No I just like coming up with random plot twists. Its how I write fics, decide the number of twists, subvert them twice, then plan a narration that remains coherent throughout.

It is also why I'm stuck at planning stages every time.

Since IS cores are like a computer with a large energy source, it could be related to some sort of CPU memory that fell from the sky which Tabane luckily found and reversed engineered it to become cores.

Then years later some sort of hyperdimesional portal opens, drops a lilac haired girl which fell on top of a blond haired IS representative at ISA.

If I ever lowball Tabane's genius, it's only because I'm comparing her to a reincarnating soul that's retained thousands of years of cumulative knowledge on science and sorcery in both theory and application since the supposed beginning of the human race.

The character I came up with is Mairead Sandilands, of Scotland. This is my first time doing a character like this and I am not sure how it sounds over all and would like input from those here who have more skill then I. Thank you.

Description:

Standing at a height of five feet six inches is a young lady who has waist long reddish-brown hair. Her eyes are emerald green in color and she weights roughly in the area of 130 to 140 pounds. She has a petite nose and eyes the glow with life and adventure, although the look she gives people shows that she has a lot on her mind that she keeps from everyone else.

She is currently dressed in the uniform of the IS Academy with green leggings, and the skirt is longer, stopping an inc to two inches above the knee. In her boots, is an sgian dubh, a small single-edge knife, while clasped about two inches above her left breast is a crest with a tartan attached and tossed over her left shoulder that ends at her waist.

Profile:

Mairead Grace Sandilands is the 17 year old daughter of the current chief of Clan Sandilands. She is also the IS Representative Candidate of Scotland. Her mother is a the current chief of the clan, while her father is a minister from Ireland. Due to her upbringing, she was raised in both Irish and Scottish traditions and customs, making her a fiery person. She is not short tempered, but she has a Scottish hardheadedness and can at times be hotheaded and she is able to hold her own. She became an IS Representative Cadet/Candidate of Scotland due to her mother's position with the Government and for being one of the top students. Her personal IS is known as Emerald Lady, a close combat 2nd generation IS and a pair of green rings on her index fingers in closed or standby mode. Additionally, she has been trained by a master swordsman and can handle a broadsword with ease. However, she is scared in failing her family, clan and country. Due to this, there is a lot of stress on her to succeed. To handle this, she tends to speak what's on her mind before thinking. Her only release outside of training, is hanging out with friends or reading.

Skills:

Swordswoman: Mairead is a master swordswoman and has been trained by some of the best sword masters in Scotland and Ireland. She has specialized in both a Scottish Broadsword and a Scottish claymore, which she is not afraid to use when she is near it, although her IS has both that she can summon at anytime just with a thought. Additionally, most bladed weapons are useful to her.

Multilingual: In additional to Scottish, Mairead is able to read, write and speak English, German, Irish, Japanese; read and speak Latin. The Latin from being Catholic.

Education and Training: Mairead is an intelligent person and has high marks in the areas of History, Mathematics and English. Being in the top 2 percent of her class. Due to this, she is a first year transfer student in Class 1-2 at the IS Academy in Japan and has received Scotland's own IS, Emerald Lady, an All-Rounder Close Quarters Combat 2nd Generation IS. Outside of her skill as a Master Swordswoman, she is not that good in other areas, being only average to slightly above average. With her father being a minister, she has knowledge on religion and politics from her mom.

Disadvantages/Flaws:

Hardheaded and Hotheaded: Mairead is a hard headed Scottish lady and a teenager to boot. When she gets set on something, she will not back down and will even summon part or all of her IS. She also does not like being wrong and gets upset when she is. With being in the Multiverse now, there are many things that keeps her distracted and interested in learning about, which can and has gotten her into trouble. To go along with being hardheaded, she is hotheaded as well. Not much sets her off, but when she does get set off, she will lose her cool and talk with a lot of Scottish words. She also tends to hit people with objects when she does not have access to her sword, especially if they have insulted her, her clan or her IS.

Scared: Mairead is scared at being an IS Representative Cadet/Candidate. Since there is a possibility that she could be replaced if she does not do well. Due to this, she works hard and does the best she can, but still has the fear in the back of her mind. Additionally, since coming to the Multiverse, she is in a completely different situation and there are some things that scare her. When she does fail at something, she gets down in the dumps and is not one to be around as she disappears into her books.

Religious: Mairead was raised by her father within the doctrine of the Catholic Church and even though she does not do a lot of what a Catholic does, she still follows the basic rules and does her best to not hurt people. Although, due to her hotheadedness and hardheadedness, she tends to speak things before she realizes it and then has to do her best to apologize to people and make up for any hurt feelings. Moreover she then feels the need to go to confession about the sins she has done.

Human: Mairead is a human and has all the strengths and weaknesses that humans have, while hers only advantages, is the training she has received from her instructors at the IS Academy, her home in Scotland and her IS, Emerald Lady, which has helped her, but at the end of the day, she is a human and can still be hurt by everyday things.

Blunt as a Brick: Mairead is as blunt as a brick sailing through a glass window. While she is not intentionally trying to be rude, her bluntness can easily be mistaken for such.

Personality:

Mairead is a person that has a very determined mind once it gets set. She is one that does not like to lose nor fail at anything and so works hard to do her best, no matter what it is. She has a somewhat laid back personality, but that tends to last little when something gets her upset. She is very outgoing and friendly, but can be cold at times due to what she says or how she acts towards people. A lot of times, due to her hotheaded and hardheadedness, she tends to either rub people the wrong way or push them away. However, she is very friendly and is willing to help those in need.

