Mordred typically refers to herself with male pronouns, but it's been confirmed that Mordred's biologically female.

According to Legend Mordred was a son fro mone of Arthur's sisters, he was the one who tried to overtook the throne from Arthur by rebelling half of his nations against him. In the final battle Arthur was able to defeat him but not before he himself received mortal wound as well.

In Fate universe is mostly the same, since Arthur was in face Arthuria she needed beside wife also a son to cover up for her real identity. So Mordred became her son, but in Fate universe Mordred was also a female.

In F/SN anime you have the scene where both of them fight and where Mordred wounds her fatally, after she received that wound it was Bedivere who found her on a field of battle and brought her to woods where she died in the end.

Not quite. Mordred was not conceived intentionally (at least on Saber's part), and Saber never really recognised him as her son as such. She knew he would not be suitable as an heir.

What caused Kiritsugus death? I thought it was because of the grail cursing him in F/Z, but at the end of F/SN Kirei says he killed him.

It's the Grail, one can say that it was Angri Mainyuu talking THROUGH kirei.

It was because of the Grail cursing him. Kirei could have meant he indirectly killed him, but the inconsistency has probably more to do with Fate/Zero having been written after Fate/Stay Night. It isn't the only inconsistency you will encounter. For example Saber claims to have fought Gilgamesh in the 4th Grail War, but in Fate/Zero you can see they haven't even exchange one blow. (I don't count hitting the Grail behind Gilgamesh, it was even an involuntary action, because Saber was forced to do it by the Command Spell.)

Which actions of Kirei would be associated with "Angri Mainyuu talking THROUGH kirei"?

That she was on the defensive the entire time doesn't mean it wasn't a fight.

Introduced my friend to FSN and he had a question after watching ep 1 which I could not answer with certainty. "How did Shirou get his powers?" referring to Shirou's "trace on" ability.

The sheath of Excalibur in his body changed his element to Sword.

I misspoke, it's not Shirou's "trace on" (projection) ability but rather his basic reinforcement ability and how he can see inside objects, like when he was fixing the school's things.

What do you mean by changing his element to Sword? Also I made a mistake in my earlier post.

Simply that: whatever Shirou's Element was prior to gaining Avalon, it was changed to the Element of "Sword" when Avalon was conceptualized within him. Similarly, his Origin was changed to that of "Sword" due to the scabbard.

As for his basic Reinforcement abilities, that's a basic Magecraft skill that's otherwise useless. It was taught to him by Kiritsugu.

To be fair, Kotomine is always one to glorify the truth without actually lying about it. It is a fact that the grail aligned with Kotomine's thinking, and indeed did heed his wish in the end. It is what caused the destruction of that neighborhood and also what killed Kiritsugu. In that respect, one could say that Kotomine -did- kill Kiritsugu.

So, question about Holy Grail wish granting process (obviously involves spoilers about truth of grail)

Spoiler:

Early Fate/hollow Ataraxia spoilers

Spoiler:

Might be hard to get a answer considering I doubt many here have played F/HA, but might as well try anyway.

Could anyone find a logical way to explain Gilgamesh's obsession with Saber?

He got fascinated by her struggle against insufferable odds to save her county. There aren't many people who would be able to go to such length as her and not give up.
He wants to posses anything of great value and/or beauty. In his eyes Saber fits in this category, because he finds Saber's struggle and obsession beautiful.

Spoiler for Fate/Zero Light Novel Quote:

Thanks! And either way, Shirou always truimph!

But that remind me, how much connection is there between Kara no Kyodai and Fate? I've never played the former.

Pretty sure Kara no Kyoukai is just anime and novels, no game. That said, there's a connection at the end of Heaven's Feel, but that's about all.
