I think someone did mentioned before that the animators likes Ritsu and Mio. Not sure how much the truth was....but if you read the manga, you;ll know that Kakifly seemed to draw her in most of the scenes as well.
I mean come on, Ritsu ...maybe a star...but the rest of the girls are stars as well

Pretty excited about the movie. I hope it focuses on the girls getting used to their college. Doesn't need to be the central theme of the movie, but I would like to see it.

But this is pretty much K-on's last hurrah for a while in terms of anime, and probably manga, too. I don't see any room to continue, and I doubt they're going to do a sequal/spinoff series so soon. I don't see any K-on! after this.

You know, I said a lot of stuff about the second season, but about the continuation of K-On, I could easily see this as "Friends" of the anime world. Yes - that Friends. Who knows, maybe KyoAni would give K-On an '~After Story~' treatment as well. Since many people claimed that what was important in S2 was the characters, not the story, who cares what happens to them in college or whatever if you could get the chance to see the character continuing growing.

That is, of course, if the characters do grow. All of them, not just Yui and Azusa.

Not surprising actually. Mio is probably the prettiest out of the 5 girls, and that idea of "fresh mature bishoujo" is pretty popular across most ages.

Which is a waste, really. I didn't read the manga, but assuming that Season Two is still manga-based, Kakifly didn't seem to include a lot of scenes for Mio, only milking her (relatively speaking) of her beauty and moe for a top amount of readers. Hence her excessive moeness in S2.

Azusa definitely got a lot more screentime and character development than Mio in S2, so I'd say favoritism towards Mio doesn't really affect the junior here.

I agree. I was originally a Mio fan, but Azusa stole the show in season 2 IMO. I really liked her in season 1, too, but she really, really impressed me in season 2.

(Source @raito_kun)At a recent event(Kyoto CMEX) K-On director Naoko Yamada made a speech in which she revealed the following:

- One of the reasons she was made series director was because her female high school days was not so long ago.
- Yamada was apparently quite Yui like in her appearance, with a fashion sense resembling the K-On EDs. She also designed the outfits in the three K-On EDs.
- In K-On! Kyoani put heavy emphasis on depicting the characters so they feel alive and life-like
- First K-On OP is made to look amateurish, as if the girls made it themselves.
EDs are wild ideas of HTT's pro debut.

That surprises me, I'd expect S2's Utauyo Miracle to fit that a lot more, considering it was the only OP that didn't have the awesome floating instrument close-ups.

Where's Mio's boyfriend? lol But, assuming that this supposed boyfriend was mentioned in an episode of the series, I feel that he would probably not appear in the movie. Most anime movies just tend not to take mention of these little details in the canon universe, unless they are major enough for the audience to take notice (and thus, for the producers to lose money).
