As how she is now, she is the perfect bully material or at least thats what I understood with some scenes in this chapter. Just add the dere are it will be 1000 times more awesome and funny.

Oh trust me Fwar, when they finally reveal to her that it was Senzaemon who accepted Souma into the school, and that her most hated character is the son of the person she admires most, that avalanche of Karma raining down on her will be an awesome spectacle to see, and I'll be clapping like nobody's business.

Does he really hates him?, cause with this chapter and the previous one, I can already see their interaction as a couple of teenagers which find kinda hard but still try to interact with each other(though she end being bullied). Erina has grown without being shown in the manga in the aspect that she learned a commoner chef can achieve a lot of things(those shots of her in the tournament) which somehow made her respect him in some way.

But as always, haters gonna hate.

I remember during the Stagiare period, when she was with Megumi in her car, while Megumi was talking about Souma, she still had her, could you please not talk about that man, reaction. Not to mention wishing that Hisako was with her when he was interacting with her in the festival. Granted she's not trying to get rid of him as much as she was at the beginning chapters, and has found new, albeit at least recognition, respect for Souma, she still needs something to make her realize once and for all that hey, the world of cooking is not as high and mighty as you think it is. She might have God's tongue, but everything else? not as divine. I'm actually hoping that if she and Souma do a shokugeki, if Souma wins, instead of taking her seat, I'd like for her and Hisako to live at the Polar Star dorm so she can become more and more humble. Besides, she's been foreshadowed plotkai by Joichirou at the starting chapters, so like her or not, based on tropage alone, I'll have to learn to accept her as the potential end girl-v-;; (yes I know no confirmation has been made, but I'm not doubting Joichirou).

I expect her to eventually find out about Souma's dad, by which point Souma will have a serious cook-off against Jouichirou, to make Erina say she lieks his cooking better than his dad's...but that should be in a few years from now. Until then, I don't think she's going to change her mind unless Souma actually gets somewhere with the elite 10, something I doubt at this point.

Which reminds me, I hope they show Souma's mom at some point, maybe in a flashback if the event she passed away.

I don't want to see Erina do a massive turnaround due to karma. I rather prefer what the manga is doing now by slowly changing her via repeated exposure to Souma. The defrosting may be slow and may irritate people who want it to happen faster but it makes me enjoy the manga more

What those like Erina actually need isn't redemption, but damnation and punishment. People should accept that there're those that just can't be saved and won't be reformed no matter what happens. What's the difference even if she learns about the identity of Souma's dad or someone gets fed up with her nonsense and defeats her for good? Nothing, I believe. Erina-sama will probably convince herself that even though being blood-related, Souma is but a lowly commoner, who is unworthy of being her idol's son or successor and her opponent just used some kind of cheap cheat to win, since the almighty Erina-sama and her God's tongue know no equal, let alone superior.

Its like if you are not even reading the latest chapter but mehh. In the same way every student that has been rude or acted bad should and deserve a punishment. Every student that has won something from other in a shokugeki should be punished, or every alumni that expelled someone should go trough the same. Everyone has their motives to do something, some as petty as the ones of her, some may be even worse, just get over it, not even in the manga some seems to care about that.

As @bones said, how she is being handled now seems like the best way to change her character.

Isn't really "genuine" hate but a reaction when she being bullied by Souma. Yes she being bullied by Souma even at their first meeting. It is only frustration for not being able to "dominate" a guy like Souma but after autumn election she changed a bit and become more gentle in other word she is accepting Souma.

After all erina is accustomed to being treated like "princess" and Souma for her rapresent her impotence and weaknesses and is the reason she goes into a panic when sees Souma in certain circumstances.

Have you once again 'forgotten' about the spoiler policy?

The 'expulsion' trope has been used one too many times, so it kinda dilutes the tension & anticipation ahead (we all know that's never going to happen to both of them).

Which brings us to the question of who actually went about to initiate that condition. The school? Yugi? Souma? My initial guess would be the SouMan himself, but that puts unnecessary pressure on him, since Yugi's clearly at an advantage here (again, was it really necessary for such a stipulation?).

Souma plans to situate his booth right in front of Yugi's, & his talk with Erina seems to suggest he'd be employing the same trick/tactic, back at the breakfast challenge ('poaching' Erina's customers).
