Serial Experiments Lain.
Why ? Well... if anyone read Chersterton's "The Man who was Thursday", and percieved that Mr. Iwakura's role in the story was not that different from Sunday in Chesterton's novel... well... I won't say it'd move everyone, but the idea did move me. It's kinda hard to explain, but it's like saying how, no matter how much humanity evolves, God would always be there. Spoiler:

I have to say Kimi ga Nozomu Eien if you watch it you'll know why, damn that anime was so sad.... The music and the animation fits perfectly with it's wonderful Storyline.... Though i disliked the ending, it was very dramatic nonetheless..

Ah, not a single one, although I can rate a show's tragic content, I see pretty much the same things go on in life and history.
For KGNE, I dont see how it is a sad ending. The haruka side of the love triangle was misguided from the start, and it certainly is misguided after the accident. obligation is not romantic love.

- Elfen Lied (at the very end, when the OP music plays like 3 times over and the insecureness of Lucy's fate & stuff)
- Read or Die (in episodes 10 with the story how the three of them met and in episode 11 with Anita and the megane/yuri girl's farewell moment) - Kimi Ga Nozomu Eien (the end of episode 2 and beginning of episode 3 ofcourse, and maybe at a few other parts in the anime) - Kanon (sadness in all the girl's arc's, but I only cried during the end of Shiori's arc(episode 9, at the water fountain I believe) and the tree/red snow scene during Ayu's arc at the end(have to keep it a bit spoiler-free) ) - Black Cat (well, the logical scene(-s) in episode 6) - Aoki Densetsu Shoot (Nooooooo, Kubo ) - Black Lagoon: The 2nd Barrage (the ending episode of the twins' arc) And I came close to a bit of crying during Hanbun no Tsuki ga Noboru Sora and Simoun. I'm such a wussy |

Air - the part when Michiru was about to disappear and Minagi and Yukito are with her.
Kanon (2002) - the part when Ayu asked Yuuichi to be forgotten. Fruits Basket - when Momiji was explaining to Tohru the reason why his mother doesn't know him. Full Moon wo Sagashite - there's a lot, but the most tear-jerker part was when Mitsuki found the grave of Eiichi. Gundam SEED - there's a few moments, but the most tear-jerker part would be the last moments of the final episode following the destruction of Yacchin Due (forgot how to spell it, if that's wrong) and G.E.N.E.S.I.S. Angelic Layer - when Misaki and her mother find each other out in the streets during the rain in the second last episode after Misaki ran away. Kokoro Library - the part where the girls find the diary of their father that explained why the library was built. Been a while so I'm not sure if this is exactly how it went. There's probably a few more that I'm forgetting, but those are the ones that come to mind. |
