The only dark part of Symphogear has always been the back stories of the characters. Beyond that yea it's a very light hearted action series. However I will agree that they seem to present more then few cases of inconsistent character growth involving Hibiki however I like to think it's just that they haven't finished covering it.

Hibiki has been through a lot and this season seems to be polishing of the last of her family falling apart.

I'm catching up with the series again.... seriously, Hibiki was retard but in this season she tries harder than usual, "My Gungnir", seriously?

And taking a look at pixiv, it seems fans care more about Chris, Tsubasa and Garie this season... Hibiki, not so much.

It will be interesting to see how this series ranks among the others by the end. I do think the odd regression for Hibiki kind of hurts, but there has been a lot of good that I think makes up for it. Whether it's a plus or negative may vary for people, but I like how every episode has had something big going on or some kind of fight. Even as things get moved forward, they still find some time for some entertaining action.

Season 1 is interesting since it was certainly intended to be a one-shot thing and had some dark moments. You get those backstories, but also things just felt really dangerous. Season 2 did have the moon falling, but it didn't feel as dark. But, I still enjoyed the songs a bit more, the new characters were solid (though poor Maria...) and did do some fairly good follow-up to the first season when it came to Hibiki's health and the human/relic fusion issue.

I think season 3 could end up the best just because they seem to have a good balance here. The villain is much more season 1 based, and really for the first half of the show the main cast just felt like they were getting overwhelmed. This time the enemy feels threatening from the Autoscorers to Carol herself. Will see how the rest of the season turns out though. No telling until its over.

Yeah, that "My Gungnir" scene kind of really cost Hibiki some likes among the fanbase. Chris and Tsubasa have always been popular as the main leads, and Maria seems to be shaping up to be quite a major character as well. Her role in that "My Gungnir" scene did her fanbase no harm at all!

The Autoscorers look really nice. Micha is absolutely adorable, and it'll be so sad if she was just destroyed like that at the end, which seems likely as despite her cuteness she's not designed to for anything other than combat. The one with the most personality so far is (s)Garie, but it's hard to root for her when she's so scary, sadistic and cruel. We don't see enough of Leiur and Phara to like them, although to me Phara is absolutely gorgeous.

Around halfway through the series already.... and it feels like we've just started. I keep thinking it's just the day after the events in the first episode for some reason....

I'm curious to see how these Ignite Modules may backfire. We've kind of seen important figures that relate to their dark impulses with Tsubasa (her father) and Chris (basically everyone, but Kirika and Shirabe specifically). If they just completely lose control those could be people in the line of fire as a result.

It is and she looks marvelous on Airgetlam too.
I'm curious to see what Ignite module for other three as well because Black is kinda look sexy pie if you think about it.xD

If we can believe aniDB, then the next episode is going to air tomorrow for some reason. I don't how reliable that info is, but aniDB is usually pretty accurate when it comes air dates.

A golf tournament was being aired during GX's time slot on it's normal station so the episode was pushed back it will be airing next week with episode 8.

However GX also airs on a cable station the day after so you may be getting it that.

There must be a reason for that. I hope we figure out what he was researching.

Carol's dad and Hibiki's dad seem to be the exact opposite.

I think Carol's dad buried his sins to protect his daughter while Hibiki's dad ran away from his in the process made her daughter suffer.

Hibiki's dad probably worse than Tsubasa's dad.
