^ the fast regeneration of the enemy is unexpected and the sheer number is madness. Look at one of the missile/capsule/rocket ship? its being swallowed by lots of them.
This is most of the problem for alien race. Humanity might developed powerful weapons but you can't beat sheer number with superior technology alone.

- Robert Oppenheimer, quoting the Bhagavad Gita. Glad someone else thought of that with the looks on their faces. I'd have to imagine the implications of introducing such destructive power to a society unfamiliar with them will be one of the driving themes in this show. |

What does get me is why didn't they have more then one set of those hyperthingymagig ships? Have one charged ready to fire as the other one is charging... I guess it could be cost, but it cost more to loose the fleet imho!

Hmmm... If an episode is already available in English subs, then are these not spoilers, according to animesuki's spoiler policies? They may be "spoilers" in the general sense of the term, but not actual spoilers for the forum. Or am I wrong? Time to re-read the spoiler policy. |

As for the new weapons i guess that they just finished making those and ended the budget, or it would have taken too much to build some more. |

No time traveling. The Galactic Human Alliance thought Earth was uninhabitable due to an ice age and don't know where it would be.
Surprise surprise the ice age ended and humanity took to the seas. By this time both human groups consider the other as myths and legend. |

Interesting tech in this anime. Did anyone else notice that in episode one Red's right hand didn't have his gun for a moment then when the squirrel thing jumped on his face it was magically back. Some sort of expandable dimensional pocket on his hip? Somehow he kept two teeth and a pistol in that form fitting suit.
Also the Floater mechanic for making Chamber fly, it makes me think of the Star Carrier series of novels where they used micro-singularities to propel spacecraft. Think how much energy that takes to create a small black hole to pull you across the sky. Then contrast that with the earth natives. They have AKs, MP5s and M16s! Must have had a well preserved 21st century armory underwater. I wonder if that's an attempt to make them relatable to us. The UroButcher has his hands in this so I'm prepared to experience some heartache. Let's hope the rest is still awesome as Rider charging Gilgamesh. |
