Did we watch the same show? Inaho's MO in battle is indeed mostly logic, however his drive, his motivation are his emotions. It's subtle, but it was appearent if you paid more attention to his actions than his facial expressions.

Maybe I did not word things correctly. What I meant is that even though his motivations stem from emotions the way carries out his actions are through logic while Slaine just allows his emotions to get the best of him when he deals with things and usually does not put much thought in the things he does, thats exactly the reason why the princess almost died in episode 12.

Perhaps that is a good way to look at it. I just hope Slaine isn't turned into a generic villain because he was pretty creepy this episode.

So he would leave her to die. Would you kill somebody you love in this manner?

I'm not so sure of it. Saazbaum might have not trusted ANYONE enough to give them a namelist of all the people who supported the assassination. That would be beyond idiotic. Those folk are also not the only guys that Slaine should be wary of. As I mentioned, some people didn't partake in the assassination, but may still support the war. It would run against their goals to have the princess resurface and call for peace.

You didn't provide any examples from the show. You basically listed some general information on genocide.

He wouldn't be leaving her to die. That's the point. He would be leaving her to the Terrans.

Slaine wouldn't need a list of name. It would be the people under Saazbaum's rule. And supporting the war is not the same as betraying the royalty.

This goes against any logic known to men. The Terrans' ship crashed. It's no guarantee they would be able to provide the right emergency aid to the princess and do it in a timely manner. If Slaine believes they are just using the princess, then, according to his train of thought, nothing would stop them from just ditching her.

No. The assassination was a joint venture of a number of royals. Not everybody from that group served under Saazbaum. Still doesn't solve the problem of Martians who never heard of the assassination attempt, but support the war anyway.

There is no betrayal if the truth never surfaces. These guys are not some medieval knights for whom honour and loyalty are the highest values.

The Terrans would still have more chance of saving Asseylum if he couldn't trust the Martians.

And whether or not Asseylum is being used, there is no way they would let her die when she is valuable to them.

The people who never heard about the assassination plot would have no problem with helping Asseylum. Part of the reason why they restarted the war was to avenge Asseylum in the first place.

This is complete bullshit. It's as if the writers decided to make the anime take every single worst development possible. You like this character? Well, too bad, they're in coma. You disliked this character? They're even more ridiculously Mary Sue. You liked that character? Let's make them evil and as OOC as possible. And the Inao gaining the ability to control the Aldnoah is so fucking ridiculous and nonsensical, I don't even know how to describe it. You'd think that in an anime that tries to be realistic and serious such a stupid and rookie writing mistake won't happen. Well, you're wrong, because this anime is shit.

Do you have an actual reason to think that it's ridiculous and nonsensical other than you not liking him to have that ability?

It's supposed to be a genetic attribute of the royal family. It is literally impossible to get that ability simply by kissing a person bearing it. It's a gene, not a virus you can catch.

Um, then how did all those Knight get, if it's just genetic? It's also been hinted at that Slaine may have gotten it the same way.

Slaine just decides who can get Aldnoah rights, "Asseylum" would still have to grant the rights herself. Aldnoah's power has never been fully explained, and it works unusually because of its alien nature. From what we have gathered, Aldnoah itself possesses some form of sentience, since it seemed to actually choose Rayregalia, and bound itself to his DNA, giving him all the knowledge and power of Aldnoah, including how to build the drives, the kataphrackts, and gave him full activation rights. He transfers this power through his genome to his descendants, from himself, to his son, who passed it to his two daughters. He can give limited aldnoah rights to the knights, however, from what we see, this seems to be able to be done several ways. Lemrina gave it to Slaine knowingly through a kiss and can control how much rights she gives him, since she said it was for one time use. The counts seem to have it at a much more permanent basis, since they use the power to build their own drives, kataphrackts, and power their castles. They just can't pass on such power through their genetic code.

Asseylum gave Aldnoah rights away twice unknowingly, once with Slaine when she saved him, and then again with Inaho when he saved her. The main part of the power in that case, seems to be the glow, however, with Inaho, it was her blood that activated it, since it didn't activate on it's own. With Slaine, it's unknown how he was able to activate the blood within him. Slaine's Aldnoah power was only a one time thing though, since he wasn't able to activate Tharsis after Lemrina shut it off. We don't know how long Inaho's power will last or if he can use it again since we've never seen him try.

I wonder if that's not because Lemrina took it away from him during the interim period, maybe as a sign of loyalty from him to her. Saazbaum apparently couldn't do it either.

This I know. The question was a bit of a sarcastic/rhetorical one aimed at the person I quoted since they seem to call Inaho being able to activate an aldnoah drive BS since aldnoah powers apparently are just genetic and can't be passed on like some virus. It's true that "main rights" resides within the bloodline of the royal family. But we know that they can grant minor access rights to various people. If aldnoah powers couldn't be granted (or perhaps the better word would be loaned) to other individuals then the counts wouldn't be able to use their mechs, and Slaine wouldn't have been able to activate the Tharsis back in season one. Basically, I was sardonically in very few words pointing out that if Inaho being able to do it because of a kiss and/or blood from Asseylum, then the whole aldnoah power itself is BS considering how many other people have been granted minor rights from royal family members.

About Saazbaum is still unclear, but Asseylum did shut his castle drives down.
Spoiler for about Lemrina and speculations on Saaz's:

Actually, I'm not sure why he didn't power more machines himself, but he had to have the more permanent version of Aldnoah rights, since he had to be able to power his own castle, kat, and army. And he did power Dioscuria II himself, so he still had Aldnoah rights, but I'm wondering if he wanted he just let the princess do it to give her something to do? He's taken care of her all this time and kept her a secret from the royals, he would be the one who would have had to teach her how to use her powers. It's also possible that your ability to use Aldnoah is related to your health, just like the drives are connected to your life force. We have never seen the Emperor really power anything since we've seen him. Lemrina uses an Aldnoah powered wheelchair, but Asseylum is using a regular mechanical one. It's possible that because of Asseylum more fragile health she wouldn't be able to use the same amount of Aldnoah like she used to until she gets better? Saazbaum could be the same, since he actually seems to have been permanently affected by being shot up before. He didn't used to have to use a cane all the time, and he was one of the oldest characters.

im pretty sure Saazbaum left Lemrina to power all the others machines , because he was going to fight too , how would that end up if all the aldnoah drive he has power up himself shut down because he died ? so it simple to avoid it , you have Lemrina do it who is safe and sound in a Vers Base on the moon , where nobody can come and hurt her.

That makes sense. If he dies, all the troops would have been dead in space.
