It relates to their entire situation actually, that in a world that has gone to hell and has all of its social structures in the brink of collapse, one's morals would have to adjust in order to live in it. This is the real and underlying message when he says that he accepts her darkness in order to survive, inasmuch he has come to already accept his own.

In a more normal and peaceful world, Saeko's dark side would have gotten her cast out and ostracized by society, depending on what systems are in place in order to treat her. Institutions for mental health, prisons, the law... you name it. But during the zombie apocalpyse, one just might have to embrace that, and perhaps even rely on survival instincts over some personal sense of human deceny in order to surivive. Saeko's urges are now 'normal' in their new world, and she doesn't need to look away from them, especially now when she can channel all of these towards 'them', and has someone who can serve has her anchor.

Killing Hisashi, one best friend leaving the other in order to save one's own skin, leaving Rei's molester as a distraction for the zombies... all decisions made for the sake of survival. Saving Alice, while going against this notion, also serves to highlight this, and it's their one true shining moment so far.

But that acceptance is only until social order is restored. After that, all those repressed dark emotions and actions that were let go have to go back into Pandora's box. Takashi has to accept her dark side to survive. Saeko is basically a human weapon, nothing more. Weapons eventually get discarded when they're not useful or destroyed.

Alas, the same can be said about Hirano. His gun otaku self isn't very acceptible. He's had to repress his feelings to get by in high school. Now he can let it all out.

Well it still is Highschool of the Dead, so a break from all the boob-grabbing, thongs, and virginity can wait till the next episode is released, right now it would be a good time to discuss philosophy. (Oh wait that is impossible, were just waiting till someone brings more thoughts of the boob-grabbing, thongs, and virginity subject)

Your making it sound like Takashi only accepted Saeko, simply because of the fact that if he did anything else, he would have died by either Saeko or the zombies. Well with this new development were defiantly going to see more Rei vs Saeko vs Saya fight going on, but Saya is enjoying her dreams of Hirano

It depends on which social order is put in place. If Saeko doesn't like it, she can just move to live on her own (with Takashi), and not be a bother to anyone. She'll only become problematic if she becomes actually addicted to killing and moves beyond beheading 'Them'.

A lot of people living in today's world, if they actually acted on their repressed natures, would definitely be ostracized and in extreme cases, either placed in mental institutions or even killed for being so far out of the 'normal' circle that society dictates.

Some type of social order arises. The newspapers are suggesting martial law will start. So, human weapons are discarded when not needed.

I suppose she could go live in an isolated area with zombies around to kill occasionally but she has to repress those homicidal tendencies if she wants to survive after the zombie crisis ends.

If the 'zoms' last for 28 days, then yeah, any chance of the old social order coming back will be moot. Not to mention all the nukes waiting around to be detonated as well. So it's possible that we might get the 'Resident Evil' story end. 5 years later, the gang locates and go after the still-surviving corporation(s) responsible for the outbreak. RE:HOTD...wow...

Not really. The weight is also a symptom of his repressed self. The more outgoing he becomes with a better self esteem, the more weight he should lose.

You may be right that social order will arise again and dominate the world....but what type of order would it be?? Maybe Shidoism!!!! Or maybe some conservative tyrant, or a liberal freak. Once the reset button has been hitted, you may get back to a similar setting you had before, but there will be changes...for better or for worst.

Now about Saeko, I agree that she is a walking weapon atm, but remember she is still a female!! And the world needs to be repopulated for the economy to start running again.

Besides, it is a fact that weapons are discarded sooner or later, but you don't know when!! Might be 28 days later, 28 weeks later,or 28 years later...or even more if they go for a "Escape from LA" ending in which someone gets the nuclear Football and uses the 666 code to EMP the whole world...then Saeko value as a meele fighter went up the scale.

Now about Saya...I am quite sure of 2 things:
1) While awake, she wants to be the honest bride/master of Takashi
2) While dreaming, she wants 3 Hiranos (up, down, and back) ready to make her their slave.

It's truly all about social and moral decay. Everyone is affected by it, but non the less being the main heroes(Takashi/Hirano) they kept their pants on and didn't go balistic insane like the rioters and the crazed dude in the gas station.

As for the girls liking Takashi it's all about plot armor. Hirano has a the loli just let Hirano and Alice survive a few more years and she'll be legal enough for him.

Yes, I agree, but I think this more true for personal reasons.

Society may one day give rise to new means of order, but the changes we're truly witnessing in the story are about the personal ones. It's not just about how society changes, but how people change as well.

Takashi and co. have gotten a look at a side of themselves they've kept secured from within, but it's all so different now. Saeko has tasted her bloodlust; she now accepts it, and likes what she sees. Hirano has a chance to be cool and important, a far cry from the socially hopeless dork his peers perceive him to be. For Rei, this zombie apocalypse serves as a back drop from which she is given a chance to explore where she stands with Takashi, despite whatever consequences that could possibly arise.

Even if/when social order returns, these changes will remain irrevocable. Once social order comes back, they'll just have to find a way to cope and adjust all over again, but the changes will still be there.

All the morally dubious actions taken in the previous episodes were not that much that morally dubious due to the zombie apocalypse they are facing.

Now, using the feeling and memories that Saeko had just shared and manipulating her in order to yield her like a weapon is totally not cool. That was my perception during the temple scene, which disgusted me, despite the awesome Saeko action.

I would prefer Takashi to try taking a less destructive route but such would probably be too boring and wouldn't offer enough etchi opportunities.
