Same here, I don't want her to end up at the stakes, and I don't see the gods standing idly up there while she's burning either. Hopefully the show changes history, though somehow I have a feeling that Jeanne has to die so that Amira can shine.

It must be noted that despite Amira being extremely attractive Favaro doesn't seem to have ever had impure thought towards her at any point - you would expect otherwise from a lawless rogue, but then again, having her put a curse on him and seeing her obliterate with a flick of her wrist monsters ten times her size probably was enough for Favaro to decide she was someone you'd rather steer clear of, boobs or no boobs .

some other method(s), why do they even bother duking it out with the defenders at the perimeter? |

Perhaps Azazel is just combative like that. I mean, he could've just waltzed in to grab Amira without Pazuzu and the demon army, but that would've lacked excitement and flair... XD (And more importantly, it wouldn't have made for a very exciting episode.)

... That's like asking Jack Sparrow why he does things the way he does them. "Y'see mate. If I didn't do things this way, not only would I be boring and droll and, quite frankly, there's enough boring and droll pirates as they are (drunk and smelly too), but most importantly, I couldn't, in good conscious be able to call myself Cap'n. Jack. Sparrow. Savy?

ED card for the latest episode
Spoiler:
And I gotta say, that is quite a fascinating world they are exploring. Poor Jeanne. That misunderstanding got to the worse now...and I feel bad for her. Same goes for Arima. Those tears ;_; looks like Favaro will have a big decision to make soon.

I can't seem to find it anywhere, unfortunately. Although it seems unlikely, maybe there was none this week?
It's episodes like these that really disappoint me that this show is only 12 episodes long. With a cast of characters such as this, I'd be very content with filler/monster-of-the-week episodes. It's not like budget or funding is a concern. That scene where Amira and Fava are falling and Amira extends her wing in a futile attempt to fly only to decide that, no, she still can't was brilliant and I couldn't help but re-watch it a few times. As were The OT3's attempts at pulling out the Barb in the Paw in order to find out who the true king hero is. And then suddenly, exposition dragon! What's that face supposed to be, Amira? Huh, so Fava's sword was only broken for him to get the barb as a replacement? I suppose it has seen it's fair share of battles but that barb seems so unwieldy in terms of shape and size. Where's a blacksmith where you need one? I got to say that I love how Favaro goes from hero to scumbag and back to hero in mere moments. Where's Cerberus? Is Azazel still alive? Will Jeanne drink the potion? Why does Martinet look like Orochimaru? Does Amira think of Fava as a big brother? Will she make it through all of this and get the happy end she so rightfully deserves? So many questions, so little time.. |

"You can fly!"
"Nope, sorry. " XDDD 1) Wow, exposition by dragon. Using the good old "you pulled a thorn out of my foot, so as a reward I tell you important info" setup, too. It was a nice dragon, though. (And I guess you don't see this setup often in anime...) I wonder what Kaisar's plan was. Pretend to attack Favaro & Amira, and then... what? Wait until Amira kicks everyone's ass and then escape? (But he doesn't even know about Amira being so OP...) 2) lol, Martinet. I rarely get to hear Tsuda ham it up like he did here, so it was fun. But I thought Martinet was a demon... does he have to mix his own poisons, can't he just use his evil demonic powers? 3) Rita vs Martinet, that's bound to be interesting. What happens when you zombify a demon, anyway? 4) By the way, I really like this Beelzebub design, it's really cool. 5) Yeeees, Favaro is totally going to kill Amira. Sure. Come on, writers.... I really hope Kaisar is not going to be a third wheel in the last three episodes... :/ He deserves more than that. (Apparently he has many lines in the last episode, but that could mean anything from playing an important role to just shouting everyone's name...) |

Darnit, we need to wait a whole week to find out what happens next?
Rita has been something of a snarky, walking dues ex machina so far, but for once she's up against something that actually has me concerned about her. I was thinking that Kaiser might end up saving Jeanne since he's one of the knights now, but this episode quickly nixed that idea. Also, they should have had him scream "FAVAROOOOOO!" during their imitation duel in the forest. Just for old times sake. |

Episode 9
This episode felt about as haphazard as a Gundam Reconguista in G episode, if I'm honest. I get the feeling they just tried to cram two episodes worth of material into one at the last minute so I'm thinking that recap episode wasn't preplanned after all and Studio Mappa got "shirobako'd".
