“So... You think you have the right to talk back at me just because you're no longer under my wing?” Mikoto condescendingly smacks Inami, deploying her [Raphael]. “This time I'll make sure I'll put you in your place... and I'll also make sure you stay there.”

Practically peeved by her words, Inami takes a step aside and cocks his particle cannon. “We'll see about that.”

“We definitely will.” She brings out her [Ingram] rifle. “Trying to act tough will only get you so far, boy.”

Heh. Inami snickers. “That's quite a statement coming from someone like you.” He points to her. “And now you're acting like some mentor I never asked for.”

“Oh NOW you've done it...” She aims the gun at the Minerva. “You're history, kid!”

The first shot zips across the arena, over his shoulder as he ducks and into the wall, causing a ripple on the protective barrier. He dashes towards her, firing three shots while she returns with three of her own. The beam shots hit her barrier while he dodges hers as they hit the ground.

Mikoto whips out the [Iron Sail] and Inami jumps over, barely missing her swift stab. “Wha--?” she says as three more shots hit her back. In anger, she turns around and throws the assault knife. He lifts up his arm and the thrown knife goes under, stabbing the ground in front.

He turns back and his right arm gets caught by her wired grappler. She tries to reel him in but he activates the retractable anchor claws below the [Minerva's] feet, stomping the ground to hold himself in place and returns fire.

“Ergh!” Particle fire hits her chest and shoulders. She cringes watching the numbers on her barrier power indicator dropping. “Not so fast, kid!” She pulls the wired grappler back hard, pulling Inami off his foothold and into the ground then reels him in again.

She catches his shoulder and slams him face first into the arena walls. “Don't EVER get personal with me!” She pulls him out and slams him into the wall again then throws him away like a toy.

Inami is floored some distance away, exhausted while Mikoto walks to his side, picking up her [Iron Sail] along the way and lifts him up by his neck. “Had enough?” She says as she holds the knife up his chin.

For a moment, he remains seemingly lifeless until he coughs and snickers. “Hardly...” His word distracted her for a second long enough to kick himself away. “Now it's my turn...”

With a smirk, he detaches the arm-mounted particle cannon.

“That thing can be--?” He rams into Mikoto before she could finish her words, knocking her back. “So you want more, huh?!” She brings out the Ingram and opens fire.

Inami zeroes in on her, boosting himself from side to side avoiding fire until he gets close where she lunges the Iron Sail towards him. He drops back, sliding under her arm then slides his leg to the back of her feet, kicking off her foothold and she falls face-first into the ground.

She turns and lunges the knife towards him again, only to have the blade caught in his grip with his other hand catching her arm. He exerts so much force that the [Iron Sail] gets crushed in his hand then thrusts his fistful of broken knife pieces into the side of her helmet.

The impact was so hard that it momentarily threw off her focus, giving him time to execute a boost-assisted kick into her chest, sending her crashing into the arena walls.

He approaches her as she gets up from the concrete rubble, trying to get hold of her again only to have her turn around early and deliver a punch straight into his face. She dashes head-on as he stumbles backwards, bringing out the [Ingram] then plants the barrel on his chest.

With her finger inches from pulling the trigger, he grabs the rifle's barrel and pushes it away.

“Too slow!” He crushes the barrel in his hand, pulling it off her grip then spins around and slams the weapon into the side of her head. The impact created a slight fracture on her helmet.

“How's this?!” Mikoto brings out twin [Garm] sub-machine guns and sprays him with bullets. Even with the particle barrier protecting him, Inami still dashes around to avoid fire. He picks up the crushed [Ingram] rifle and tosses it towards her.

She riddles the [Ingram], causing it to explode directly in front of her. The explosion obscures her view and Inami exploits the situation, blowing through the flames and executes a spinning kick at Mikoto, whom manages to block with her arm.

Being too close to her target, Mikoto gets the [Garms] knocked off her hands but she manages to catch both his fists as he tries to punch her. Inami however, activates his thrusters and flies overhead, spinning his body around as he lands that she falls flat on her face when he throws his arms down.

