You want to know a question I want answer in this movie even if it unimportant to the story and that why did Nanoha older brother Kyouya end up in Germany and for him to make another cameo in the movie because he last make a cameo in Nanoha A well Nanoha family just make a cameo in Nanoha Vivid.

Looking at this the mechanical feel doesn't seem to have been lost. Nanoha still has those ridiculously large mecha cuffs. Taking a glance at the artwork from the 2nd movie the chest bit has lost it's prongs and the ... damn what is the word ... hair scarves are not as big as before so they don't look like antenas/pokey bits of a robot.

It would have been kind of unlikely that this is a direct adaptation of a small game. They seem to be retooling the characters and the conflict setup though.

Am I the only one who thinks that the designers are trying to make up for the 10+ years that Fate was running around in a body suit / leotard with this new design? Will most of this added stuff be dropped when she goes into Sonic Form?

I liked that suit, though this one is fine too. Always loved the white cape.

Fate's old barrier gear was one of the most jailbaity combat gear I've seen in the genre. Especially in sonic form.

Yeah, Fate has definitely armored up in comparison to the original series

. Definitely feels like she's geared up to go fight monsters or something. Though it's not a huge departure from what she used during the Nanoha A's movie. The boots are more substantial and a few changes here and there, but basically what you'd expect from the movies.

The group certainly looks ready for some combat

As if the girls didn't look mechanical enough previously.... Fate for instance normally only wears metallic shoes, now she's wearing metallic boots that wouldn't look out of place on a mecha.

At the very least these barrier gears looks more like they can actually absorb some hefty beam spams than previous iterations.

Or more stuff might get added on like jets/rockets, because jets mean speed.

More likely they'll undress her as you suspect because they need to give lolicons what they want to see.
