Episode 11:
Well, Kyouya Kirigaya is such a lunatic after selling his humanity on Nero. Then again, I don't even care about him as a character.

Meanwhile, I hate Haunted when he ruins something for evil, like impaling Takeru that causes Kiseki's powers going berserk!

In any case, this ain't good for the finale of Anti-Magic Academy "The 35th Test Platoon".

Just watched ep 8. I wanna ask... doesn't Takeru heal his body when he assumes witch hunter form like when he sticked back together his upper and lower body? Couldn't he have healed his diarrhea by transforming into a witch hunter? I mean yeah, it's unimportant but I just had to wonder. lol

Something tells me Lapis would not appreciate that kind of usage. XP

Besides, at what point would that become excessive? "Fuck, I just banged my toe on the door and it hurts like hell. Oh I know! Witch Hunter Henshin!"

Yeah, but he need's an authorization from the chairman to use Lapis, so he can't go Witch Hunter all the time.

He's clearly hiding something, but doesn't change his actions. Even wanting to kill Kiseki is just convenient justification for him wanting to slaughter Haunted and anything like him. Even the later reveals about Akira's situation and conditions he had to be in didn't change my opinion of during this arc.

Hell Mari would be in some serious danger if he new about her being in Takeru's Platoon.

Oh and on the Haunted's appearance
Spoiler for LN & Anime comparison:
First one Kyouya, those things might be there, but with the way they were presented I doubt most viewers picked on them and would think there might be more to him other than him being a jerk. I just feel his character could have been handled better and I feel missing the details on him just hurts the adaptation. But yeah, Kyouya is a jerk in this arc, but the point is that he is not only a jerk.

About Haunted, while that is true, remember that he really wouldn't have been the type to appear now, but if SL is making changes then making Haunted the final boss works to close things better, since Haunted has been a recurring enemy in this anime adaptation.

Ok I am caught up now. The Haunted is one of the most hilarious villains I've seen. Always pops up when characters have an emotional and quiet moment and then he pierces either character to death while yelling HALLELUJAH! lmao This guy is fun... utterly disgusting but fun.

I have to admit this would make for some comedy gold. lol

Totally forgot about it, thanks for the reminder. Makes sense.

As soon as I found out the show was a 1 cour, my expectations died.

This show was not a good a good adaptation. They cut so much and added filler content. Although surprisingly, I am impressed by what Silver Link did with the action and in particular the OST (release date when). The final arc was also surprisingly entertaining compared to the other acs. But overall, this show was a mess with the storytelling, lack of character dynamics, and awkward comedy.

So I guess Takeru wanted to handle everything by himself in the end even though his friends wanted to carry the burden for him. Ending felt pretty rushed too. Oh well, at least we got the Lapis contract/kiss.

Too short. It's too sad that the likelihood of this getting a second season is nil.

so... the good thing is that we got Lapis kiss (Kusanagi's second after Suginami) and Ohtori's Relic Eater mode

with this original ending, we could say goodbye to second season...
It's been a fun ride with a show that have so many potentials but crashed badly by the production team
I'll miss Kiseki

It was never a split cour. That's what you call a bad translation

It was a mistranslation at the time, there was never a split-cour announced... Sadly.

I like fast paced animes, but this was as fast as the speed of light. I could have somehow looked past it if it wasn't for the fact that there were many things left unadressed or at least adressed poorly which I would have liked to see elaborated on. Other than that, nice eyecandy in form of action, bloodshed, and also fanservice. OST did a good job as well during battles. Another positive aspect is the VA's performance which I found to be quite enjoyable. Eyecatches were adorable, OP wasn't my thing at all sadly, and the ED song was rather cool except I didn't find the visuals appealing for it either. Finally, I loved The Haunted. He was an excellent entertainer... HALLELUJAH! Do I want a 2nd season? Not really, but I'd welcome it with open arms.

The chances of this getting a season 2 are minuscule. Everything was pretty much rushed and they even added in material to just pad the series. I would be shocked if this somehow got a season 2.

While this adaption wasn't good at all and had more than its fair share of problems there were a few things I enjoyed. I enjoyed the VA's performance and I really liked the OST. I loved the ED which was one of my if not my favorite EDs of the season. The OP grew on me after a while. The eye catches were cut and the beach episode was fun.

Yeah, in the end this was kind of a rushed mess. Just too much. Should have slowed down, developed the cast and let the story sink in. Even if you cut one or two arcs from this thing, it would have been a better show. After all there's no point getting to the arcs they want to cover if they don't have the time to do them well.

Kind of a shame. I think this show has the parts you need to make a good show and had the potential for it. But in the end....they didn't make that happen. Just a pretty rushed show that will be forgotten.

Sadly can't see this getting another season.

Episode 12:
Well, glad that Takeru killed Haunted down and rescued Kiseki, but it seems that it's only temporary I'm afraid...

For the adaptation itself, would it be better if SILVER LINK. should make Anti-Magic Academy as a two-cour series with Shomin Sample moved to July 2016 and Rakudai Kishi no Cavalry moved to January 2016.

eh no need since Cavalry is their better anime and projected to sell far more

But the comment was prefaced with what would have been best for this adaptation, not what was best for Silver Link or Cavalry. This show would have been better off with either more episodes or covering fewer volumes of content. I don't think there is any debate that their course of action didn't benefit this show at all.

And Cavalry is going to sell better because a better job was done with it.

I haven't seen the ending yet, but judging by the posts here it seems SL did an original thing. That being the case a 2nd season is a moot point. Especially since this series was never popular enough for two 2 cours to start with and the anime sure didn't grow the base any. Might be for the best too since unlike vol 1-4, SL can't get away with squeezing books 6-9 in 2 episodes. They would each need 4 episodes at minimum and I doubt the Production Committee interested in that since this mainly advertisement for the LN.

They have enough materials but they opted to make original ending that ruined the connection to the future arcs... I don't read the LN but according to the spoilers, I could not think any creative way to connect this ending with next arc anymore

I don't know if somehow they pulled a "Shakugan no Shana" and manage to forcefully throw away what happened in the last moment of this ending and connect it like nothing happened but I'm not sure they will do that
