isn't mio there for that purpose also? cruz is like that to hid his identity, his appearance bychance happens to fill that role also. mio is just there to tag along for fun.

The description on the bottom seems to be talking about the past mainly. I first thought it might be the resistance leader (which would be awesome to learn about the resistance) but I think he might be the head of Overload.

Edit: I'm also wondering about the Guild's name. The phonetics are "Oobaaloodo" which sounds like Overload to me. Looking at the kanji for it, it's for "Supreme Being" or "God", so I was thinking maybe it's supposed to be called Overlord (which would make sense with that guy in the preview). Still, either would work I guess since they're pretty similar names.

Yup, it looks like it's really Overlord (or Overload, whatever).

So we already have here the major villian from the arc. That Voras was probably a member of the guild too.

Their leader looks really strong, I wonder what kind of fragment he might have...

I'm not a fan of flashback arcs either, simply because the present characters and situations are almost always far more interesting than anything introduced in flashback. I'm hoping this arc doesn't last much longer.

Though all this talk of Overlords now makes me glad that I chose "Overseers" rather than "Overlords" as the translation for the name of the Simeon group that Hatfield was from.

May I say, this is not a flashback but a world created due to the alteration of Blade's memories. A flashback was the Adam Project one, not this.

Current arc will wrap up soon, but you can't say when because who knows how many interesting developments will happen, related to Eve as the arc focuses on her, and related to Cruz who may learn and gain something.

Also, saying flashbacks are not as interesting as current time, like I said this is not a flashback, not by a long shot.

& yeah i was surprised about who appears in the end, though just thinking about where this arc could be going, i can see why a lot of people say it's the best the manga has to offer.

I hope Disk never gets her body back.

One thing I've been curious about is if Blackout Invoke will be used on anyone else in the series (and maybe go through a shorter arc than this) in order to develop the character. Would be interesting to see it used on someone like Cruz or Aruka.

On a less serious note, I love it when Mio is whispering to Cruz. I think it's the cutest thing she does in the whole series. What's funny about that is she does seem very battle smart (being aware of the things around her and about how to fight) so I wonder why she doesn't have other smarts as well. It's been hinted she has trouble reading and writing (I wonder how she understands Kuchinashi) so I wonder if we'll see her get smarter throughout the series.

You mean whisper to Cruz some more lol... I think I know what you're talking about but I think her joining Blade's faction, remaining undetected in Iron Mountain and capturing Cruz was smarter. She was outnumbered 3 to 1 and kidnapped an important hostage for Simeon. She also saved Cruz's life when he was falling into that hole near the beginning of Iron Mountain, too.
