SHana>> the reason why i kept it in GIF was cuz of the picture quality, in jpg its so horribly blurry T__T
I wish i could use PNG but that would mean 126kb XO Dark>> hahah yup! ^___^ and the blurryness.......same reason above! XD

@bigdave:
Not a bad looking sig you have there... although when you saved it in gif format, it really degraded the quality 10-fold. One thing I would like to point out is that your render looks like it's just slapped on top of your bg. There is no depth what so ever. Easy fix is just to put a drop shadow on your render. If not that, then how about a simple 2-4px feather. For your bg, I know you have a nice variety of color but it looks a bit bland. How about applying a levels layer over your bg layer(s) and adjust the low, mid and high tones until you get a nice well balanced bg colors to compliment your render. I like your choice of font. It looks like the perfect match, but again, it could use some help. For starters, how about a light drop shadow (opacity = 50%, distance = 2) lol... I just got on the phone... well anyways, let's finish this up before the girl starts rambling on and I lose my train of thought. What else for the text... how about some bevel and emboss to bring it out a bit more and give it some life. Hmmm, lets see... the bottom white line, you should put the end of the white line behind the render so it won't be crossing over her scarf thingie. Well i'm losing my concentration because this girl on the phone. Laters.

If you keep your thread updated at least once every two or three weeks, people will eventually post on your thread. At the very least, that's what I have been telling myself so far.

After: Now this is what I'm talking about. Just little tweaks here and there and vioala! You'll have a completely different look. It looks great. Now you see all your vibrant colors for your bg. I actually like to critique more than I like making sigs. I'll go through these threads and looks for sigs to critique on but since I'm new here, I've noticed most of the posts are old. I'll try to keep a look out for member's new posts so I can critique them. On another note, I've gone back to page 39 on the sig request thread and making an attempt to finish up unfulfilled sig requests. It sucks when no one takes up a request and members get discouraged... But I completely understand that people have lives and what not but I'm just trying to be a team player... well enough ranting. I have to start my 12 hour work shift. I brought my laptop to work so hopefully I can get another old request done. Hope to see more of your work bigdave.

What up bigdave, it's me again to hook you up on some pointers while I listen to some good music lol. You have solid ideas on both sig but I can see some imperfections already. First off, I saw what you tried to do on the curve line at the end of the two horizontal lines. I'm just you can just clean that up a bit to make it smoother. Some level adjustments or brightness/contrast adjustments can help out the first one and some for the 2nd sig. As for the text, a 1-2px drop shadow @1-2 distance, 50% opacity would give it some depth. One more thing is that cut offs of body parts. You have the style down on both sigs but how it cuts off on the arms and elbows really give it that edgy look... the 2nd sig looks better but you can erase the part of her hair at the top middle of the sig and as for the first one, you can probably give it the same drop shadow property as the name text. If you want, post up results and we'll go from there. You got some great ideas going BD!

Just make sure that nothing on top is crop... be it hair or hair ornament.. it dont look nice and defeat the purpose of staying out of the box.
