After they mentioned that there was a high official of the Demon King around, as soon as I saw that castle, I knew he must have been in there. Every time they kept on using Explosion daily and repeatedly, I kept expecting him to come out and unleash his wrath. He was actually not that evil, considering he didn't go in full slaughter.
This episode really returned to pure comedy gold again, with the last episode not as good. Aqua with her bad luck could not claim any cabbage in the last question, while Kazuma gained high experience cabbage with his luck. He did want to move out of the barn. However, as luck would have it, there were no more quests he could make money off, so he had to stay in the barn to save money. Actually, Aqua made some comments about what he was doing in bed with her, so I wonder if he really did try to do some perverted things to her. Also, it looks like with practice, Megumin's explosion magic was getting better daily. It means that the team can actually improve a lot over time. Kazuma was about to throw in the towel on defeating the Demon King, but I'm guessing his luck will eventually get him to a level where he can defeat the Demon King.

That was pretty fun. Definitely got me with how serious things were getting with Megumin and Kazuma's preparation to head out to battle . Was completely thinking we were in for a two-part situation with them fighting on next week. And then well...that happened . Aqua actually reminding us that she did master some useful spells.
A great follow-up since the episode really hammered in Aqua's less than high intelligence. The girl spending way more than she had because she expected to get a huge haul from the cabbages, but instead got lettuce . As usual Kazuma basically gets blackmailed by his party. Rough one for Kazuma there having to pay hush money so she wouldn't keep talking about what he may have been up to on some nights . Did love Darkness just creeping out that Dullahan . She was totally into the possibility. Will give Darkness props, did show her tank qualities. Diving in there to block that spell from hitting Megumin. And even Aqua showing that yes she can be useful in the right situations. They all have character flaws, but have skills that almost no one in that town has. Nice work as well by Kazuma getting his million cabbage haul .

The second Megumin decided to test out her magic on that castle, I immediately realized that the Demon Kings' general mentioned earlier lived there. I actually feel bad for the poor guy. He gets his house bombed every day, and when he tries to meet the group responsible, he is confronted with a party of freaks and perverts. It says a lot that even Kazuma was worried about them bothering him.
On the bright side, Aqua finally got to be useful.

Daw, Megumin was so adorable in this episode. <3
And Kazuma entered the EXPLOSION fanclub. XD Poor Dullahan guy though. For weeks he endured all those explosions everyday and when he finally comes down to complain about it and, for an evil guy, ask nicely to stop doing that, his image gets totally ripped in pieces as an hardcore pervert due Darkness. XDDD Aqua's break curse spell was so anti-climatic even her own team wasn't happy about it. And ofc for the townfolks Aqua is the heroine of the day. And that with her being such a scumbag with how she blackmailed Kazuma outta his money. XD I'm really looking forward to those episodes, they're great and so much fun to watch. Hopefully this will get another season soon.

Fortunately, I don't think Megumin caught on to what Aqua was saying, and I doubt Darkness would see it as a problem.

Wow, Aqua was actually crying when he said that he wasn't going to defeat the Demon King. She was faking it at the end but I think she was serious initially.
Rikka and the MC had a really nice moment there. Before Aqua ruined it. Well... I say ruined it but she actually saved blondie from dying and stopped Rikka and the MC from getting killed. And that blondie... no comment I guess Quote:
He took it as blackmail but I don't think she actually thought it was something she could blackmail him with. Quote:
[Explosion] does so much damage it's an instant death spell to 90% of monsters on the planet. The only real improvement that would help is reducing the mana cost. Quote:

And heck he's probably going to be waiting for a head on showdown with the group that is never happening since Aqua cured Darkness pretty quickly . Definitely a lot of adorable Megumin moments in this one. Both with her being so darn happy about explosion magic and understanding the severity of the situation her actions resulted in. Props to her for walking out there and even talking to Dullahan. Also good on her for deciding to go after him to save Darkness even though she had to know it was hopeless with her limitations. Episode did end up with Kazuma and Megumin becoming stronger allies and better fans of explosions . Quote:
Yeah, Aqua did save the day but still ruined the moment . Megumin and Kazuma having a great little moment there, supporting each other and ready to take on the challenge....and then it was over. I also agree that Aqua probably didn't even think that far ahead. Megumin was pretty quick to blackmail Kazuma, but this was probably more inadvertent. Was caught up in teasing him and he broke before she could think of the level of blackmail.

BTW, loving how Megumin has a different chuuni invocation for Explosion every time she casts it. The only thing that's the same each time is her yelling "Explosion!" at the end, which makes me think that that's the only part that's actually required for the spell... Ah, man... Now we have to wait another week again for more broken goodness... Well, luckily for her, Intelligence isn't required for priestly abilities. Usually in these settings it's Wisdom, but I'm guessing it's not that in this setting. Since Aqua only has one other stat that's below average (Luck), then Wisdom must be tied into Intelligence, since she has little of either...

man while this show is really fun, is hard to not compare with the manga some aspects and say if you really want non sense and laught read the manga, somethings are different from anime, specially aqua and mc and for "worst", I feel like anime is making the group look more "fun and cute" than worst and crap, in manga things are mor weird specially the girls.
Another note finally we start to see how "powerfull" his "luck" stat is(they skiped some material), if they don't skyp to much things can be really more interesting. So far this show is really good my only complain is which he "could be even more fun and weird" if they followed more the manga(since i'm not read the novel i really don't know how different manga and novel could be but at last manga is really fund and you laught hard for the situations".

Some opinions of Aqua would be changed right about now.
Megumin, I bet she rehearsed for these kinds of events. But gets cold feet because everyone is watching. She thought of some other ideas along the way before make her dramatic entrance. No doubt, Megumin will become the S of Darkness's M. Glad everyone is loving this episode. |

When they mentioned that one of the Generals is stationed nearby I was like "Yep, he's in that castle.", lo and behold...
It's like Darkness learned everything she knows about being a knight from porn magazines. I love how Aqua waited long enough for them to have a touching scene before casually breaking the curse. |
