yeah, toriyama doesn't want to make goku surpassed or equal to beerus in terms of power. super retconned the 70% power beerus used against SSG in BOG. While if BOG power scale still matter then SSB should have close the gap by SSB being 80% of beerus power, and SSBKKX10 is on 90% or 95% of beerus power

I don't really have any problem with Beerus being this strong but the way they handled it was so messy.

Making the gap between SSG Goku and Beerus this massive really ruined the epicness of BOG and SSG Goku vs Beerus, for me at least.

If they wanted to keep Goku away from Beerus level they could have avoided the whole "absorbing SSG" thing, and actually have Goku train to that level eventually.

If Beerus is really so stronger than Goku, he could have trained him as he already had bad thoughts about Zennoh's possible plans about the tournament during the Universe 7 vs Universe 6 arc

It's just a bunch of inconsistencies that mess it up. Goku training to that level should take years, but then you have Frieza doing it because of his potential out of nowhere right after that arc. Then you have escalating power levels around Goku and the people he fights, but then it's just "lol light years away from Beerus-sama still!" even though we should be well onto an enemy at least at his tier soon due to obligatory power creep

I've thought of that. Something along the lines of the reason Jiren is sitting back is because he's like a power sponge. Just charging and feeds off the energy of others. It'd make him strong enough to give a good fight but not be the mortal.

What I was suggesting is that they should have made SSG actually close to Beerus like BOG, instead of being like 1% or less than full power Beerus, and then avoid the absorbing thing to keep Goku out of that tier for a while.
Vegeta did reach Blue without absorbing SSG anyway, though Whis said it'll be only possible by training under him(watch Caulifla get this just by tingling her ass....).

Now looking back, SSG Goku initially was so shit to Beerus his dream/vision about Super Saiyan God just seems silly/forced now.

Oh well, super has much worse issues tbh... still love it though

Just a thought. But either way I'd be annoyed if new form Goku still isn't at least near 100% Beerus level, enough to give him a good fight. They made the gap between Goku and Beerus far too large compared to BOG movie __________________

sayde Senior Member Join Date: Dec 2005	Spoiler for future episodes: Maybe Goku's practiced a new technique inspired by what future Trunks did towards the end of the previous arc which will result in a new transformation/power up that involves absorbing the spirit bomb. This would at least explain why his new upcoming form doesn't seem to be a SSJ transformation. I'd assume if he's creating a genkidama that has energy from a bunch of GoD's, Angels, and even 2 Zeno's, then its plausible for such a spirit bomb to be more powerful than anything we've seen before--which in turn would make the resulting power boost from absorbing it allow Goku to believably match Jiren for a brief period of time.
