Found it. If I understood it right, she made 100 samples of herself and a friend of hers just for the chorus of AL/MI tracks.
Quite interesting she decided to use the Shinkaiseikan POV for this (and using broken japanese to that effect), and it certainly was effective.

Flying Dog, the distributor in charge of Kancolle OST, has uploaded a preview of the full album.
If there is one thing that is void of criticism, that's definitely the overall soundtrack. I didn't expect so many chorus for certain tracks.

Also very fond of the BGM. And the character songs, all in all happy with the preview here. The Kongōs' song and the insert song of the Kisaragi sinking aftermath are top on my list, although the others are good too. Hibiki's chara song with a Russian touch.

With you on being surprised about the amount of chorus for some of the tracks. Really can't wait to give the OST a nice listen now...

The soundtrack's quite nice, being a combination of majestic, militaristic songs for the Kan-musume, then switching to a more ominous feel for the Abyssal's motifs, and making use of strings to really bring out the right mood for the more emotional pieces. Overall, the style's got an older feel to it, reflecting on the Kan-musume's origins. The soundtrack is so good that, truth be told, some of the pieces on the soundtrack could be used in a far more serious film, and they'd still work

The BGM soundtrack is definitely solid and they were able to pull off the march band feel in most of the scenes involving the Naval District. I was also dumbstruck that a one-cour series would get a 52-track original soundtrack.

The OST is so gonna get abused if ever I get to play World of Warships, whenever they go into Open Beta ;-;
The soundtrack really evokes the image of being in warships quite well.

I wonder how well the character's songs and OST will sell. I heard it almost everywhere I went today in Japan. Oh, and I've translated Hibiki's song here. It's kinda sad. I'll translate the cranes's song next
Spoiler for Itsumademo hibiku harasho:

Got my grubby hands on the OST today. I actually don't remember much of the battle music during the actual show, so hearing all of it has been very interesting.
It is a very suitable nautical battle soundtrack. I'm having the inevitable "that part reminds me of _____" though. |
