Samonji has a plan to end the war and get back at the puppet masters. I think he is going to destroy the base at the wall then have all the unmanned mechs go berserk and die himself. |

I understand Unit 8's logic. They want to retrieve Argevollen, and they want to be in control of their own lives. They also want to help Samonji from going on a suicide mission, possibly saving his life, like what Samonji was trying to do for Unit 8.
It's the part where Suzushiro loads her gun and plans to kill Samonji if he doesn't stop that bothered me. She seemed to be following the orders of the 3 coward generals to prevent Samonji from attacking the enemy, not to save Samonji's life. Does she anticipate that Samonji will go crazy, and she'll put a bullet in his head while he's inside an almost indestructible mech?

Suzushiro just follows blindly and had nothing at the end of the day when she got double-crossed twice now. Samonji sees it coming and anticipates. She doesn't. She should have expected that her boss wasn't going to do too much to his relative (Cayenne) and his friend (Samonji). She's partly out for revenge imo.

I finally got to episodes 22 and 23, and I...I don't know, I just haven't really gotten into them. Which is a shame too, since this show was picking up really nicely in the middle section. However I just kept rolling my eyes these last couple episodes and I'm expecting a pretty bland finale too.
Why are there suddenly so many teen mech cliches going on at this end point? The teen pilot wanted to make his own decisions, and rebelling against the smarter adults. And then the teen getting everyone else to join in with him? And then all of them saying that the captain is "selfish" despite the fact that really what they're doing is just as selfish? You know what? I really hope that Samonji really does go through with his suicide mission! Teach those Unit 8 idiots that not everything always works out just because you want it too. This series had a bland cliche first half, and pretty good middle, but looks like it's going to end with a pretty bland ending. I was enjoying myself until this point too...

Finished watching both Eps. 22 to 23! Gee, I have to admit that Samonji's plan to destroy those Kriegers and himself is so bold that I don't think it'll work! I have to say that the company behind Argevollen and Sturm Alpha will get away with it!
Anyways, can't wait for the finale... |

The ending is so underwhelming... Sure that the war ended in a truce, but I don't think Argevollen will have another season, let alone an epilogue OVA!
As for the Kybernas CEO Suguro getting killed, I'm sure that the parent company is bankrupt as well... Maybe not! |

First Akame ga Kill!, then Psycho Pass 2 and now this. Did the studios all meet together and decided "hey, let's go with something very simple for the ending, the fans will never expect it." Personally I really liked that they went for this route. The start to the show was kinda slow but it got interesting very fast and the ending was pretty solid.

Imo, the overall show was decent. It didn't have the intensity of some mecha shows I've watched but it did have character development. The setting also felt real and the ongoing conflict depicted reality of what war is like.
I think they could of done a better job with some of the other themes. Animation is also a bit mediocre but I think the show overall gets a 7/10 from me. It seems like the aftermath of the war could setup for even more continuation although I doubt the studio would invest more into this series for now. Ending felt underwhelming though.

this show was solid and the ending was good enough for me. I think this show was a placeholder for Xerbec because Fafner 2 got delayed until winter. so they put together a low budget mech show on the timeslot that Fafner was suppose to be in. But I did enjoyed the simple ending, despite the lack of bigger conclusion