He springboards off her back and gains distance while she gets up and whips out a second [Iron Sail].

“WOOAAAAAAH!!” The two charge at each other. As the gap between them closes, Mikoto pushes the knife towards Inami while he throws his fist into her head once more. The trooper falls to the ground while he stumbles back then grabs the back of her collar and waist armor.

“Rrrgh...!” He struggles and eventually manages to carry the IS on top of him, even with the flashing alert prompts on the [Minerva's] helmet interface warning him of the mounting stress upon the [EXA Frame's] [APP Field].

He throws her down a short ways ahead of himself. By that point, both are almost worn out and Mikoto slowly gets up on her feet. She turns around and is rudely shocked to find Inami already aiming his charged particle cannon at her.

A blinding flash greets her eyes before the charged cannon shot hits her in the chest.

“AAAH...!” She falls hard on her back and a prompt warns her of her critically-low shield power, which has barely dropped below 20 points. She could only gasp as Inami plants a foot on her chest and points the cannon directly at her face.

A momentary silence ensues. Mikoto stares helplessly at the cannon's glowing muzzle and her apparent defeat.

She turns her head away in disgust. “Fine... You win.” She says and the muzzle glow disappears.

“No... You did.” He says to her.

Mikoto looked to him confused and notices him slowly leaning on one side until he completely collapses to the ground where she then realized; her [Iron Sail] breached his right pauldron and blood is dripping from the gaps of the armor on his arm.

But that lead to another question consider myself: Why I tend to delusioned and romanticzed the action?

It's what happens when you watch waaaaay too much action movies involving robots/mechs/powered armors.

A.K.A I'm thinking more the artistic value, to much to the point that I describe it as a dance.

Well, shonen, with few exceptions tend to have that. Battle is exciting, explosion is awesome. Until someone died anyway, but sometimes even THEN.

OTOH seinen tend to portray actions as gritty and wasteful, with death toll either dramatically low or super high but no matter what, it comes with realistic consequences.

Where does the draft scene falls in the realism range?

Also the scene portrays the Minerva's arm cannon as a symbolic limiter. Notice how Inami goes NT-D after he detaches it.

Not the best but I wanted it out of my system. And I think that Houki's chant came out pretty badassed.

The beast's roar shook the earth, its claws lashing out at the ones who had injured it.

Leaping away from the attack that left grooves in the earth, a young man with piercing red eyes and coal-colored hair landed, sword held at the ready. "Leave it to Ane-ue to send me on a Demon Beast Hunt," the young man smirked, glancing to his left and right. "Everyone okay," he called out in a loud voice even as the creature crouched in preparation for the next attack.

"It shall take more than this pitiful creature to scare the one and only 'Maiden of Blue Tears'," came a distinctly feminine yet prideful voice. The blonde woman gave her luxurious hair a flip before placing her hand on her hip, her rifle held down by her side. Her piercing blue eyes spoke of confidence as she regarded the scene in front of her.

"So says the one who nearly soiled herself on her first Demon Beast Hunt," a long haired woman dressed in the robes of a Shinto Priestess remarked, the metallic rings on her staff jingling with the slight movement of her hand as she prepared her sealing talismans.

The woman with the rifle puffed out her cheeks in indignation. "Why must you bring that up each time we are dispatched on a Hunt, you evil priestess!"

"Now now you two," the another blonde, this one with violet colored eyes spoke, drawing her bowstring. "No fighting while Hunting, remember?" Letting loose her arrow, she leapt to her right to avoid a large rock hurled at her. Landing, she gave what appeared as a dazzling smile but for some reason, it caused the first two girls to shiver. "Riiight~?"

A smaller, platinum-haired girl lifted her nodachi in time to block a clawed strike, driving her back a few feet. "You all are troubling my wife," she spoke resolutely. "I was more than enough to accompany him out here - alone."

"Oh don't you start again, Iron Pixie," a diminuative girl wielding a kwan dao hacked through the arm of the demon beast that had attacked her partner. With a flourish, she brought it behind her back, left arm out striking a pose. "You of all people are the worst for a two-person team."

