Nah. The reason Hirata got like that was because he didn't like the idea of the class coming to a consensus on who to expel. Even if that would ultimately benefit the class he was against Horikiya's idea of expelling Yamauchi. He tries focusing the hatred of the class towards himself. That ultimately didn't work and Yamauchi was successfully expelled. At the end of the volume he was really depressed. I'm interested in what will happen with him from now on...

Yeah, so I said it started a big mess that led to Hirata's mental state, I just contextualized what led to the scene. I believe that in vol 11 it will be Ayanokouji that will make Hirata go back to being who he was. Now how that will happen will create many possibilities.

The rules for the exam:
Each class chooses 10 events each. Each event must have a clear winner or a loser and rules to make sure it will never become a draw. Then they choose 5 from those 10, meaning 5 of the events are fakes, distractions. So each class has 5 events each totalling 10. Then the school will randomly choose 7 from those. Events cannot be changed once decided on. Each class has a leader who can interfere with the events according to the rules the students decide upon themselves. The example used is rock-paper-scissor. The rules can be set that the player can be substituted. If football or other sports, the leader can also be the substituted etc. They win private points, but will be expelled if the class loses. They have a support role in other words. The format is 1 class vs 1 other class like during the Paper Shuffle.

8th March: The classes will know who they will face
15th March: All classes must have handed in 10 events by this date. The events and rules will be sent to the opposing class
22th March: The day of the final exam where all events will be held
