they butchered season 1 in some character introductions/personality/scenes which will hamper in season 2, in which is why I'm not that thrilled to see another season.

Four months away from the previous volume. After disappointing his fans in volume 4, I hope Kinugasa sensei take more time to create better story for next arc or maybe festival arc.

People keep suggesting me to read this while saying it is similar to Oregairu. Is it safe enough to pick it up, if I want to avoid jumping into another shipping war like Oregairu was?

No, it's different from 8man story. It might looks the same from the outside perspective but that is only to those who actually haven't read the actual story.

Many fans believe that the author just used the similarities with Oregairu as a bait and after the first 2 volumes had already stabilized some fanbase, he started from volume 3 gives a proper soul to the series. About waifu wars, you will see this in any series that has romance, like it or not, but regardless of what the fans want, so far the MC only likes one girl and he is already dating her.

You can say its similar to baka to test to shoukanjou but with a more serious approach, an mc thats somewhat smart, collected, professional, martial artist expert, manipulator, cunning, cold, extremist and most importantly chill one who wants a regular student life.
the exams has interesting aspects and not just your day to day exams. the author realy performed well in adding those special exams and strategies like we are reading a proper school politics(not your teen politics but more on societal politics) in regards to application involving private points transactions. overall if u want power based shounen type action i would not recommend u to read it, but if u want to read a smart story and interesting sol anime with professionalism, I would highly recommend this one.

I think might see more executives from the WR in the LN later in the series. I wonder there’s one that Ayano’s dad is afraid of or doesn’t want to get involved with.
