Oh god, that first day of the Grand Magic Games was cringeworthy. I can't take seeing Raven Tail use underhanded means to lead the competition. At least some people (Yajima, Mavis and the other high-level mages) notice their style of combat. There's also the "breather" fight between Jura and Jellal, which managed to quell my rage.

Meanwhile, Carla gets a bad premonition involving Mercurius and Lucy. There's also that mysterious knight talking about Zeref and "the ripening of a certain someone". I guess Lucy's becoming a key figure in this arc once again after the Key of the Starry Heavens Arc and there's something more sinister behind the Grand Magic Games after all.

And thus did NaLu fans everywhere scream at the ending song. And the very end of the opening song. And naturally that opening is spoilerific to the max.

Not much to comment on, besides the fact that A-1 continue to do the two chapters an episode pacing quite well.

And a minor mention of the new art and animation, which I generally felt was quite good, except the scene where Sting attacks the Guild Master looked a little awkward in my opinion. But regardless, I didn't really notice that the character designs had changed.

Definitely took a bit of adjusting to the new character designs. Not that I didn't like them, it was just...well different

I'm glad they pretty much started out going full tilt and not wasting a ton of time in recap. I mean damn, things got busy right out of the gate. Sting's cat gets vaporized and then Sabertooth's master gets owned

. I guess this is the natural consequence of kicking out anyone who loses and just killing people you don't like. It's amazing this guy had a guild at all with his insane standards.

If there's one thing I'll say about the anime, they do love NatsuxLucy

(Fairy tail): In the middle of the Natsu vs Sting/Rogue fight, you see the so called "Zeref" figure. It is also later revealed at the very end that the person is a woman, but you can also tell that from her facial structure. Now also notice how she cries out of ONE EYE. ONE. Erza isn't able to cry out of one of her eyes due to her time in the tower of heaven as a child. And not to mention, the face of the girl looks EXACTLY like Erzas face as well (Bottom part). And Jellal seems especially disturbed at the end, like he recognizes the person. I personally hate this theory myself, but it seems like that. The only possible way I see it not being possible is that it is the RIGHT eye that is crying however, only her left eye should be able to shed tears.
