Rika was never that strong, what she had last year was a lot of luck. She was in relatively weak group and the 2 strongest Ayu and Rein II were tactically voted out early. She incur the least amount of hate votes.

Spoiler for Group A:

A2-1: Not an extremely exciting group, since Rika will most likely win. Banchou can come again next year with the new season of Minami-ke.
Prediction:Rika
A2-2: This is more like it. A Key loli and a delicious MILF(almost) is guaranteed DESPAIR. Fate have the advantage of having another MSLN in this group to prevent vote-splittng, but everything else is still unknown at this point.
Prediction: Bye bye Ginga~
A2-3: This group is kind of a wildcard since there is no obvious competition. In theory, San should have the upper hand being a veteran and all, but Yami is also very popular just for being a Eve clone. Murasaki is a loli and that's nuff' said.
Prediction: Not sure.
A2-4: The result of this group is related to the result of A2-1. Hanyuu will have a great advantage if Rika dosen't make it, but unaffected if she did. In the meantime, C.C lost her temporary slave -girl boost, so I'm predicting a Hanyuu win here.

B2-1: Luna is the predicted winner for this match, afterall, she is the one who did the un-thinkable last year. Potemayo will become the final victim in the tragic streak of falling Potemayo characters. Coopa is very cute, but series mojo is lacking in comparisen.
Prediction: The pink-haired one, regardless of hair gratitation.
B2-2: I am predicting an easy Kirino win here since she seems to resemble the character in my sig (I never watched BB so I could be very wrong)=__= I never found any M;Y character particularly moe, and in my subconsciousness, I don't want Flora to win...

B2-3: The true strength of Mikan is unclear to me, but I'm guessing that it won't interfere with the Ryou/Aika battle. Aika is one of the most lovable Undines while Ryou being a more minor character in CLANNAD. I'll take Aika over Ryou for now.

B2-4: Shiho seems to be the weakest character in this one, I've never looked at ZKC beyond the style anyways. :3 Hiro and Vivio, however, should be a close call. Hidamari is still going strong with 365 while Nanoha is slowly giving up their VIP moe status. I'm predicting a Hiro win.

C2-1: This is a very close group. Aizawa and Vita both came from a strong series, but are also minor characters. Amu came from a slightly less popular series, but she have the advantage of being the Heroine. I won't really be surprised at the result no matter who wins.
Prediction: Dunno
C2-2: Kagami ownage, Uchida and Mizore not strong enough to fight back etc.etc... Not to mention a Konata combo on the same day
Prediction: Obvious result is obvious
C2-3: A great Tsudere showdown. As I said for Kmoe, Kyou for being the lesser of the two evils. Surprisingly, this is a pretty expectable result.
Prediction: Bye bye Otome~
C2-4: Yuno and Kana will have to go all out as Ink watches on the side. I'm leaning towards X on this one.

D2-1: Epic CLANNAD split. Unfortunately people will likely listen to the prelim vote count and vote for the more supported one,(Tomoyo) thus eliminating Sensei's chance to advance.

The final match last year was actually who was liked more, she or Nagi, and it turned out that Nagi was liked more in Japan, but Rika was liked more internationally and Rika ended up beating Nagi by a couple a hundred 22 votes [thanks pomps]. Weren't the fake votes about even for both Nagi and Rika? However, xellos, you are right in that she really didn't have to go up against anybody really strong until the quarterfinals....

However, Hanyuu is quite a bit more moe than Rika and I'm really hoping she pushes through and wins the whole thing. ^_^

Personally I think a close victory made it all the more enjoyable when the results came through. Though probably because I was with the side that made it out. Hopefully Rika can fight well even being in a tough place this year. But regardless it does feel nice to have that win last year.

Okay I've temprorarily hard coded it into 5.97 ... I dont have a full match file availble, and I am too sleepy to try it tonight... if you would, run a test through it and see if it makes life a little bit more happy... the tosses should be in the saimoe.log file as "for voting before" and "for voting after" ... it is currently last in the checking run, so things will probably get tossed for other reasons as well prior to 01:00:00 ...

As for the date, can't hard code that... and will take a bit longer to implement (as I don't currently do anythnig with the dates at all at this time... but hopefully, again, the other mechanisms will take care of it).

If I remember correctly it was Overfunk who did the votes analysis.

What is a rush?

Quite simply it is one of the native traditions of the 2ch existance of Saimoe... it is a fun way to enteract with other like-minded fans to show support for some cause. Most rushes are based on a single charector or series... for example the Nanoha series has always had quite a following. One of the main goals it to make an unbroken series of posts in 2ch ... which is pretty easy in the first rounds, but becomes more and more impossible as the saimoe progresses. So timing is important! The AnimeSuki rush is a rush more to show the support of English speaking fans of some of the traditions of the Saimoe.

Are there any template rules?

There are technical limitations of 2ch, particularly 2048 bytes. So far I have not found a way to check it that is correct every time, other than test posting it. It seems that while 2ch claims 2048, it may be closer to 1930 or lower.

For our rushes, the only required element is ensuring that the AnimeSuki linker is present and appropriately located. Note, the linker is spread across the bottom and top of the rush posts such to LINK the posts together.

I highly encourage people to play with the film strip. The film strip is the part running down the left of the rush post. The "default" is just "Anime" ... but I strongly encourage putting the moe gal's name there.

If you art is really big or complex, it is fine by me for it to run into parts of the linker or film strip as needed, but do not completely obscure the linker.

Don't know how to do AA? It's okay... use our templates.

Include some moe-bun if you can. Due to the size limits, sometimes the best way to do this is several minutes before the rush, post your moe-bun (charector support) .. then in your rush post put ">>###" (where the number refers to the post your moe-bun is in).

Please try to maintain POSITIVE moe-bun... yes the darkside is strong, but at least for these rushes, please only provide positive moe-bun for the moe-gal your supporting. Save the anti-moe bashing for posts outside of the rush.

Don't give the japanese finger ammunition! If you've already voted, please make sure that you change the <<CHARA-HERE>> to something else... like //CHARA-HERE// ... I'll leave my professional opinion of fake votes aside, but 2ch already has enough gaijin hating people... they love to blame fake voting on us for some reason.

Warming up an hour earlier to avoid cookie question is highly recommended. There are a number of other forums available on 2ch... I'll try to remember to post some.