The young man sighed. Why did Ane-ue insist that the take them along with him? This must be so that she could get some peace and quiet while they all were out. Shaking his head, he quickly assessed the situation as the demon beast's stub were its left arm used to be began to regrow at an alarming rate. First things first : stopping its regenerative ability...

"Houki!"

"Un!" Raising her staff in the air, she slammed it down into the earth, the metal rings clashed against each other with a violent *CLANG*. "*Rin~ Pyo~ To~ Sha~ Kai~ Jin~ Retsu~ Zai~ Zen~* Warriors of Heaven, Descend and Array Yourselves in front of Me!" Light enveloped her eyes as she opened them again, her talismans arraying themselves in front of her in a pentagram formation. "*Clarity and Light of the Buddha, Bind the Darkness Before Me!*" A beam of light fired from the center of her talismanic formation, striking the demon in its third eye. The creature bellowed as its dark aura began to be eaten away by the light of Houki's attack.

"Good! Now, Cecilia, take away its eyes! Charl, attack when it opens its mouth!"

"As you wish!" Cecilia drew the rifle up and closed her left eye. She inhaled slowly as she steadied her aim. "I have you now, ufu~" The first shot penetrated its left eye, causing it to rear its head and scream in pain. As soon as it did, Charl let loose a specialized arrow tipped with a small gray substance near the tip. "Dunois Special Art," she murmured to herself as the arrow flew deep into the creature's mouth. A moment later, it gave a violent tremor as the arrow exploded within it's throat. "Exploding Wing~"

"Rin! Laura!"

"Aye yo," the Chinese girl was already in motion, slashing the Achilles' tendons of the two left feet while Laura took out the two on the right. Wounded and mained, the creature fell to the earth, it's head landing mere feet away from the young man who had coordinated their attacks to bring it down.

"Yama-gari, possessed by darkness. You can no longer return to your original form. Forgive us, the humans who have ended your life, and may you know peace once more." As he finished, he stabbed his sword deep into the creature's skull, causing it to shriek one final time before it lay still. With it's life force now gone, the polluted body of the creature began to crumble into black dust on the wind. Drawing his sword out, he flung the steaming black ichor to the side before returning it to the scabbard at his side.
"Purification - complete."

It's incredible, but somewhat complex to discern, but too incredible to skim through.

I had the inspiration of a super sentai show introductory episode - the one where all of the heroes battle capabilities are shown in a group fight, yadda yadda.

Heh, I didn't start the fanfic challenge because I thought that I was the best at this stuff - I got a lot of room to improve too. Such as calling Laura an 'Iron Pixie' ...

Although, I'll admit, Miner's little challenge of a Romance/Horror with focus being on the name of a flower is a little... unusual. 0.o

You have to be original and I mean it, it must be a new one not the same personality and behavior of anime characters. Those things, I really mean it. BE original and have very original character background if you were to put them in fanfictions. Once I`m done with exams, I`ll revise the published ones I have now and put the revised version.

I quote 'Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose'. Everyone can lose in unexpected moments if they`re caught off-guard and not focused on surroundings and one opponent[in WOT: it`s called 'Focus Fire'.]

I do not know if that rule is true, but I can make my OCs balanced and lose during their early debuts since they`re a 'novice level' to that kind of stuff. Just remember, people who are new to that will take many falls.

OC vs CC, when I think about it... you need a reason to have that to convince the fandom.

EDIT: unless your OC is a villain or anti hero.

Of course, my OC listing so far is filled by Copycat Sue as it is, along with heavy doses of Possession Sue in regards to CCs. If I were to have such conflict, no one will catch on and raise their forehead because nothing is the same anyway.

Well, "Within the Darkness" (WD) and "Operation: BLAZE" are limes. "Origin" is heavy acidic - not so surprise, since the author got help from fujin. And there is the oneshot that I post few days ago.

Also, I can't not help myself but noticing the erractic pattern of "Re-write" writers. Beside of me and Zero, these guys seems to be inputing so much things into Ichika, to the level of Stu. And their plot is messy. Even the new WD, which is a reboot from an old but good IS fic.
