That's a shame about Echo, but not really surprising with how all their Disney+ stuff has been for... a long while now. In fact, it feels like the shows have gotten less and less impactful, which is saying a lot since other than Wanda and Loki, they've all been rather... not important.

I think the problem with Echo is the false advertising. They put Daredevil in the trailers, but he's only there for two minutes in the entire show. Fisk did get some screentime, but they didn't end up doing much with him in the end. Him caring about someone isn't new, we had Vanessa in the Netflix shows. His behavior also felt widely inconsistent. I know the man has serious anger issues, but some of his actions here just didn't make much sense. The other issue is the TV-MA rating. It set certain expectations, and after watching the show I have zero clue how it earned that rating. There's barely any blood in it and zero cursing.

If they refuse to push overarching stories along, then they really need to do more Moon Knight stuff. Completely detach it from everything, even if it's technically still part of it, and don't even pretend to do cameos and such. Focus 100% on being the best it can be without cheap gimmicks.

I haven't seen Deadpool & Wolverine yet but based on what I've read, I've lowered my expectations by quite a bit. It sounds like they really oversold it.
Anyway, big news came out today concerning the future of the MCU. Spoiler for Future entries:

It's likely that Jackman will just play Wolverine until the end of Secret War, which is still like 3 years away. And then the next time there'd be a chance for Wolverine to show up would be likely another 1-2 years after that at minimum. So foreseeable future could still be reasonable.
For Deadpool & Wolverine, I loved it personally. But I also went in with almost no expectations beyond "be better than Deadpool 2", which it far and away was better than. Probably my second favorite MCU movie post-Endgame, with No Way Home being first. Still liked it more than Guardians 3 and Shang-Chi, which were the only other contenders really since I felt like all the others sucked. |

RDJ being Doom does have some precedent in the comics which is what they will likely do to justify him playing Victor. The question is whether RDJ does Doom enough justice to exit the shadow of Tony Stark and come out on his own as Victor von Doom.
The Russo's coming back to direct smells more like an attempt to steer the ship back on course, but considering that IW and Endgame had so much more risk of going wrong than going right, their return gives me hope.

RDJ coming back to Marvel feels similar to Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson coming back to the Fast and Furious franchise. Life outside the franchise must have been hard. Dwayne's Black Adam flopped, and Jungle Cruise and Red Notice weren't good so he came back to F&F after not appearing on F9. Only notable thing with RDJ after Endgame was Oppenheimer, since Dolittle flopped.
Oh and Gal Gadot as well, since WW84 flopped and was relegated to cameos, and Red Notice was not good so she went back to F&F. |

Disney now owns him for 90 years lol
Just saw it today and that post credit scene. Evans has clearly wanted to do that for years. lol overall the movie was a good movie and stupid fun to watch. Even my dad who isn’t into superhero movies loved it.

Finally saw Deadpool and Wolverine on my second try. The first time, the movie didn't have any sound and after a few minutes the staff of the theater told us the screening was canceled because they had technical issues.
Anyway, I absolutely loved it. Best movie of the trilogy in my book. Despite entering the MCU, Deadpool remained 100% Deadpool. The opening scene alone is pure gold, the absolute disrespect for Logan lmao. In the end, the movie felt more about "burying" FOX than entering the MCU (the end credits made it extra clear in case people hadn't noticed). I was still a little disappointed that no superhero from the MCU even showed up in the movie. I do hope that sneak peek at Deadpool's future with Thor was actual foreshadowing and not just a joke. The reason I said I lowered my expectations is because Feige stated that "if Endgame was a 9/10 in terms of impact on the MCU, Deadpool and Wolverine is an 8". That was obviously completely false, even the post credit scene was just a gag instead of some set up for a future movie. I don't have anything else from the MCU to look forward to in the near future.

Could have used some show and not all tell of this Wolverine's past. Wish we were shown a bit of it, especially Charles since he is connected to Cassandra, but that would probably exceed the budget to call back more people to shoot for that. Evans was already eating much of the budget as Deadpool said. And probably trim some fights like the fight inside the car.
Other than that, I enjoyed it. Haven't been watching any MCU stuff for years now but I watch Pitch Meeting and Honest Trailers so I know about this TVA stuff. Love that small joke about Blade not liking Deadpool since Snipes and Reynolds had issues back in Blade Trinity. Glad they could make fun of that in here. |

And there's probably even worse versions out there. If they wanted a "worst Wolverine" they could have gone with something like that. Wolverine hitting on Jean a bit too insistently, coming to blows with Scott, splintering the team which left it vulnerable and everyone dies. |
