I have seriously no idea how you can think that. The "dramatic action sequence" sticks out like a sore thumb, especially when one considers the tone of the series. While this show has shown fits of drama, it has always been low-key, and its resolutions normally fit that.
Then all of a sudden we have "HEY GUYS! MOVEMENT! RUNNING AROUND! ACTION MOVIE MUSIC!" Frankly, this feels as out of place as a hostage taking and shootout in Tamayura.

It is also a blatant attack on the character of Amaterasu whose interest has always been the protection of the gods she is in charge of. Having her sitting there and doing nothing while Uka dies is a violation of what her character is meant to be.
Someone on another forum I went to raised a different objection to the ending which I also find worth noting. Let me quote a couple of posts here rather than paraphrse... Quote:

Was pleasantly surprised while watching the OVA today.
It was a cute episode that would have fit well into the series. Inari looks great with her hair in a ponytail. That Kon Punch had to hurt though lol. Last edited by Flower; 2014-07-01 at 02:57. Reason: please do not mention such sites... |

This brought back nice memories about the anime series.
It was interesting to see how life continued after everything that happened. At least Inari didn't give up on the shrine, even if she can't see Uka anymore. They threw in a nice side story. That Shiro sure was a persistent boy. This OVA would fit it nicely with the rest of the series as a regular episode. Damn, I want this anime to return with a 2nd season!

Damn, watching that OVA I again had that warm feeling inside that comes from watching something so innocent and unpretentious as Inari Konkon, and after finishing it, I feel somewhat nostalgic
I guess I'll have to read the manga. |

The biggest revelation to me in this OVA is that Kon is actually a girl, whereas I believed it was a boy for the duration of the anime. While you usually see familiar that transform into a human to be very uncomfortable, or even clumsy in that form, Kon seemed to hold herself really well, to the point where even Inari was fooled, until Kon accidentally revealed who she actually was.
Didn't really like the whole story about Kouji's little brother, though. Little kids aren't my thing, so to see one as annoying as Shiro makes me wish ever more that I'll never have kids. I must say, though, Kon is a lot stronger than she appears to be. I didn't think Inari expected her to hit her in the stomach as hard as she did. Was fun to see Inari gasping for air, though.
