If Medaka is going to genuinely grow as a character, she needs to be defeated.. Not defeated on a technicality or she was holding back or defeated in such a way that she can come back and get on top again... She needs to be defeated in such a way that there is no way for her to come back out on top, defeated in such a way that it is a genuine defeat. In other words, she couldn't have won and she can't try again and get different results. Also it would have to be a defeat that wasn't a moral victory, unlike how she was psuedo-defeated in the soccer match but it essentially gave her the result she liked. Basically, a defeat that shows that she was wrong, she genuinely lost in the situation, she didn't like the result, she was powerless, she has to acknowledge it and she has to change.

For a while I thought Zenkichi might win out eventually over her 'forbidden god mode' in this arc, but then I realized that would be a pointless victory. Medaka in that case could have always powered up and defeated him. I don't think that would shake her world view. It would be like she just let him win, but she still ultimately had control in the situation.

So, if what I think might happen eventually happens, how in the world could anybody compete with Medaka's true abilities? It seems like a technical impossibility.

It would be interesting to see how she handles defeat. Actually, isn't that one of the reasons Zenkichi is even going along with Ajimu's plot in the first place? To show Medaka that people shouldn't always be right and always succeed?

There's good intentions and then there's actually helping, if you really wanna help use your head.

I mean it's like giving a hardcore crack addict money to help with his financial problems. If you didn't think it through to at least some degree then your really just going to make things worse.

I don't he's doing it show that she won't always succeed. I think it's more whats she attempting succeed with is quite right and that always succeed is in itself wrong.

I have always found it last arc being pointless since why is Medaka going so hard to find her successors just because Ajimu is going to start the flask plan after Medaka graduate what is wrong with that it is not like Medaka is owner of School so why is she going so far just because of she student president and also it like saying that people how will join the school after her graduate have their right to vote for their own president but they will get some group of people who medaka choose is that not pure Communism, taking for her own words:
