Similar to others here, I also watched the anime expecting something similar to C3-bu and was pleasantly surprised by the humour and over-the-top scenes.
However, also worried about a bit how this will fare overall. Chronicles of the Going Home Club, which has a similar feel to this, didn't have a good reception. |

If this show continues to be knockabout wacky fun like this, I'm in for the duration.
Good to see that Mokarin isn't the shrinking violet heroine, but can give just as good as she gets. Her mum was quite fun, too. The narration also makes the show work. |

This is the funniest anime of the summer. Everything Mokarin does or thinks is hilarious, down to the "tie", where she wins outright.
And the narrator talking about the purpose of the matrix style acrobatics....and why they even have a secret underground training base. I'm loving it! |

Hrm... to be honest the humor here is not working for me, but its "external overall feel" reminds me of Hayate no Gotoku for some reason.
Strange thing - I appreciate the use of the style and feel that it is technically effective and well done, but at the same time see it is not clicking. Ah well. :\ I may give the series another ep, but unless things change in a large way (and I wonder in an odd way whether it would be good for it to do so to begin with) I think I may be dropping this one.

This how you do random comedy done right. Write strange comedic characters and then see how they are interact each other (also add a platypus because why not). I just love how all these characters are so strange I mean we have got a masochist, a cosplayer, a gravure model, a gun fanatic, and a sadism. You know there's going be funny moments just with those characters. Also Momoka has just become best main female character for basically being the most sadistic main character I have seen in a long time (especially for a comedy show). She has finally shown her true colors. I also love the 4th wall breaking jokes with the narrator especially the preview where in which he states that this is not going change tone so if you don't like it don't watch it (not does words but similar though). Also that ending is by far the best ending of this season for me. This may feel like a dumb show but it is actually smart because it knows how do random comedy right. It may be easy but it is actually difficult and thankfully this one is ticking all the right boxes for me. Also that was clearly The Matrix reference/homage at the end.

What's this? No one talking about Momoka brutally gunning down elementary schoolers? You all are slowing down!
It was obvious she was using too many shots on them. 2-3 each would have been fine. 4, 5, and 6 for the cannon fodder girls, however, was totally excessive and a waste of ammo. In the end, I was expecting her to just shoot the crow anyway, or turn and shoot the girl regardless of the change in rules. Oh, and I guess there was that bit with the teacher in the beginning. Whatever.
