Might be a typical storyline, though this is a Gainax series --- they like to go a bit over the top with the typical storyline part.

I'll agree about Kamina, but none of the rest. This isn't the type of show for that.

This anime reminds me a lot of manga like: CoCo Full ahead, where Kamina as Bart and Shimon as Coco. Throughout the series the main guy (Coco) will continue to grow and by the time the series ends, injured Bart retired (with his sweet heart) and Coco took over....
If we are talking about Traditional, I think it might turn like that instead.

Another traditional path for me is similar to Breath of Fire III. If you have played the game, you will notice that main char starts as a kid and continued to grow. His growth really shows when he has a princess (about his age) to protect. Ryu, Nina...cough cough... Shimon and Nia?
( Nia is scheduled to appear ~ep9, perfect timing for Shimon's growth. It is mentioned in character data that Shimon be the one who found Nia *somewhere, and she is a princess. That fits the profile).

Seriously, Gainax will be stupid if they kill off Kamina so early in the series - its like cutting their leg off!!! I don't see Simon up and running and being all Kamina-like. And since when it all got drama-llama like??? I thought it was a comedy. XD. I will be very dissapointed, I had enough of dead characters with Code Geass, I want some fun stuffs for a change!!!

i think now that kamina has met his tragic demise things are going to be pretty toned down...no more craziness from the king himself and more focused on how the team copes as they head of to defeat the final bosses...and also how simon develops as a man...he is going to follow in kamina's footsteps im sure ~ and yoko...shes now a widow

I think they're going to be said by Nia this season.

It's 26. And Gurren in SRW will probably happen in the next edition along with Eureka Seven, Geass and DieBuster.

NewType revealed a while ago that she was the lost princess to the Great Empire, at least that's what the trusty duckroll said anyway. Any idea where the info on Adene and the Spiral King came from, though?