Additionally, Mairead is very observant and a thinker, she thinks before she reacts and is calm and cool headed. She will not do something stupidly and fool hearted, although at times it appears that she is doing just that, sue the Mairead being a hothead. She uses this all the time and is someone that makes decisions based upon the facts and what she knows or is known. As she learns more about something, her decisions change based on the new information. An intelligent person, but she is not a weakling in a fight. In addition, when she does get into a fight, she can be serious, but also determined to succeed at whatever it is she starts. Even though she does get upset at people, she still has a kind and gentle heart and will not do anything to harm people

IS:

2nd Generation IS - Emerald Lady: An All-Rounder Close Quarters Combat 3rd Generation type that is provided by the Scottish Government. Being a 3rd generation IS, the Emerald Lady is optimized for Close-Quarters-Combat (CQC) and is equipped with twice as many Expansion Slots and equipped with around 10 different kinds of Equalizers. The weapons stored in the Emerald Lady includes:
'Bearnard' - a beam broadsword
'Caddock' - a Scottish claymore
'Hume' – a sgian dubh, a small single-edge knife
'Loch Rain' – a .60 cal heavy shotgun
'Ivar' – a beam bow, an energy bow that fires energy bolts and uses the IS’ power supply.
'Trident' – missiles stored in the top of the thrusters, a total of 20 missiles are stored in four banks of 5 missiles each.
'Alistair' - a shield mounted on the left arm that protect Mairead during a fight. Additionally, the shield can also double as an energy shield that can be deployed to protect Mairead and those close to her. However, Alistair can survive a total of four rounds, but utilizing this does not allow her to use any weapons unless it is dropped.
Two of the equalizer slots have additional armor plating to provide better protection for CQC, while the remaining two slots have two modified multi-thrusters, and these new multi-thrusters provide an overall increase in speed and maneuverability. When in closed form, the Emerald Lady is a green ring on her left index finger.

Background:

The daughter of the current chief of Clan Sandilands and a Father of the Catholic Church, Mairead Grace Sandilands was raised in both the church and those of her family's clan. With her father being a Father within the church, she grew up learning the ways of the catholic order and doctrine. From her mother, she learned the politics of clan order and how the clan was to be ran. Due to this, she was raised in a very strict household and as she attended school, she did what she could to not have to deal with the strictness. While at school, she would have fun in getting into fights and took the time to learn how to fight using swords and bladed weapons.

As she got older, her hard work in her classes shown as she progress towards the top of her class and excelled in History, English and Mathematics. On top of her sword training, which she has mastered and achieved a Swordswoman level of skill and training. Moreover, he has learned to speak, read and write her Irish, German, English, and Japanese, while speaking and reading of Latin. While in school, another side of her came out much to her father's unhappiness but her mother was more than content, Mairead was hotheaded and hardheaded, just like she was. She was calm and cool, but she also did not back down from challenges.

This hardheadedness helped her excel in school and when she was selected to be the IS Representative Cadet/Candidate of Scotland, she was happy, as were her parents, but her father was not that happy, since he knew that could lead to her moving away from the church, which he prayed she would never do. As she got ready for the IS Academy, she studied more and was given the IS of Scotland, Emerald Lady, a 3rd Generation, All-Rounder Close Quarters Combat IS. She spent time learning about the IS and even named all of the weapons on it. One thing she did have added to hit, was her clan badge on the left shoulder, to be displayed proudly.

Upon arriving to the IS Academy, Mairead worked to become friends with the other students and even began to enjoy the company of the only male able to operate an IS, Ichika Orimura and unlike the other ladies at the IS Academy, she has no interest in Ichika, but will help him and the others when they needed.

I don't really have one.

No shame in bumping her down to gen 2. But if you're adamant about making her IS generation 3 then I think you should consider her combat style and how a built in function/weapon would function perfectly with her at the helm.

Moreover, I am having trouble thinking of what the IS would look like once it is active. Artwork is not my strong point.

sounds normal. Really sidestory kind of character which is a good thing. The canon cast isn't really all that sane- or acceptable.

Try looking up irish and germanic martial arts and myths or something. Maybe you'd be inspired.

What made Charlotte's Raphael a gen 2.5 was her pilebunker under the shield.

It was essentially a non-handheld weapon built into the arm and was not operated by means of a manipulator. This made it a "unique feature" to Charlotte's own Rafael Revive. Thus earning the status of being slightly above a gen 2.

My own personal understanding of the generations is:

gen 1: completion of IS and basic functionality

gen 2: introduction of equalizers and segregation from presets

gen 3: unique functions serving to emulate one-off abilities

gen 4: fold-out armor which allows for optimization in regards to specific operational requirements

She spent time learning about the IS and even named all of the weapons on it. One thing she did have added to hit, was her clan badge on the left shoulder, to be displayed proudly. Upon arriving to the IS Academy, Mairead worked to become friends with the other students and even began to enjoy the company of the only male able to operate an IS, Ichika Orimura and unlike the other ladies at the IS Academy, she has no interest in Ichika, but will help him and the others when they needed. But if you're adamant about making her IS generation 3 then I think you should consider her combat style and how a built in function/weapon would function perfectly with her at the helm. __________________ Official art: They know what we want.

Moreover, I am having trouble thinking of what the IS would look like once it is active. Artwork is not my strong point.

It was essentially a non-handheld weapon built into the arm and was not operated by means of a manipulator. This made it a "unique feature" to Charlotte's own Rafael Revive. Thus earning the status of being slightly above a gen 2. My own personal understanding of the generations is: gen 1: completion of IS and basic functionality gen 2: introduction of equalizers and segregation from presets gen 3: unique functions serving to emulate one-off abilities gen 4: fold-out armor which allows for optimization in regards to specific operational requirements __________________ Official art: They know what we want.
