^There's plenty of good and neutral gods, but they're obviously not the ones that will pick a fight with Hestia familia easily.
This includes part of the top brass, with gods like Ganesha or Hephaistos being good willed for example, and Loki being at worse of neutral alignment. Hestia is friend with plenty of good aligned gods, like Takemikazuchi and Miach that we see in this episode, and Hermes is a neutral god as well.

The God's came to Earth simply for entertainment, thus they tend to favor things that give them a little bit of joy or indulge. In fact the whole concept of "dying" for them is being sent back to heaven and losing the game. It has been stated in the LN's that when Gods meet humans they tend to change, Loki is an example as she was far more violent than her current incarnation, Hestia is another example as she has become more hardworking after meeting Bell in comparison to her more lazy attitude before. There a few good Gods out there who are actively trying to help the world out of kindness, but that would be going into spoiler territory so I'll leave it at that for now.

When it's pretty clear that one Familia is bullying another when they outnumber that Familia about a 100 to 1, if the Gods/Goddesses observing this react in any other way than LOL and pass the popcorn then I think it makes it loud and clear. It's like watching a bunch of kids ripping wings off butterflies. With the spectacle that was made of this, I doubt this is the first time Apollo has done this.

At the least that makes sense for members of the Greek pantheon. After all, that's a group led by a serial rapist who's not willing to let anything get in between him and impregnating a girl who caught his fancy, especially the welfare of said girl. Plucking the wings off a fly or butterfly is quite accurate.

Is this a spoiler?
Eh, anyway, I don't know if there's anything new shown in that ais spinoff that aired sometime ago, and I didn't really watch that episode 0 thing, but everyone shown here feels familiar enough from s1 that I didn't have any problems remembering them. I like how we're starting s2 with what is essentially a tournament arc

Yeah, I think Hermes called him Zeus' grandson or descendant after he delivered the final blow to the monster.
(When you think about what his grandfather imparted on Bell when it comes to women, it makes a lot of sense).

For the leveling up part, I think Bell needs to continue and increase his stats to S levels before leveling up. That way, when he reaches level 3, he'll be a super Level 3 adventurer.
Also, with this familia war, from just the opening scene of the episode in the dungeon battle, I can guess that Lili, Welf, and Mikoto will join Bell. The bigger question is if Ryuu will find a way to join Bell as well or not. Personally, I hope that Ryuu will one day be forgiven and be allowed to join Hestia's familia. Oh, and I still expect Ais to be on stand by and help out Bell if she ever feels he is in danger during this "war".

Movie is not cannon at all, and contradict a lot of the danmachi lore as well.
Even the author said to not take it as part of the verse because it was made to be entertaining, so they made Bell do stuff she shouldn't have been able to do at level 2, and so on. This is also why Bell says in this episode that he never danced, even though you also saw him dance in the movie. For Zeus being the person bell refers as "grandpa", it's an info coming from vol 5, so end of the last anime season. Do note that gods can't have children though, so he's merely his adoptive grandchild. Remember, gods refers their familia members as "their children". In fact, it's simply guess from my part but most probably, Bell is the child of one of Zeus' "children" in that way, so the child of two mortals from Zeus familia.

Well, that was certainly an episode of Danmachi. Feels rather surreal watching this in 2019 since it looks like a such a mid 2000 anime series in a way that even the new SAO doesn't honestly.
I get why people feel like this an isekai as Goblin Slayer given how common its setting tropes are at this point. They are kind of blurring with there only being a minute difference between game-style fantasy series and game-style fantasy isekai. |
