Tiki-Taka needs to end, but that's not the only factor here as to why the decline is happening.

what happen with Spain is that Barca players are in a bad moment, Atletico and Madrid players are really tired after their long season and Del Bosque didn't renew the team.

Diego Costa. they're trying to shoe horn him into a system that doesn't support it.

Pretty much this. WC2014 is all about fitness and Del Bosque was too obsessed about securing Costa for Spain.

They still have the best squad in the tournament, but sometimes talent alone doesn't cut it.

So ... what exactly happened to Spain in the past two years?

Teams learned how to counter tiki-taka while Spain has grown no Plan B despite the Maracana massacre of last year.

Also, Del Bosque refuses to allow the generational change, this is the time to call Carvajal, Isco, Thiago, Jesé, Morata, Koke, hell, call Bojan, whoever it's fit to play and it's under 24, because both Xab(v)is are on the way out, Iniesta is losing his edge, etc.

Probably not the best idea to drop Negredo and Navas.

This is amazing to watch. Spain couldn't have complained had they taken 5.

And don't forget David De Gea. He earned more than enough credentials in the last few years to do to Casillas what Lehmann did to Kahn in 2006 for Germany.

Truly an end of an era...

Spain can't even score one on open play

I'm grateful for that. Or it would be another boring WC.

Is it the World Cup curse?

France 2002, Italy 2010, Spain 2014. Only Brazil escaped it in 2006

Ah damn we are out.

Still plenty to play in that final round. Chile and Netherland for group leader (i hope Chile win for a Netherland vs Brazil rematch). And us having a good fight against Spain in a battle of pride
