editing studio". I think it's not the same thing in animation but i could be wrong. Gainax has now is own photograph y departement for working on (digital) visual effects, you can see one at work on that bonus that is featured on the 1st DVD special edition (up on nicovideo). Xebec is the only credited studio as "Animation Cooperation" on episode 3. You can check all the staff for the first 16 episode of GL here : http://www1.vecceed.ne.jp/~m-satomi/...agann_top.html |

Even when an episode is almost entirely sub-contracted to a studio, they still list it as "Animation coopration".
You can't really make any assumptions out of those credits. Rather, it's better to look at animators and staff names of the episode, and see where they belong, to determine how much of its content was oursourced work.

Yeah right. On some of them there's still some Gainax animtor stuck on the middle of the credit. But there was none on the xebec one and those after episode 17.
But then my favorite is the one by Dogakobo with Takashi Mukoda as AD *^_____^* |

Will someone clarify the "types" of Ganmen in the show? I've read on other websites there are classifications for everything up through Chou Ginga Gurren-Lagann but I'm not sure where that material is getting pooled from.
Oh, thank you for that. |

In the DS game it seems Kamina is alive. Well if that's the case maybe in the future SRW they'll have 2 routes for Kamina, death and alive. And there will be FAQs on keeping him alive.
And imho that maybe the alternate of the anime. Is there any news about an OVA about Kamina alive with the young Simon and Nia plus the babe Yoko? Or Sequels or spin offs? For Laughs Spoiler for KARMINA:

I've been rolling around the forums and other news sources and also did the usual "total waste of time because they never have info" search of ADV Films.
Any announcements on WHEN Gurren-Lagann will be released in R1 and what it will be titled?

Now is the Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann the biggest robot in history now? Because it seems to me that it is bigger then Getter Emperor, which I heard could squash a planet. Gainax seems to love making robot big, Gunubster was 200m, Diebuster was a planet size, and Tengen Tppa Gurren Lagann is just freaking huge.

Probably not. It's hard to measure given Tengen Toppa was in an artificial space, but remember, Chou Ginga was piloting it, so it couldn't have been bigger a the solar system. It was probably planet sized, probably Neptune, Saturn, or Uranus in height.
