Well Emma does seem to be banking on being available as a factor in her favor. Which to be fair is working out so far. Is going to get a bit tougher of course as the harem grows a bit and she's not the only one there. At least in this case being the childhood friend seems to be working just fine in her favor.
A fun element is that the party can get stronger over time. Going to have harem silliness along with it, but it isn't just about Noir powering himself up. No problem bolstering his companions and seeing them flourish as a result.

She just needs to give him frequent and firm, a.k.a affectionate, reminders that while she won't protest the additional girls too much she's top of the heap and is number 1. She's got the sexiness, cuteness, and emotional bond with him and it shouldn't be too hard to wrap him around her finger if she puts her mind to it. Noir seem like the type to be lead by girls who take the lead.

Apparently Olivia is famous enough that there are people who faked being her disciple enough for it to be memorable and remember Olivia has been trapped in the dungeon apparently for a long time. Noir's claim to have Olivia's skills was ridiculous at face value so Lola thought she was calling his bluff.

I sort of wonder how long it'll be before Emma finds out exactly what Noir's skill is and thus comes to know that he needs sources of stimulation. Might make her just a little bit more forgiving or quickly willing whenever he says he needs to to something with her or other girls. |

So... just wondering... Why did he actually catch those crickets when he could have edited a bunch of normal ones into rainbow ones... It might not even have cost that much lol.
I was really looking forward to the muscle guy being the receptionist btw, but no it had to be a girl to fill the trope. And a manipulative one at that. Also, Noir... one does not let a lady fight Goblins, I wish Goblin slayer was there to give you a good smacking. Both Emma and Noir care far too much about her not being able to defeat the rabbit. That thing had a thick fur and probably a lot of under-wool, so her not getting through with those two small daggers isn't that strange. Just upgrading the skill ruins all the hard work of actually gaining the upgrade on her own. I also want to point out how how making that much money in a short time isn't exactly keeping low profile. He could have as well taken credit for defeating the reaper.

As for his concern about her not being able to kill the rabbit, it's clear to him that she wanted to be there by his side, fighting together with him, and not having the power to do this was eating her up. It seems natural to me that he'd want to help her obtain the power she so deeply desires. |

Currently, it looks like his max LP is 1400? I'm sure there are some things that will cost him 1,000,000 LP, so I think he needs to level up quite a bit to do some of the more advance skill upgrades.

They would have eventually beaten the rabbit if they had worked together, the fight would have just been more exhaustive. Instead, the MC cheated by editing something she should have ranked up on her own, not only deriving her of the accomplishment, but also of the lesson she should have learned there. i.E. "I need to train more if I want to defeat enemies who are stronger than I am." It's the old "Give a man fish and you feed him for day. Teach him how to catch fish on his own, and he'll be fed for the rest of his life." kind of problem.

Not really a great analogy there. As Anh Minh said, rather than giving her a fish or teaching her to fish, this's more a matter of giving her a fishing pole good enough for her to keep up and qualify as a fishing partner. Remember Emma's not out there because she wants to be an adventurer, she's there because she wants keep the promise they made years ago to be together forever. She was happy to be a mere librarian until another noble forced Noir out of the job. If she was there because she wanted to become as strong as she could and it was confirmed that she could attain the specific skill changes he provided with practice, I'd agree with what you said. But since that isn't confirmed and her entire motivation is to be able to stand with him and support him, I don't see that big of an issue with him offering some support to her.

What she wants is to be a partner that can fight at Noir's side and be helpful to him. She wants to be around him because she loves him. She was eager to start her library job because she'd be with him. When he was forced out of it she tossed it aside to follow him to the Hero School. She was pissed off this episode because he went questing without her.
This boost isn't the full of her potential it was just a quick shortcut to help her close a power gap. She gets what she wants and is able to help him in a more tangible manner rather than just be an objective to protect and an LP dispenser. I think her motivations are quite clear to see.
