Looks like its been licensed for a while but the street date is still TBA.
The manga chapters are REALLY short. We are talking in the 20ish range...and those appear to be MONTHLY chapter releases. Thats quite little when you think about it, most monthly chapter releases are in the 40+ range...ive seen 60-80 even(but those are more for large chapters). 20ish is more like stuff in weekly shounen o.O. The plot seems a lot more fast-paced than the one in the anime...guess you could say the first half of the anime was just fillers and spending a lot of time setting up characters. Im liking the manga a LOT more than the anime series, for one thing the standard of yuri is higher...instead of mere kisses shizumu was willing to go all the way. The characters on a whole seem a whole lot more likable than the anime. Im definately keeping an eye out for this series.

If your expecting the manga to be even remotely like the anime, your in for a shock. The only thing the two have in common is the setting and characters. Other than that it's a different story. And yes, only three vols of manga, and three light novels aswell i believe.

Yuri in spanish is more supported by females than males. I sorry say this but males only think in hentai and more hentai. I think that yuri is not very popular in USA because the boys. Example: Strawberry Panic is seinen? No. Maybe Josei-yuri... but... Seinen? Strawberry Panic was made by a women and for womens. I think that USA confuse the yuri with the USA lesbian porn made by males and for males. Example of a simple yuri webpage: http://yurilandia.net/ Yuri made by girls and for girls... no for boys. |

I like yuri because it has that "drama" in it, mainly its because of the story plot. In Kannaduki no Miko, I nearly cried at the near end because Chikane and Himeko were separated but recovered back from my tears at the "very" end. It is these kinds of drama that I like.
I like SP! because is not very much you find one of these yuri anime that are very well done, drawn and developed. I manage to get the first volume of SP!. Luckily, theres only 2 books left and I manage to get the second-last one ^^. However, I dont have much time to read it at the moment. |

I'm not saying that guys don't like the girl on girl undertones, especially in manga like SP, cause we do. However it's not really right to say guys only like yuri for hentai Quote:
Finally, SP was made by a women, true, howeever it was aimed at men. Yuri in Japan is 99% aimed at men, where yuri love among girls is actually lower than the guys. In Japan girls tend to go more for the Yaoi/shounen-ai stories more than the yuri. You need to remember that almost all manga is aimed at the japanese audience first, so they're created to please the japanese audience more than the western one. Only a few manga have been made to appeal to both directly, the latest being the Witchblade anime, and Witchblade: Takeru manga. Ultimatly though whether a series is made for boys, girls, women or men is irelevant, if you enjoy it you enjoy it. If you don't you dont. |

Have to admit i was surprised over this one, i've been putting off reading it since i hate SSE and didn't want my fave manga butchered. However they did a bloody good job on it. They're the first company to actualy leave the names in the correct order, rather than westernising them. the only slip up i found was when Shizuma calls Nagisa her 'little sister', why they didn't leave that as 'imouto' is beyond me, considering they left all the others intact >.<
@technomo12 Yuri = Lesbian Yaoi = Gay Shojo-ai = Girl love (almost Yuri, but not quite) Shonen-ai - Boy love (almost Yaoi, but not quite) Yuri = Strawberry Panic, Maka Maka Yaoi = Gakuen Heaven, Kissing Shojo-ai = Maria-sama ga Miteru, Revolutionary Girl Utena Shonen-ai = Loveless, Princess Princess |

Because we're on the publisher/distributor reviewers list.
I my case it came from the distributor since Seven Seas only take american reviewers. But i also get manga from Del Rey, Tanoshimi, Yen Press, DC, Dark Horse and Titan. I've been writing reviews for ages, and publishers come by occassionally and then i get sent free pre-release titles to read and review. Puclishers usually send out their pre-release stuff about a month to six weeks before release, and distributors about two to three weeks before release. |
