The joy of knowing the clown is about to slip on the banana peel is nearly as good as knowing quite well how Bunko had dealt with the money. Mameda trying to win over the moustachioed villain in true shonen fashion was nice, as were her bonding moments with Bunko. The more deeply emotional moments with Bunko and her sensei weren't brilliantly supported by the generally light-hearted episode, but still nice in themselves.
The show committed pretty hard to showing a corrupt police force, rather than only telling about it as the Rakugo does. Though I've taken aboard my brother's suggestion that the charm of the familiar supplies reasonable appeal to both Rakugo and the banana. Overall, as I said, a nice little show. |
